Career Change

Lone_Wolf
Arizona
Thirty seconds after sitting at the bar at a local club, a dancer sat next to me that was far past the point when she should have changed careers. Emphasis on "far". Had to be deep into her forties and, unfortunately, aging had not been kind to her.

With desperation in her voice, the dancer told me she was working a double and was desperate to earn money to pay for rent. I believed her. The torture of trying to be sexy when that was no longer possible was written all over her. I've gotten countless mercy dances, but this time I did not tip or get any dances.

Do any of you get dances in this situation? Also, why do clubs allow dancers far past their prime to work at the club?

Right or wrong, this will probably influence where I go clubbing as I have a lot of options in my area.

No I do not give dances under like circumstances and the reason owners let them work is solely to collect the house fee.

GREED for tip outs & fines.

What is past your prime? Depends. I once knew a dancer who was into her 50's, but still had a reasonably decent body & was "Talented". She worked in a dive, of course.

If you want to find Sympathy, look in the dictionary, between R & T.

If I had a dollar for every time I've thought that... :)

Shadow makes a good point, but I think it's really just another symptom of most owners/managers not caring enough to make an effort or just not understanding how to run a club.

To elaborate a bit, on what Shadow said, I know of a few dancers who aren't past their prime, but they aren't the most attractive girls in their clubs. One has a big weight problem, yet she keeps on dancing.

However, she and the others are probably considered good "employees." They show up for all of their shifts, pay house fees and tip-outs, and don't cause any trouble in the club. With that level of reliability, a club isn't going to care what they look like, or how old they are, or how the customers perceive them.

Since granny porn is apparently economically viable, she may make more money than you imagine.

Managers believe customers will accept almost anything just to look at a naked woman. If enough of us keep going to clubs that recycle over the hill dancers, managers will never change hiring practices.

I've heard some sad stories from dancers past their prime, but I don't pay for pity dances. If I was old and broke, would strippers give me dances for free?

OP: "Also, why do clubs allow dancers far past their prime to work at the club?"

Same reason they keep fatties on staff. Not all customers know that hot chicks are at least as likely to do extras as anyone else. I appear to be the only one on TUSCL who knows they are actually the most likely. Less knowledgable souls think they have to resort to fatties or well past their prime girls to get mileage. Sad.

I regularly got dances from a dancer (probably an 8 on a scale of 1-10) who had given great dances in the past for reasonable price. I didn't see her for a while, but a year later she showed up and looked like she had gained 50 lb. She begged me to get a dance and said she wasn't making enough for the tip-out. I felt sorry for her and endured a "crushing" dance that was nothing like her old dances - next time I'll just give her the money and skip the dance. I kind of felt like I owed her one for all great dances she had delivered in the past. Luckily I never saw her at the club again.

Now if strippers at a club are employees and not private contractors is it legal to fire them for being over the hill or could they sue under the ADEA of 1967?

Either way there is a simple fix, fire them at age 39.

I suppose I can invoke my "I banged a 60-something grandma" story again here, which I regretted almost immediately. For her, the reason she got to stay there is twofold, she was bartender at my favorite club before they switched to a BYOB format and in order to stay there, she decided to dance, which I understand wasn't new for her, and she was also a frequent extras giver, except that usually, she was banging guys her age. I think why they keep older ladies far past their prime is partly because they are still younger than some of their customers. Not that I think the typical TUSCL message poster would go for that, but that may have something to do with it. OTOH, one of my now old favorites recently turned 50, or so I was told, and she never had any trouble getting the young ones for lap dances. My current #2, who I understand is similarly aged, is also similar to her like that.

I don't give pity dances. I'm spending a lot of money to be entertained, not make charitable contributions. Unless I can write if off my taxes.

I don't give pity dances but I will buy a drink or tip them while on stage. Keeps my karma clean and only cpst $10 or less.
