$200 for 30 minutes sounds like a better deal than $150 for 15 minutes, if you have a known commodity. But I take your point that $200 is alot for a tryout dance.

Give the pastie complaints a break. Its not a club choice. Its a requirement of their business license. It's listed on TUSCL as a Pastie Club for a reason. Do some dancers skirt the rules a bit? Maybe. But, you shouldn't expect it from all.

This review belongs on Yelp.
I also like their food, but don't like the menu price increases over the past few years.
Millstream's ownership owns the beef farm that supplies the Millstream kitchen and another plain restaurant called Woodstock Inn. Seems doubtful that Millstream would garner the prime cuts in the restaurant hierarchy, but still not bad.

I wonder if the whole Cuba Communism thing also dampened the Catholic/Christian fervor that you have in most other Latin American countries. No religious morality reasons not to strip.
It is kind of amazing just how many attractive, well put together Cuban women work in the clubs. It kinda makes me wonder if the women remaining in Cuba are equally attractive or too ugly to leave.

They do have tvs that are used for major sporting events, local team games, and NFL Sundays, but the tvs are poor resolution and positioned so that 75% of the main floor seating can't view them. If there is a major game, they'll put it on the big projection screen that is viewable by other 75%. The best TV is at the upstairs bar, but you miss most of the stripper show from up there.

Are you sure you reviewed the right place? Red Garter is right in the thick of things on Duval St.

To answer your original question, if you actually want to eat a real lunch in the triangle, Cheetah Pompano is the only one with free lunch size portions - 8-10 standard options and 1 daily special (menu on website). Usually pretty decent if basic food, and served pretty quickly. If you visit during lunch, pretty much everyone at the bar will be eating amd ogling.
BT only has free "small plates" that look like they come from a microwave or deep fryer. BTs food service is super slow - you're usually down at least 2-3 drinks before food even shows up.
DD doesn't do free lunch, but does have some happy hour deals on food. DD claims to have an in-house Steak House, but can't say I've seen many people eating big meals there. The dancer sales pressure at DD is too high to ever really just chill during the day.
I'm not a big conversationalist, and usually visit my local clubs in the afternoon, so I do often get lunch in the club. No messy foods, and prefer meals with utensils. The idea of feeling up a dancer with spicy Buffalo sauce under my fingernails seems incredibly rude.

The truth hurts, but if you accept it, it will set you free
Does DC even have convention delegates? It is also about 75% Democrat. DC doesn't have full voting congressional members in Congress.

Some clubs already have higher VIP room prices for nightshift.

Funny you should ask as your first post on this board. Post a few reviews, read a few reviews.
My personal preference is free lunch at Cheetah, happy hour at DD, and BT anywhere in between.
But, remember, YMMV, and "all contents should be considered a work of fiction".

Last time I was there in December, they had started charging a processing fee for credit card payments (Millstream is still the only club I'll bring my credit card in to), so maybe the ATM fees weren't that out of line. The dancer drink quota thing is also fairly new - my understanding is that dancers gotta sell 1 "dancer drink" at $22/night.

I thought pussy dust was just another term for stripper body glitter. Thankfully very few strippers wear glitter nowadays.

(Semi-) private booth dances should be $25 per song. Did the price increase?

Haven't been in over a year. But, I have never seen a juke box in the LD area here. And, before, if you showed a hotel key card, the cover used to be free.
Also, if you're in Columbia, it's your only local option, not "best bet".

I have been to a few pastie clubs where a fishnet top counts as a pastie, even if the nipple is clearly poking through. So, by that logic, I'd agree with your buddy that it wasn't a "nude" dance.
Better to just avoid fishnets altogether if you want to get a nude dance. In my opinion, they don't feel as good as a bare ass in the lap, and can sometimes frankly be a bit too rough. Same goes for gem studded thongs - ouch! If I see a girl wearing complicated outfits or boots up to mid thigh, that's another red flag, since I know she won't be taking them off.

What did 50 Cent do when he got hungry? 58.
I totally agree that the 1-song per pole stage rotation BT started doing a few months ago really sucks. It is also really stupid from a tipping standpoint. The girls don't get full nude sometimes until they move to the side stages, which are farther from the bar seats and the upper level balcony where the rain falls from. I prefer to sit at the rear bar, and am not a first song tipper. So, I don’t get to see the full nude up close, and by the time I'm ready to tip, they're already moving on.

I'm confused. Decent review, but a couple lines make it sound like the club you're discussing is not located in Pompano or Broward County. It is.

Unless the rules changed recently, the girl is supposed to pay the lap dance room attendant $5/song from whatever she gets from you. You're not supposed to pay the house dance fee.
Any idea if you can still get in for $0 cover with a local hotel key card and out of town license?

On one of my first club experiences, I made the same mistake. Got upsold to VIP by the seductive dirty talk and taken for room fee plus pushy waitress and dancer tips, etc. And, ended up getting a tamer dance than if I'd just stuck to the regular lap dance booth paying by the song. Afterwards, I was pissed off at being effectively robbed. I eventually chalked it up as a learning experience and moved on.
I still visit that club semi-regularly on work travel, and have lots of fun in the regular lap dance room. BUT, I'll just never do a higher priced VIP dance there, or almost anywhere else, ever again. TUSCL reviews do help figure out where VIP is not just a rip-off trap, but those places seem few and far between. Higher-end clubs and tourist destinations are effectively guaranteed to take take take.

When I started that discussion post a couple weeks ago, it was really in awe of the amount of bar-hopping and review-writing that you do. I used to live in the DC area and know how much driving time was involved to travel between the 11 clubs that you hit in a single weekend from northeast WV to Richmond.
I didn't mean to appear to call you out for not spending on overpriced low-fun dances. I totally agree with your stance on that. The prices in DC area, and many others, are totally out of whack. For the most part, they just aren't worth it, except perhaps for prior faves or dancers that you really vibe with.
I moved to South Florida a couple years ago. Very handsy two-way touch $10 floor dances and $20-25 booth lap dances still exist here, and I've gotten spoiled/jaded. When I travel for work, and visit clubs elsewhere, it really is hard to find sufficient reason to spend $$ or acquire enough content to write a worthwhile review. The regular clubs I do hit are frequntly reviewed by others - how many not-too-explicit Pompano reviews are really needed...
Apologies if it came out wrong. You do you.

Good review. Cheetah Pompano VIP is reasonable/cheap for return on investment in comparison to other parts of the country, but you do get spoiled/jaded living too close to Pompano, where cheaper VIP options are only a mile away (I definitely have).
