FUCK IT!
And this just in......
The City of Columbus, OH has just announced that football will be banned within the city limits. Speculation is that since the embarrassment of this year's loss to the Michigan Wolverines, all memories of that game will be erased.
This will include the total demolition of The Horseshoe, and the purging of all city records. The property will provide space for a new Columbus Science Center that will feature science projects easily understood by OSU students, such as the classic volcano and others.

โThe First Long Distance Callโ: โOn February 12, 1877, Bell made the first long-distance phone call in history from the Lyceum in Salem to Watson at the Boston Globe in Boston. The phone Bell was using in his demonstration was what he called his 'Long Distance' telephone.Feb 12, 2015
As you can see, the Canadian version preceded the American one by six months!
Need more?
July 1874: Alexander Graham Bell conceives the theoretical concept for the telephone while vacationing at his parents' farm near Brantford, Canada. Alexander Melville Bell records notes of his son's conversation in his personal journal.
10 August 1876: Alexander Graham Bell makes the world's first long-distance telephone call, one-way, not reciprocal, over a distance of about 6 miles, between Brantford and Paris, Ontario, Canada.
9 October 1876: Bell makes the first two-way long-distance telephone call between Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts.
So, I will grant you the first two-way long distance phone call,

The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone would definitely be on my list. Add to those the Mississippi from it's source to the Gulf of Mexico and some of it's tributaries.

@gammanu:
The issue of Boston vs. Brantford as the home of the telephone has long been debated. Clearly, the first voice transmission from one room to the adjacent room occured in Boston. However, the development of the telephone as a practical means of communication occured in Brantford, as did much of Bell's preliminary work involving the deaf.
As far as the automobile goes, I misspoke a bit. Not the first automobile, but the introduction of production on an assembly line was what I had meant to say.

Born in Detroit, home of the automobile.
Grew up in Brantford, Ontario, home of Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone. First long distance phone call - Brantford to Paris (Ontario, 9 whole miles, lol), and the home of Wayne Gretzky!
Brantford is also the home of the Zamboni!

My former ATF in Baltimore had several follow her home. Luckily, she had a very husky son who lived at home with her. One old fart (not me - a different old fart!) actually showed up at her house one afternoon basically demanding a date. She sent him packing, disappointed, angry, and cut off from any future contact.
Another dancer was followed home and "luckily" was just mugged for the substantial amount she had earned. She was seriously freaked out and it was a year before she could dance again.
Any S.O.B. doing this crap deserves to rot in hell.
