StripperWeb has an interesting take on this -- that strippers have to dumb themselves down, because that's what their customers want. Obviously, take that with a grain of salt; StripperWeb's overall fantasy world is that strippers are always better and smarter than their customers, even if their biggest talent is looking good in a bikini and their customers are successful enough to have money to spend on strippers. But, on the other hand, I believe this to an extent -- customers want strippers to be their fantasy girl, and very few guys fantasize about a 22-year-old stripper, in her underwear, who is smarter than them. It is pretty easy to believe, however not-smart or smart strippers are, they additionally dumb themselves down on purpose for us.
Putting classic IQ aside: many strippers have far above average street smarts (tragically), and many have just amazing sales skills and sales intuition. Some of the strippers I've gotten to know are geniuses (at least to me) at selling and manipulating people in all areas of their lives. Most strippers have excruciatingly low emotional IQ (except where emotional IQ intersects with manipulating men in sales situations).

As Papi often points out, trying to divine the reasons a stripper does what she does can be a futile effort ... and who says there's a reason rather than it being an irrational action?
That said, among the good reasons the stripper might have done that:
- She knows her whale is coming, she doesn't have much motivation to spend any emotional capital on someone who she's profiled as a low spender anyway
- She's already frustrated and irritated, or came into the club frustrated and irritated, and she just wants to check out for a while. And, again, she may have profiled DB as a low spender.

Ya, I think the thing we all assume is that her being on her phone is sheer laziness, contempt for her job and her customers, etc. But that's a pure-PL point of view, and the girls' point of view is sometimes different.
- Sometimes, she just needs a few minutes to chill and gather herself.
- Sometimes, she's scanned the room, decided there's no high percentage customers there for her (like any good salesperson, many of the girls are able to profile customers decently well), so she might as well sit tight and wait for her regular. Remember, getting turned down or being the subject of rude comments can be emotionally draining and that can affect her; it can often be a smart move to save herself from the low-percentage customers and be in the best mood possible when her regulars or her "type" of customers come in.
- Likewise, as bj mentioned, if it's all low percentage customers, texting her regulars to come in is smart business. I always tell my ATFs to text me when it's slow
But mostly, it's laziness. LOL

george, I actually think other than possibly behaving similarly at the tiprail, and objectifying dancers (something they have in common with other groups), they're substantially different -- their motivations and other behaviors are completely different. Those groups of guys wouldn't even be there if it weren't for their friends, and they are usually not there to just look ... and especially, not avoiding conversations. Lookers only look -- it's right in the name. A huge % of customers on some nights are there socially -- socially with the friends, first and foremost, and absolutely with the girls, too, they are definitely there for dances and conversation. To me, it's almost odd to leave them out!

ski: I was surprised at that, but then Founder filled in the blanks when he said props were converted to trusts... so trusts aren't just a function of the forum, anyone who wrote lots of good TRs might have been loaded w/ props.
What I"m confused about is how some of Dougster's (or juice's? Who even knows) alternative troll handles got so high up

I think the major category they've missed are, for lack of a better term, social clubbers. On a typical saturday night, there's far fewer guys sitting by themselves, and more often groups of younger guys who are not regulars, and only come to the strip club as part of a male bonding trip. It seems to me that only "amateur nights" (Friday and Saturday nights), these groups make up a significant percentage of patrons. These guys don't fit into any of the categories above, and their motivations are different.

I'd say HJ is definitely an extra ... an extra that is not a big deal at some clubs, but an extra nonetheless. In fact, if you go back and look at our various "what is an extra" threads, we might all have slightly different definitions, but HJ fits under just about all.
I do love the girls who think HJ is of such little concern that it doesn't count as an extra though! I *love* HJ, and I'll take HJ over CBJ 95% of the time

Upright: ya, the weakness in the system seems to be that some of the trolls have so many troll accounts, they can all upvote each other. I'm assuming that's what accounts for the handful of very surprising names on the top 40 list (although most of the folks there are who I expected). I'm guessing founder is logging all IP addresses and could disambiguate the troll votes if he had a lot of free time on his hands :)
