I can only speak to the Detroit area clubs on our famous Eight Mile Road. These clubs were suffering before the pandemic, having been hit with the virus of heavy law enforcement. Penthouse is closed for one year. The Coliseum's VIP section has more lighting that a night baseball game, with no privacy and no touching. Tycoon's is closed for remodeling, the second time in five years. The market was slowly shifting to the Detroit suburban clubs and then we get hit with the pandemic. The auto plants have shut down, laying off a lot of guys. There is a safety net for them, but it has an end. Auto suppliers are about to take it in the neck, because there is no demand for their product with assembly lines stopped. Just as an aside about the effect of this stuff, consider The Metro Times, a free weekly entertainment tabloid, which usually carried at least four full page ads for Detroit's top clubs on Eight Mile Road. After the police raids, the ads stopped, telling me that cash flow was drying up. Metro Times announced last week that this week's issue may be the last for a while, with all of the closings of bars, strip clubs, restaurants, night clubs and concert cancellations killing ad revenue. Young single guys who still have paychecks will surely surge forward and make the reopening of SCs look like a Super Bowl party, but that's not enough. Older gentlemen are the lifeblood of Detroit clubs and they will face a rocky road back to normalcy when this pandemic begins to abate.

Yes, I can see a lapel button that proves a PL has been vaccinated. Will dancers have amulets or necklaces?

I agree that there will be pent-up demand, but will customers, facing unpaid bills with collection efforts deferred, have the ready disposable cash. Some will and but many won't. The return to the clubs could be like the big celebrations when Prohibition ended--or slow and gradual as many who have suffered during the pandemic face new priorities, like finding a job, rebuilding 401 (k), adjusting to pay cuts or just not interested in greedy dancers trying to "catch up." Closed clubs still have rent, mortgage and loan payments during the pandemic. Will they be able to catch up by reopening with $25.00 cover, $50.00 to $60.00 dances, $35.00 VIP entry fees,$250.00 tip outs? We'll just have to wait and see what happens in an uncertain market.

Just finished "FDR at War," a trilogy by Nigel Hamilton. An easy read about the politics, ego clashes and strategic planning during WWII. Hamilton's goal was to write the history that FDR did not live to write and to correct the record written by Winston Churchill in his "History of the Second World War." Hamilton explains the history that led to the creation of the United Nations, NATO and the other agreements that have kept the peace in Europe for 75 years.
Now reading "World in Disarray," by Richard Haas, which explains how all of the arrangements put in place after WWII are coming undone.

Is it possible that Detroit LE is winning the battle? The crackdown in Detroit--Penthouse closing, Coliseum drying up--may have created a lot of confusion in the dancer market. My uniformed guess is that dancers are hurting for money and are moving into suburban clubs, but everything is hit or miss. Club managers may think that they can just wait for desperate dancers to get in line. That's fine for the manager when it happens, but makes for an empty club when the dancers go wherever they hear that the grass is greener. Hard to figure out what's going in the Detroit market.

The unverified street rumor is that Penthouse and Coliseum, when they were both owned by Alan Markowitz, got too famous for FS action in VIP. DPD couldn't or wouldn't ignore the heavy action anymore, so raids were stepped up. Changes in ownership created more problems, because the new guys did not have the contacts and political skills to repair the damage. They figured that new owners would be left alone. Wrong.
Penthouse was closed in a big PR show that made the DPD look good with the nearby neighborhood groups. Coliseum has been warned that they are next. (It's supposed to be just a matter of time before Coli is hit with a big raid.) Thus, the VIP action has been reduced to air dances to avoid a raid, but that has greatly reduced dancer income. Why would a customer pay an increased price for reduced service in any industry, especially SCs?
The dancers have bailed out of Coli in anticipation of its demise. And the customer base has dropped off dramatically.
What will the bank do with this place when they foreclose and take it over?

Why should a customer pay the same money for reduced services in the VIP. Take your business elsewhere. Eight Mile clubs blew it by not getting close to to the political structure of Detroit.

Detroit residents value their neighborhoods, property values and quiet streets. PH patrons routinely urinated in the side streets, took up street parking to avoid valet, had sex in parked cars, threw used condoms on front lawns and created noise at closing that would wake the dead. The management of PH and other clubs seem to have no understanding of the political power of Detroit's churches and neighborhood groups, dismissing them as irrelevant to making money.
Homeowners fought back, blaming PH for the trashy conduct of patrons. PH said what happens when they leave here is not our business. The pressure kept building for a crackdown. Now, it has started.

It was the first of the month. Rent is due. Back to school is expensive. When you're not making any money off PLs, panic sets in, but is dulled by drinking.

Drugging drinks is part of the action in the movie "Hustlers" or "The Hustle" (I forget) starring J-Lo and Cardi B as dancers. Drugging drinks is also a real threat along Eight Mile Road in Detroit.

Having been drugged in a club, I believe it is important to share the information as a warning to all.

A lot of women dress to get male attention because it flatters the ego. The attire is NOT presented to say"Come Fuck Me." Men are expected to understand that flirting is one thing and "Come fuck me," is an entirely different expression. We are expected to know the difference and act accordingly. How? I really don't know.

The LE pressure is on to crush the Detroit clubs. Mayor Duggan needs a distraction from the scandal involving using his influence to steer contributions to a non-profit medical support organization run by his MD side piece girlfriend. After announcing that the marriage was stable, the Duggans have announced a divorce.
He needs to show that he's still in charge. SC crackdown is an easy target.

I now know why I had a couple of blackouts at Tycoons in Detroit. Spiked drinks. Yes my wallet was empty and my plastic was maxed out. Dumb me. The article and, maybe, the movie reveal that spiking drinks is almost a standard practice.
