They never tell you what you need to know.
    2023
When I noticed that timed seemed to be rushing by faster and faster, it occurred to me that each year is a smaller percentage of your whole life, which I think compresses time or at least the perception of it. When you’re 10 years old, one year is ten percent of your life experience, but when you’re 50 it’s only two percent. The older you get, the lower that percentage goes. 2020 just put the whole notion of time compression on steroids and altered all of our perceptions. I agree with Muddy’s comment about time being tracked more by events than actual calendar dates, but I also think we track time to some extent by routine, and when routine is materially altered, like it was in 2020, and everything has to reset. For me, retiring a couple years after 2020 blew up my routine again, and I’m still trying to find the reset point!

A Few Good Winter-time Shots of Bourbon
For some of us BSC oldtimers, it's hard to see any other dancer use the stage name Kendra, and hear the DJ refer to her as The Body Kendra. There was only one The Body Kendra, and that body is likely to never be replaced, at least in my memory.

    Phoenix vs Tucson
In my opinion, none of the clubs in AZ have returned to pre-COVID glory, but depending on what you’re looking for, you can find it. Bourbon and HiLiter are probably still your best bets in Phoenix, Bourbon for eye candy but low mileage, and HiLiter for a few lookers, lots of Cubans, more ink/metal, and generally more mileage in VIP. In Tucson, Curves and Raider’s Reef are owned by the same group as HiLiter. Curves has some decent lookers, and their VIP setup provides enough privacy for more fun and games with the right dancer. Raiders is higher mileage, but in my opinion lower quality dancers. Venom is the UHM club, but I haven’t been there in 10 years, and everything I read suggests the talent level if bottom shelf. In Tucson, don’t waste your time with Ten’s, Love Cabaret (formerly TD’s East), or Christies by the airport. Is it worth the drive from Phoenix? I don’t think you can find anything in Tucson better than HL or Bourbon, and I live in Tucson. Safe travels.

Your Biggest Challenge of All Time at The Club
Thinking back to that recent thread about pickup lines, I think she would have melted if you just said “Let’s get a pizza and fuck!” What, you don’t like pizza???

    Who picks the music
At one club I frequent, the dayshift dancers always dance to music they’ve chosen, almost always the same group or song. If I walk in and hear Tool, I know who’s on stage before my eyes adjust. On night shift, the music might not match the dancer, but it is almost always the same fucking music. I often hear a new song on my Amazon music feed, and think it would make a great stage song, but only if a dancer really worked it. I like high energy driving music, rock, blues, R&B, but hear way to much rap and techno. It seems to me that stage music could bring a lot of energy if the girl on stage really worked it, but most of them just saunter around the stage, with an occasional twirl on the pole. Sometimes I wish I could work a shirt as a DJ, but I would probably just piss off the dancers, and probably a lot or customers too!

According to the marketing materials of Axe deoderant, body wash, and body spray, you will become irresistible to women! I’ve been using them for years, still waiting for the effect to kick in……

I totally relate to Studme53! I often go in to my favorite club right at open, and sometimes watch my faves drive in and park before running inside. I love getting that little rush of anticipation adrenaline when I see a favorite pull into the parking lot. A certain purple Dodge Challenger comes to mind. If I see that car, it’s gonna be a good day!

Quality of dancers: lower than in the 80s and 90s?
I agree with Steve3000’s comments about perception. I grew up jerking off to the perfect women of Playboy, and when I first started going to strip clubs in the early 80s, most of the women looked like they stepped out of the pages of Playboy. That cemented my strip club addiction as it fed my fantasy of these perfect women, airbrushed enhancements and all. I remember when Hustler and other harder core mags came out, and I just wasn’t a big fan, they didn’t measure up to the perfection of Playboy and Penthouse. So what I mostly see in clubs now is compared in my mind against those perceptions of perfect women, and the reality is that only a very few current dancers match up, at least in my perception. I also blame the whole Kardashian enhanced fat ass trend of the last decade. Not a fan. Give me a perfectly shaped college coed ass with a nice rack, perfectly curled thick hair, beautiful face and smile, little ink, no metal, a cute landing strip, and a fun flirty personality, and she will get my money.

I generally don’t care, but actually a couple days ago I was walking in with a dancer that got out of a shiny new bright yellow Corvette. This is a dancer that always complains about not having enough money, nobody gets dances from me, blah, blah, etc. I think she might have a SD helping her out, but clearly her poor girl schtick doesn’t jive with her wheels.

Well the AZ-Dbacks had a tough outing tonight, spotting Texas 10 runs by the end of the 3rd inning. Now down 3 games to 1, it will be tough going for the snakes to climb back into this series with it heading back to Arlington now. I don’t understand how a professional baseball organization can only have 3 reliable starting pitchers! Starting the game with a series of relievers made no sense to me, and allowed Texas to jump all over the ball with hits to build a large early lead. On a related note, as I sat in my very expensive upper deck seats tonight, I couldn’t help but calculate in my head how many LDs and OTC sessions I could have had with what I paid for my two tickets!

Used to be a Thriving Place
Incredibly accurate review, mirrors my experience as well. I was there Saturday night about 9pm, when I entered the door guy said I could sit at the bar or around stage 3 (by the bar). As soon as he turned away I headed straight back to my usual area near the entrance to VIP, and easily found an empty table. The gorgeous server Taylor took care of me and I stayed for a couple hours. There were a few of my regular faves in the house, but I agree that overall talent has declined, especially at night. However, the few that are good, are so fuckin good, I keep going back!

    I Wonder When I'll Quit
Totally hear you @iknowbetter! I could have retired several years earlier, but put it off specifically to maintain my strip club hobby cover. I knew when I finally pulled the trigger that things would change, but it was actually a bigger hit when my wife retired. I appreciate all the suggestions about golf, poker, etc., but my wife knows all my friends in my real life, so that doesn’t work. I still have some connections to my professional life, so I’ve made escapes to give “guest lectures” and similar activities that don’t involve the wife or anyone she knows. Where there’s a will and a smoldering SC addiction, there is always a way!

I was able to attend Game 6 in 2001 when the Dbacks lit up Andy Petitt and the Yankees for something like 18 hits in a blowout to force Game 7. It was a great experience, hoping to attend a game this time around if I can find tickets. Game 4 next Tuesday would be good, maybe get to watch the Dbacks complete a 4 game sweep!

    Dancer Logic
At least she was out in the open so you could approach her. At one club I frequent (Phoenix PLs will know), dancers disappear into the dressing room, sometimes until they get called to their next stage. You can tip them on stage, ask them to come over, and when they come off stage they head right to the dressing room, probably to watch their phones for texts from regulars, while ignoring real $$$ right in front of them!

    Pick up lines
So I tried out “Hey let’s get a pizza and fuck” on one of my regular faves. She’s always been a no-fly zone on OTC, but she loved the line and laughed out loud. She said she’d not heard that one before and thought it was hilarious. She also says she loves pizza, but still no on OTC. So not successful on that front but did make for a fun flirt!

I’ve thought about this a lot since I retired, and more since my wife retired. Unlike the OP, my wife has no clue and would NOT be OK with my club activities. It’s frustrating because I now have lots of knowledge and plenty of money for club and OTC activities, but no longer have my job that provided the freedom and cover with time and travel to enjoy all these pleasures. It fuckin sucks because I still really enjoy it. I can still pull off occasional club visits, although less frequent, and arranging OTC is much more challenging. This has me wondering when I will decide that the juice is simply not worth the squeeze.

Tucson and Phoenix have strip clubs that are mostly Latinas, but there are very few Latin massage places. Instead both towns are permeated by AMPs, which seems bassackwards to me.

    Pick up lines
I love all the pick-up lines in the movie Crazy Stupid Love. Here’s a link to Ryan Gosling’s first interaction with Emma Stone, classic stuff. I also like in another part of the movie when a guy tries to hit on her gorgeous friend (played by Liza Lapira), and she just waves him off and says “In what world honey?” Awesome put-down! https://fb.watch/nNsXzU49wq/

For me WOODDR2 wins for the best line so far. I don’t need pick-up lines to ask for a dance, but I’m always looking for clever new ways to bring up OTC that are disarming, yet are very clear in intent.

    Same Old Same Old
100% agree on that ridiculous small stage on the south wall next to VIP. That is the stupidest use of space I’ve ever seen in a club, and it eliminated the best seat in the house in that little corner. I can’t imagine what mgmt was thinking. Epic fail!
