    Prostitute vs dancer
being a dancer myself, i have a largely different view to most of you. i'm going to be completely honest and say right away that from what i've read in the other topics, i'm the kind of stripper that the majority of you would hate. i'm constantly using the "i'm a dancer, not a prositute" line. why? because that's exactly how it is, for me anyway. at the club i worked at, in south australia, any kind of contact is STRICTLY forbidden. if a guy was to grab my breast during a dance, i'd kick the shit out of him. but then again, i don't "grind" on laps. i don't dirty talk or nibble ears or let anyone lay so much as a finger on any part of my body. i have never met a customer OTC for anything, i don't discuss my sex life with customers. in the private lap room, i dance seductively while taking my clothes off. yeah i'll sit on his lap but i certainly don't grind or do anything that comes even remotely close to getting him off, and while i am dancing for him his hands stay down the sides of the chair at all times. i don't engage in the typical "stripper shit", and i'm usually what someone referred to in another topic is a "hit and run girl". i'm not one for conversation or befriending customers for money, i'm not one to hug & kiss my regulars, i have the attitude that i'm there to get paid to dance naked, if you would like to look at me then give me money and i will do my job. so for me, being that i simply dance naked and nothing else, the "i'm a stripper not a prosititute" line is totally applicable. but regardless of that, there is a very fine line between stripping and prostitution. some girls would probably see grinding on your groin until you cum totally fine, but would get angry at you for trying to touch her. like someone said above, maybe it's a control thing. i don't know. i've never been in that situation. i guess where you draw that line is a totally personal thing, and varies between each person, be it dancer or customer.

Is there a rank in supervision at Stripclubs?
the club i worked at had a pretty dodgy secretive ownership deal going on, so i'm not exactly sure what the whole story was there. but i think the owner of the premises and the manager of the girls were definitely ranked #1. followed by the assistant manager (in other words, the ex-stripper now dating the manager or owner). the bouncers and bar manager were probably next, and then i guess the girls who had been working there the longest who kinda looked after the newer girls.

ahh, ok. i'm not sure if it's an australia-wide thing but i know in the state i live in, touching, penetration of any kind, etc is really illegal. hell, in the club i worked at i saw my boss actually throw a girl's suitcase down the stairs and scream at her to "get the fuck out you dirty fucking whore" because she got busted kissing a customer in the VIP room. even opening our legs once we had our thong off was discouraged. makes me realise how naive i am to it all... i honestly had no idea that there were clubs like that out there. i don't understand why girls would bother stripping somewhere like that and doing that kind of stuff... why not just be an escort or work in a massage place or something? i dunno... it all kinda fascinates me really

    Life after stripping
i'm only 21, so i've still got a long time before i'll be hanging up my stripper shoes.... but i've definitely given some thought as to what i'm gonna do afterwards. stripping isn't a career for me. i love it, it's great fun, but really it's just a means to an end. so i'm careful with the money i earn. i don't spend it all. by the time i finish stripping i hope to own a house with the money i've earned. while i've been stripping i've also done a whole lot of other stuff do - i'm a qualified makeup artist & hairstylist, i've done some work in radio announcing and would love to pursue that one day, and i've also studied graphic design and webdesign. so when i do quit stripping, it's not like i won't have somewhere to go. yeah i'll have to get used to not earning such huge amounts of cash, but i figure if i'm sensible while i am earning a lot, everything will work out in the end.

    Are Strippers Female Players?
davids, you seem to be strangely preoccupied all the time with the whole "men vs women" thing... anyway, i think the main difference between these female players and strippers, is the female players do it for fun/self gain, and any strippers who behave like that usually do it because pretending to be interested in someone to get their money is a job requirement. either way, i guess it's still faking interest for financial gain. hmm. very interesting article though!

    Survivors
unfortunately a lot of strippers are like that. many came from bad families, were abandoned, abused, treated like shit, dropped out of school, got into drugs at an early age, etc. for a lot of girls, that's why they become strippers... because they can't really do much else. i've worked with a lot of girls who have had lives so incredibly tough i can't even begin to imagine it. one girl was raped and abused as a kid, and has scars on her back from where her stepfather stabbed her, but she is one of the most beautiful, strong-hearted girls i have ever met, and i have so much respect for someone who can go through something like that and come out on top. just like your ATF, she's a true survivor. it's important to remember that not every stripper has a sad life story though. strippers come from all walks of life, all backgrounds. i'm lucky, i had it very easy, and i was never exposed to anyone who didn't. stripping has definitely made me open my eyes to and appreciate people who didn't!

in the club i worked at, whilst we certainly weren't encouraged to hit, kick, etc customers who broke the rules, management had an understanding that if someone tries to sexually abuse you, the first reaction for a lot of people is to swing a fist. i did club work for 2.5 years, and in that time i only became physically violent with 3 people. one girl kept squealing with laughter and screaming out "look how fat she is" while i was dancing on stage, so i slapped her and pushed her into a table. one guy tried to grab me and push me down while i was in the private LD room, i kicked him in the shin, scratched him and pushed him into a wall. the bouncers really hurt that fucker, hah. and i once punched some fat chick in the face because i was talking to a group of guys at a table, and she reached from behind, stuck her hand up my skirt and grabbed my crotch, thinking it was funny and ok because she's a girl. i never got into any trouble for that, i guess because everyone knows i'm not usually a violent person at all, and because they realise that in situations like that, sometimes you just snap. i'm not saying that i think it's ok to hit everyone who pisses you off. but strippers do put themselves in a very vulnerable situation, and security can't be there all the time. because i'm very very strict on my no contact rule, i have to be constantly alert and watching the guys hands. i think if a customer actually touched me between the legs, i'd kill them. if someone tried to sexually abuse me in the street, at a nightclub, anywhere, i'd hit them or fight back. i'm very clear at the beginning of a dance about my rules, there's signs posted all over the club and in the LD rooms reading "strictly no touching the girls at all times" and they announce it over the microphone all the time. but if some asshole STILL can't get it that he's not allowed to touch me after all that, then i think he deserves a smack in the face.

Stripper names and what they mean...
i use a stage name for a few reasons. a) because my real name (Laura), is not something i see as being sexy. it's old fashioned and boring! b) because my parents don't know i strip and i REALLY don't want them to find out because i REALLY don't want to be disowned, and it's easier to keep it secret if i'm using a fake persona. c) because it's fun to have a new, sexy name that you chose yourself! and hey, names aren't really important anyway. its not like it changes the person you are. in the words of shakespeare, "if you call a rose by any other name, does it not smell as sweet?"

    Life after stripping
it's very true that the money is really not what it used to be. don't get me wrong, it's still great, but it's not AMAZING like it used to be. i used to average approx AU$1700pw cash, now it's more like $900-$1100 it's also very true that the high-contact girls make a whole lot more than the non-contact girls. i worked briefly at a club that was supposedly "no contact" but was more like "you do whatever you want and we'll turn a blind eye to it cos it's pulling in the customers." i was the only girl there with strict no contact rules, and once the regulars realised this and the novelty of the 'new girl' wore off, i started earning on average $40 per day working from midday-9pm! needless to say i didn't last there very long and went back to a club where the no-contact rule was heavily enforced. some of the girls at that club made fucking phenomenal $$$$ though! that club was the only club in the city that allows contact, and surprisingly, the club only lasted about 6 months and went out of business. with that gone, i don't think the contact vs non contact thing affected my earnings at all, because we only had other non contact clubs to compete with. i think the fact that over time, my average earnings are slowly decreasing, will probably make it easier for me when i stop stripping. going from earning $1700 every single week, to all of a sudden earning $400 every week... that'd be really, really difficult

Are there any strippers out there who do high milage?
without wanting to generalize or be totally stereotypical, all the 'high mileage' girls that i've ever met haven't exactly been the most educated and classy girls. and from what i've seen, girls like that aren't exactly the type to spend time using internet message boards on a computer.

i've always felt that there's two types of strippers. those who view themselves as "entertainers" (i fall into this category, as do most other showgirls), and those who view themselves as objects of sexual gratification (the lapdancers in the less glitzy clubs). i'm an entertainer - i do elaborate stage performances in expensive, sparkly costumes, or i go to bachelor parties to perform, make everyone laugh at the bachelor and have a good time. performances like that are not about grinding and touching and getting the guy off. clubs like the ones you guys attend where you find plenty of high-mileage girls are much more-so about sexual gratification than entertainment. i think stripperweb consists primarily of girls who fall into the first category. i HAVE to see myself as an entertainer. if i felt otherwise, i don't think i could do the job, because to be completely honest (regardless of whether it is or isn't true), thinking of myself as a sexual object to grind on the laps of men 3 times my age so they can go home and masturbate, makes me feel sick. it's just a personal thing, and hey, more power to the girls who can do it cos they're the ones pulling in the big $$$! but if i personally believed that my purpose was to get guys off for money, i'd feel so dirty i don't think i could live with myself. that's part of the reason i gave up lapdancing to be a full time showgirl. i think there's probably a lot of strippers out there who have the exact same view as me.. i know most of the girls i've ever worked with do. we NEED to have that viewpoint, we NEED to feel we are above the girls doing extras, we NEED to believe that we are just sexy naked entertainers. we need to be arrogant and convince ourselves that what we are doing is not slutty and dirty because otherwise we couldn't do it. and i'm sure there's probably a number of high mileage girls out there posting to say that they don't do extras. but really.... "i give handjobs for money" isn't exactly the kind of thing anyone who calls themself a stripper would want to admit!!

oh, i am totally aware of that. it just makes the job a lot more bearable not to think about it. and i guess, what they do when they go home doesn't really bother me. i'd just get upset if they speak to me about it or anything like that. it just makes me feel very, very cheap & dirty. hence not being a lapdancer anymore and just doing show performances.

    Is it cheating?
like you said, if the partner doesnt know about it then yeah it is. i guess it wouldn't be cheating if the partner knew what you were doing for money. hmm.
