what's parked in your neighborhood?
Jascoi Mr Wonderful to single moms and college age girls...
I like old cars and the unusual cars
parked in your neighborhood. they're Maybe even your own backyard.
I will lead off with something Parked just down the street... Within a hundred yards of my cabin (that I inherited from my grandmother who bought it in 1949) .I will also add that 20 years ago seeing this Corvette would not even registered a bit but now it's something that has survived the 20 years Beyond.

last commentI think it's the 1978.
new rear window roof line, and of course the wheels.
I didn't know that 1978 was the 25th anniversary model which was usually silver in color. assuming this one is Factory correct in red... be one or later one or not one of the anniversary models...
yeah... I actually had a chance to buy a silver 1978 model but the dealer would not accept my $3,000 offer at the time. kind of same situation back in 1972 in Pasadena at sticks Unlimited on Colorado Boulevard I checked out a 1967 Corvette Roadster in Nice condition with a four-speed and the 390 horsepower 427 but thought they were overpriced asking $2,000.
obviously I should have bought both and kept my 1956 Corvette too.
I will admit as being a bit slow.
at least I had the pleasure of driving each and every one of them.
of course the cars that are built down there's a lot of them now that'll beat the shit out of these older muscle cars that can beat the shit out of them...
.* now*
not down.
so now I drive my badass Prius that is amazingly 14 years old.
although I need to take the head off and put the new improved head gasket on to continue my miles of pleasure---
at least I can still experience some thrill from acceleration with my 41 Cadillac with a 375 horsepower 1967 engine and also my BMW 1100 motorcycle and my 1996 Dodge 4x4 with a stick shift... although they certainly don't compare with my youngest daughters Tesla that can go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds-
Shadow Cat I bet you 3 seconds 0 to 60s a bit faster than your Mustang GT . (but not by much.)
but it doesn't count because I don't own it.
Nice and I'm liking this media feature
Yeah the best my 2024 automatic will do is 3.9 seconds. But I'll bet my cost for insurance is higher. $2408 for 12 months. No accidents in my 67 years of driving and no citation in over 10 years.
Shadow Cat you're doing pretty damn good! other than your insurance cost... no accidents and no tickets!!! wish I could say that.
I’m a bit of a corvette fanatic and was going to guess that was a 78. There were two special editions that year, the 25th anniversary was silver and grey, there was also an Indy pace car edition that was black and silver. In my neighborhood there’s a guy who has a red Magnum PI Ferrari. I think it’s a 308 but it might be a 328. There’s also a 67 GTO around that’s in mint shape.
You must be in the Hualapai’s? Body isn’t rusted at all. Dry with no salt on her. Body looks good and only needs paint.
Mate27 a Corvette has a fiberglass body so the bodies never rust on any of them.
My neighbor has a '64 Corvette he got as a Sr in high school, he's 68 years old.
It must be McLaren Monday in Miami Beach
