I always thought it was silly. Then my ATF called me "daddy" with a look in her eye. Not gonna lie, it sent a tingle through all of me.

Here in Florida the most common name the girls call me is Papi, doesn’t mean much to me, it’s the equivalent of me calling them babe.

Yeah that's some weird shit. I don't recall a stripper ever saying that to me, but it would be a turn-off. Papi I've heard a few times. While I don't particularly care for it, it's really the same thing as any other pet name. Baby, babe, hun, honey, sugar, sweetie, etc. "Daddy" may be in a sort of special category as it's something your kids may call you, but then "honey and sweetie" (and certainly others) are all things you can call both your kids and your spouse, so what's really the difference?

I think it’s more common in AA circles. It’s definitely more common in SW circles. I don’t want a civvie calling me daddy, it’s creepy. I don’t really care what a dancer calls me as long as it’s not too hostile.

Anyway, like others have said it's pretty common and pretty much goes in one ear and out the other for me. I go to clubs to forget that I’m decades older than the girls and don’t like any reminders of my age, including being called “daddy.” If a girl does it I just say I don’t like and they stop.
