Cultural Appropriation by Strippers
StripClubXpert
I recently patronized an exotic dancer at PL in NJ. Let’s call her Morocco. Morocco told me she was half French / half Persian. The exotic combination intrigued me. I thought I struck gold. After all how many half French / half Persian exotic dancers can there be in NJ? After talking to other dancers it sounds like Morocco is a far more pedestrian half black / half white mix.
After I realized what happened, I thought about the handful of times strippers have done this to me in the past. They pretend to be from a culture that is something other than what they are.
I am not sure if this bothers me. I think it is analogous to plastic surgery. If breast implants are done really well, who cares. If they look like they were bolted on, I would prefer that they were natural even if they were much much smaller. If an exotic dancer can fake another more exotic culture the same way Steven Spielberg faked dinosaurs in Jurassic Park then I’m okay with it. But if she says she is from another culture but does a poor job appropriating that culture, then I’d rather pass.

Back in the day, strippers were more likely to back each other up. It's a sign of the bad times, that they're more likely to undercut each other nowadays.
Hey, she’s not from the island of Mali (she’s really from Hoboken New Jersey) but if she looks and plays the hustle part convincingly? You’re in a SC, run with it.
True story: stripper tells me she’ll make delicious wildebeest sammys after she gets some lion lovin’. I figured she had some roast wildebeest and like a deli meat slicer and we could have them sammys after the deed. So I did my usual spectacular lion job of satisfying her but she just made frickin’ bologna sammys and called ‘em wildebeest. Damn lion chaser.
I can’t get too mad because she was frickin’ hot and I banged her, but still…it made me wanna ROAR!!!!
I agree completely.
Anyway, I’ve had a ton of Cuban dancers say that they’re Colombian or some other version of Latina. The Cuban reputation precedes them and they know it too.
Well said. As long it is not a he pretending to be a she I'm not offended by it at all. Just like I'm not offended by implants.
I just want the make believe to be reasonably convincing.
As to cultural appropriation, who gives a F? It’s not like there’s consequences to you if she’s lying, and it’s all pink on the inside. This weird hang up is so early 21st century elitism.
IMO, your interest in her due to mix or ethnicity may have more to do with personality than physical appearance. If you liked her due to believing she was French/Persian, then she opened her mouth and appeared to be from a much different background, then it was her personality you liked moreso than her appearance.
Another example of why strip clubs should be viewed simply as places to seek physical releases than emotional gratification.
Perhaps she sensed your interest in her based on initial comments to her related to her ethnicity, and ran with it. As someone else stated, it's all about the hustle.
Oh, you like sweet giggly girls?...then "giggle giggle hehe". Oh, you like badass bitches who slap and choke you, "sit down PL, while I stomp on your pathetic loser ass".
Not that we need yet another reason to keep emotions out of clubbing, but this is another example of why it's best to not get too deep into connections/conversations with these entertainers. Keep the fantasy alive, guys.
Let them pretend to be who we think they are, so we leave clubs having had a great time.
Some of them are as hot as balls until they speak. Then they reveal a harsh almost masculine accent.
But in Jersey I guess that holds true. Even the Asian girl at PH (Mercedes) was raised in Jersey with the typical Jersey accent.
Southern drawls are a huge turn on for me for some reason.
We were already in the LD room when she mentioned her half French/ half Persian ancestry. But perhaps she did realize it peaked my interest when I asked her if she had ever been to Iran (no) or France (no). I think an unusual background does make someone sound more interesting which is why, thanks to x I am know saying I am half Kenyan / half Saudi prince.
I don’t care where she is from but it does make them seem more interesting when they are in a club in Jersey.
Funny thing is I would probably not think her background is interesting at all if I met her in NYC. When a lady in NYC tells me she is from Georgia, I assume it is the Georgia that Russia is occupying and not the Georgia known for its peaches.
