Orange Man Going Down

The released details in the indictment are devastating. All the strong evidence comes direct from his own mouth or his workers and lawyers. Maybe the cult will finally collapse but who knows as we have so many low information voters out there.

^^^ He's supported by Republicans because he is still supported by the general public.

If the Republican nomination was being voted on right now, he'd win. And most likely will still win when it's held months from now unless he's behind bars to remove him from contention.

The way our justice system moves, especially for a figure like Trump, that is not likely to happen.

And if he somehow were to win the 2024 Presidential election but somehow got convicted to do jail time, the sentence would be postponed to allow him to serve the office!

And where exactly would a former President even do jail time? His house?? LOL!

We’ve always known there was corruption in Washington but Trump has forced that corruption out in the daylight. It is deeper, broader, and more blatant than we could have imagined. It’s 90% of politicians, 90% of government bureaucrats, and 90% of media. They are all crooks. They know if Trump gets back in, it’s all over for them. They will tell any lie, destroy any life, and break any law to stop him.

Trump is where he is because of his giant ego. And because he learned from his casino and other businesses that you can sell a dream to some people and they will buy into it hook, line and sinker. Despite solid evidence against him in the indictment, he's got some of his followers believing that it's all about government corruption, for which there is no evidence in relation to this indictment. And now he's fundraising off his followers yet again.

Judge Aileen Cannon will remain the judge in Trump’s espionage case.

The news of Judge Cannon’s assignment raised eyebrows because of her role in an earlier lawsuit filed by Mr. Trump challenging the F.B.I.’s search of his Florida club and estate, Mar-a-Lago. In issuing a series of rulings favorable to him, Judge Cannon, a Trump appointee, effectively disrupted the investigation until a conservative appeals court ruled she never had legitimate legal authority to intervene.

Trump is a child of privilege who’s never been called to account in his life, one thing you can always count on is whatever is the right thing to do, no matter the situation Trump will purposely, and knowingly, do the wrong thing, we all know it’s intentional , because he will lie about what he’s done, which shows awareness of what is right and wrong.

In a bit of irony, the Kentucky Fried President signed the law against mishandling classified documents, changing it from a misdemeanor to a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison in 2018 when he was trying to ‘lock her up.’
  • mark94
The President is the ultimate, all powerful, arbiter of classified documents under our system. It is legally impossible for him to mishandle documents unless he sells them to our enemies, as covered by the espionage act.

That’s the difference between what Hillary and then vice President Biden did and what then President Trump did.

You might not like that legal framework but it’s the law.
  • mark94

    Vivek explains

“The hard truth is that our laws vest *tremendous authority* in the President to make severe and sometimes awful judgments - to drop nuclear bombs, to invade Iraq in the name of WMDs, to botch an Afghanistan exit that leaves our weapons in the Taliban’s hands. That also includes deciding which documents are or aren’t Presidential records & federal courts have repeatedly said so including in the Clinton Sock Drawer ruling in 2012. If you don’t like the law, change the law. If you don’t like the President, elect a new one. That’s how our system works.”

You can’t put a former President in prison simply because you disagree with a decision he made while President. If you allowed that, every former President would be in jail. That would make it impossible to govern.

"He kind of does, and he’s kind of a cunt ... He's always been a cunt, though. You go back and listen to that guy lying about his education record and lying about his accomplishments and — like, he’s always been a problem."

"All the fucking stuff with his son and the ties to Ukraine and China and the money. The family, they got paid millions of dollars and everyone was trying to obscure it because, ‘Well, better than Trump. Better than Trump,’" Rogan told comedian Theo Von, adding that he "can't take it anymore."

"If that guy was a Republican, they would be up his ass with a microscope."

"I mean, it’s wild stuff, man. They even got the FBI involved in telling Twitter to censor the information about the laptop. It’s crazy," Rogan continued, adding: "The media is overwhelmingly left-leaning, and if you have a left-leaning politician or a left-wing Democratic politician, and then you have this media that essentially works to support that person."

    Breaking news

    Senator Grassley floor speech:

Foreign national allegedly has audio recordings. 17!! 15 audio between him and Hunter & 2 audio with him and then VP Joe Biden. Kept as insurance policy!
  • mark94
    Statement from Judicial Watch

First, we learn of FBI allegation (buried) that Burisma involved in bribe scheme that may have included "$5 million for one Biden, $5 million for the other Biden." And then today we learn from @ChuckGrassley that the FBI was told of allegedly 17 taped audio conversations between the Burisma source and the Bidens (including two with then-Vice President Joe Biden). This is on top of bank records evidence, Hunter laptop evidence, eyewitness testimony (Tony Bobulinksi) that implicate Joe Biden and his family in a broad and ongoing racketeering operation.

The Justice Department and FBI have long suppressed all this evidence and obstructed any investigations to help Joe Biden win election. There is no reason to think the FBI and DOJ will stop their election interference (see Trump indictment).

Judicial Watch will continue its numerous FOIAs and lawsuits to uncover more the truth. But when will Congress step up and launch an impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden (and, frankly, complicit DOJ/FBI officials)? If all this evidence isn't sufficient for impeachment action, it is hard to imagine what would be...

Anyone who defends the actions of trump by pinning to the Biden’s and Clinton getting away with their crimes are playing with a low wattage output in life. Republicans are the biggest advocates to punish the crimes that are committed by people, because republicans believe that if you don’t bring justice then that perpetuates crime and lets it continue. Therefore, if you’re a true Republican you should want a swift and just trial, and if found guilty convict the man so others will see by example these crimes can’t be committed.

On the other hand, if the defendant is truly innocent, he should want a swift and just trial to clear his name as soon as possible, but we all know Trump will delay, delay, delay and then in a likely conviction he will utilize the appeals process to extend even further. If anyone really wants the truth they’ll start pointing fingers at the defendant and prosecutors to get this going ASAP! But
It wont happen, because people only want to see and hear what their preconceived notions are to confirm their bias.

America is a "nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the notion that all men are created equal" with "government of the people, by the people, and for the people." That career politicians and insiders like Joe Biden and both Bill and Hillary Clinton can commit multiple felonies without prosecution - cover for them being run by the Director of the FBI, Attorney General, and others- while outsiders and political rivals are maliciously prosecuted is the core argument of Trump/Biden/Clinton whataboutism - not comparison of crimes. Bill Clinton is absolutely proven to have committed perjury and engaged in sexual extranarital affairs with his intern. The Director of the FBI admitted that Hillary broke federal law by keeping classified information on an illegal unsecured server which we know to have been hacked and repeatedly accessed by our enemies. Joe Biden is on tape admitting that he extorted the government of Ukraine by threatening to withhold funds unless they fired the prosecutor investigating his son's placement on the board of Burisma AND unlawfully taking classified docs to be kept scattered all throughout the eastern seaboard.

The ruling class is not subject to the same set of laws and justice that the rest of us are. If that does not outrage you, then you are a shitty excuse for an American.

    They support him because:
A: He validates, endorses, condones, and appeals to their xenophobic racism, misogyny, and bigotry. Even though he shares just enough of it to keep their support.

B: He's not a Democrat. While I sympathize with that somewhat, there are far better choices in *both* parties than Trump.

The woman, who was the wife of former executive Mykola Lisin, was found dead before she had a chance to testify. Her Husband also died in 2011 in a mysterious car accident when Biden was VP. Their son was also beaten and kidnapped in Kyiv, Ukraine. Also, even though Lisin was an MP in Ukraine and prominent businessman, his entire history has been almost completely scrubbed from the internet.

Most of them are speculative with statements "probably hacked", "subject of hacking attempts", "hackers really did try" etc. The hacker Guccifer later admitted his claim was a lie. None are supported by the later reports from Trump's FBI in 2018 and the Republican Senate in 2019. Gammanu continues to lie and ignore the facts to save face. Truly pathetic. I can understand why so many people hate Donald Trump. He is rude, crude, and has a huge ego.

In the other hand, he gave us
    No wars
    Middle East peace
    Strong American Economy
    No inflation
    Growing 401Ks
    Market profit
    Low gas prices
    A secure oil reserve
    Lower taxes
    A strong dollar

And, all this, while much of Washington lied and spied to undercut his efforts.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden has destroyed the economy and gotten us into a proxy war with Russia. On the plus side, he has supported the transgender community.

It will be a tough decision in 2024.

^ That list is mostly the result of Trump riding Obama's coattails. There are many charts you can pull up that show it was a continuation of strong trends in place for many years under Obama. It also ignores Covid, which while not Trump's fault, turned many things upside down and lead to metrics that show the country was in much worse shape when he left office, the standard metric for judging a president.

So to play along with the narrative above, we must focus only on pre-Covid. In this context, Trump had it easy, inheriting a strong economy from Obama, no wars and no fallout from Covid.

What can we truly attribute to Trump?
    - A giant tax cut where 70% of the savings went to the richest 5%.
    - Meanwhile, the federal debt went up from $14 trillion to $21 trillion.
    - Global opinion of US sank to historic lows.

Trump was a one-term president for a good reason, and he only got that one term with help from a sophisticated Russian campaign of interference approved by Putin, who had determined that a Trump White House would help secure Moscow’s strategic objectives. That alone should give Americans pause.

Trump's conduct since he lost in 2020 has proven him wholly unworthy of serving as President again. Republicans should pick another candidate like Chris Christie, who did a nice job in the CNN Town Hall last week.

During Biden's 1st year in office, S&P500 index increased 21%. During Biden's 2 year in office, S&P500 index DECREASED 13%. If you're associating conditions with carryover from prior President, then I suppose Trump gets credit for the first year increase, and Biden is responsible for the drop in Year 2. Even now, we have not quite returned to level of 01/01/22.

People often vote based on their financial state. This doesn't bode well for the Democrats.

"The deception here is squarely on the right wingers, who want to conveniently ignore Covid as they try to pin inflation, etc. entirely on Biden."

I suppose you're going to blame Biden's spending spree when inflation was _already happening_ on Trump too? Including his Orwellianly-named "Inflation Reduction Act" which was mostly more spending tossed down the green money pit.

Biden owns inflation. Full stop. He picked America's pocket. He fucked it up, and now he wants credit for fucking up less bad.

    No, no, no.

I do want to thank Joe Biden for one thing. His IRA established hundreds of billions for subsidizing “ sustainable energy” ( whatever that means ). A big chunk of this money is now flowing to Tesla.

In late April, I put about 80% of my life’s savings into Tesla stock. It’s up 60% since then.

I think the IRA was horrible for the country but I decided to take advantage of it.

Tetradon's last post = right wing deception

Inflation has been a global issue, due to a combination of a historic pullback in spending during Covid and disruption in supply chains. Net result = tremendous imbalance of demand outpacing supply post-Covid. Biden's spending was a real but minor contributor in the US. The CPI is now down to about 4%, from about 9% last year. We've done much better than Europe.

You don't get to pump a shitload of money into the market and claim that didn't exacerbate inflation. Would have been even less if he hadn't. Definition of the term.

Lol down to 4%. Vote for me because I put out part of the fire I created. Hell of a campaign slogan.

Lots of shouting in here about how everyone and everything on both sides sucks. I’m having to choose among Christie, Haley and Scott in the primary. The Dotard will still be under indictment and awaiting trial not only for ignoring a subpoena and hiding documents from the feds but likely also for trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. If we elect him as the republican nominee I’m going to be forced to vote for Biden again. Shitty choice.

Yes, literally. The fact that it was the stupidest plan ever does not change the fact that he attempted it. John Eastman, the lawyer who came up with the theory that Pence could overrule the electorate, told Mango Unchained that his own legal theory was wrong, yet he tried it anyway. The Dotard asked the GA Secretary of State to “find votes.” There’s no reasonable interpretation of that other than asking a public official to commit fraud. The list goes on and on. But you know that. He’s unfit to serve. Give me another option besides that asshole but I stand by that a vote for Big Mac Donald is a vote against the rule of law, which is what my party prides itself on standing for.

“He literally tried to overthrow the government”

Trump told the crowd to be peaceful, both before and during the episode. He offered Pelosi 10,000 national guard to protect the Capitol and she turned him down. The police opened the doors to the people. No weapons were found on anyone. Only two people died, both unarmed female Trump supporters killed by cops. The “ pipe bombs” had no explosive charge. It is almost certain that Ray Epps, who constantly urged people to enter the Capitol, was an FBI plant.

I am “literally” certain this was an FBI false flag operation.

  • Hank Moody

I’m not talking solely about the insurrection.

    No evidence of voter fraud.
No sound legal theory that Pence can refuse to certify the vote.
Trump sends fake electors to vote for him.
Trump tries to convince GA SOS to “find votes”

You disagree he was trying to stay in power?

No matter. It will be up to a jury to decide. He’s a traitor.
  • mark94
Of course he was trying to stay in power. Legally.

He wanted State legislatures to use their constitutional power to investigate, and rule, on fraud allegations. He needed Mike Pence to send the electoral college votes back to the States. All legal. Spelled out in the Constitution.

He wanted Secretaries of State to do their duty. Investigate allegations of fraud. Not only legal, but their duty.

The brilliance of what the Dems did in several cities was
    - Add votes in the dead of night when the poll watchers weren’t present
    - Use their friends in media to declare the election over
    - Ridicule anyone who questioned what just happened

As we now see, uncovering the fraud, and proving it, would take months. In fact, with Secretaries of States refusing to comply, and covering up, it could take years. All the while, media ridiculing “ election deniers “.

The legal action taken by Kari Lake has revealed at least some of what a corrupt Maricopa County ( Phoenix ) did to steal the election in 2020. But, at this point, a court is unlikely to overturn it.

In Basketball, when t here's serious money on the game, nobody's a good sport. Some players limit themselves to taking shit about the other players family/loved ones to psych out their opponents. But they avoid getting fouls called on them. Like how Biush, Obama, Clinton (and Trump) can wage forever wars, causing pointless bloodshed, buy they don't care, because that's not breaking the rules. Trump is analogous to a player who throws elbows, gets fouls called on him, but is careful not to take it so far as to get ejected from the game. That's why all the criminal investigations of him have ended up being nothing burgers. Don't hold your breath waiting to see him in jail.
  • mark94

“You must be thinking about taking some off the table.”

Nope. Over the next 18 months, Tesla should have a dozen triggers for rapid stock increases of 5% or much more. The next two are the reveal of the updated Model 3 and production of Cybertruck.

Within the next 12 months, we should see full self driving plus monster sales figures for large scale energy storage. Both these could become trillion dollar businesses. None of that is reflected in the current stock price.

I expect TSLA to reach $400 by early next year and at least $1,000 by 2026. That would work out to 60%/year for the next 3 years. I think that’s realistic.

    I won’t be selling TSLA until 2027.

The latest Tesla news is they are purchasing a company that produces wireless charging for vehicles. They will modify their superchargers and home chargers so you just need to park over the plate. No more plugging in.

That’s the kind of innovation they are making almost monthly. No other company innovates at that pace.

If Tesla can make the Robotaxi, their stock price could hit $2,000 by 2027. Each robotaxi could generate a million dollars of revenue over a 10 year lifespan. It would cost $20,000 to build and very little to operate.

That’s science fiction type stuff, but the necessary technology already exists.
  • mark94
Then, there’s the Optimus robot. Tesla has already built the robot hardware and is testing it. Now, it’s a matter of using artificial intelligence to train it to do specific tasks.

It can currently do simple, repetitive tasks, like screwing in bolts or carrying material. As such, it would already be useful in factories. As the AI improves, it will be able to perform more complicated tasks.

I expect Tesla to begin using these robots in its own factories soon. They will constantly improve them. At some point they will lease them on the open market. Beyond factory work, they could be used for construction or firefighting, as two examples.

The potential market, for replacing human workers in simple tasks, is a billion robots. If they lease them at $50,000 per year, that’s $50 trillion PER YEAR ! They won’t reach that level in my lifetime but it’s inevitable they will at some point.
  • mark94
Incidentally, if this all plays out, with robotaxis replacing private car ownership, robots doing most physical work, and AI doing the mental work, the world will be very different 40 or 50 years from now.

Tesla just announced they're going to start making their own supercomputer, the Dojo, this July.

Elon Musk said they'd only start when they had a solution that's more capable and cheaper than what nVidia offers, and it looks like that time has come.

Add this to another potential trillion dollar business that Tesla is entering.

Right now, Tesla stock price reflects everyone’s best guess about a half dozen business segments that won’t see revenue streams for 1-3 years. If none of them work out, it will suck to be me. If 3 or 4 work, I’ll be crazy rich. I like my odds.

The better question is why the
Media is completely ignoring RFK Jr who is doing surprisingly well compared to the incumbent. Democrats have already announced they will not allow debates, repeating Joe’s campaign from the basement.

    I wonder why ?
  • Tetradon
RFK Jr is going against a sitting president who is pretty popular with his own party. If Biden isn't caught with his dick inside his dog, the nomination is his. I don't know why "conservatives" suddenly have a hard on for a hardcore net zero green just because he hates the vax and hangs out with the right people.

As for Trump, Dems _want_ him front and center. Because Biden beat Trump already and Trump isn't helping his cause every time he opens his fat ass mouth. Fear of Trump is the best turnout motivator the Democrats have. Trump might narrowly lead in the polls right now because everyone forgot how sick of him they were in 2020--that's his peak, not his trough. And Biden get sleepwalk his way to another win, and the ensuing fiscal policy-induced inflation, high gas prices, crime, porous borders, and transing kids fucks America up even further.
  • Hank Moody

    But what about
  • ilbbaicnl
My bet is that Trump is waiting for his fund raising off of being indicted to taper off. Then he'll work out a sweet plea deal, similar to what Jeffery Epstein got. He's just not in the same "justice" system that us little people are. People inclined to vote for him will just shrug it off. Just like they did him being judged probably guilty of sexual assault by a jury.
  • Hank Moody
That’s what a reasonable person would do. I don’t think he can accept a plea. It would be admitting guilt and his whole message has been that it’s a hoax and he’s innocent. He may be past the point of no return. The time to make a deal was when the docs were subpoenaed. Once the fbi executed the search warrant and discovered how he was hiding docs, he made his bed. Even then, he wouldn’t have been prosecuted if they didn’t discover the tape of him admitting he was waiving around a classified doc to randos. This whole mess didn’t need to happen, but now we’re all stuck with it.
