Dr. Oz vs Uncle Fester

Kamala, you're FIRED!
Holy shit, is anyone else watching this? Jesus, this must be the funniest thing I've seen since the first time I watched Old School and I was stoned off my ass during that.

They showed Fetterman his own quote from a few years ago that said something to the effect of, "I am completely against fracking and will not stand for it." Then they showed a recent quote that said, "I have always supported fracking." They asked him to explain the position change.

His response was like, "Um, I support fracking. It's important fracking. I've always supported and to frack I support."

Oh fuck, this guy is shot. If more than five people in PA vote for him, there's something seriously wrong with that state.

^^ chimera - Yes, you definitely "should" do better than that, but sometimes it's about doing the best with what you actually have. That "shaved ape" would probably lose a debate with a real ape. I'm not a fan of Oz, but given no other choice, I'd have to vote for him over Fetterman. I can't believe they even let this guy go out on the stage. He looked like he swallowed four hits of acid with a fifth of Jack Daniel's.

I listened to an interview with Oz yesterday on Fox News, he was saying that Fetterman wants to legalize all drugs, even heroin. This seemed pretty radical to me, and coming from a Republican politician on Fox News, it sounded dubious. Low and behold, when I did a search on it, it turned out to be a lie.

Fetterman, who has famously advocated for legalizing marijuana, in 2015 told The Nation magazine he would go even further: “I’m for decriminalizing across the board. I see it as a public-health issue, not a criminal issue."

"In 2015, Fetterman told the Nation magazine that he was for decriminalizing drugs “across the board. I see it as a public-health issue, not a criminal issue.” However, in an interview with the PennLive editorial board last week, he said, “I never for once advocated legalizing any of these things. ... It was simply only about addressing having an honest conversation about addiction.”"

Here is a quote from the last article you linked:

“John is an outspoken advocate for weed legalization and has always believed we should not be criminalizing addiction,” his spokesperson Joe Calvello said. “We need to make sure that we are locking up drug dealers who are pushing and profiting from hard drugs, while making sure that people get real help if they are addicted. But let’s be clear, John does not support decriminalizing all drugs including heroin, methamphetamines, and other hard drugs.”

Older people with health issues that interfere with their mental functioning need to be gently moved aside in order to let younger people or same age people in better health replace them. Even worse than Fetterman is our current president. He just called Kamala Harris "a great president". If this were just an isolated incident, it could be overlooked but this type of thing is a regular occurrence.

Logic. People need to use it more.

Example - I don’t want to go to work today, but I do want to get a paycheck, so I get up and go to work. See? I used logic to help me make my decision.

Why on earth do people who are running our government not use logic when they open their mouths as well as to make decisions?

I would consider running for office and using strictly logic, but with my luck during the campaign a stripper named Wynter would call me out for getting a BJ at One Eyed Willys strip club back in 2014 which would torpedo my campaign, so I just post on a strip club message board instead.

I suspect that this debate seriously hurt Fetterman. I'm sure he didn't want to do it at all, but only did so because his unwillingness to debate Oz was being used as a cudgel and his poll numbers were sliding. IMHO he would have been better off trying to find another way to boost his numbers rather than putting himself on display like that. Ouch.

^The true problem is that Americans blame everyone but the people responsible for the absolute lying, cheating shithead garbage we elect, because accepting blame is very tough for human beings. Americans get the representatives we so richly deserve. The founding Fathers didn't see politician as a career or even a paid job. They didn't envision illiterates voting. The system was designed to have the wealthy serve for free, based on the idea they were rich, had the time, were self-supporting and owed it to us. The common person had no time because we were just trying to survive. Educated landowners who had a long-term stake in the community were supposed to be the voting public. Now we get people I wouldn't let fold my clothes, choosing who will run the country. Detocqueville was almost as smart as George Orwell in predicting this outcome. "A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority discovers it can vote itself largesse out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result that democracy collapses because of loose fiscal policy, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy. Student loan cancellation, let's make inflation worse spending bill; stimulus 1, stimulus 2, transportation bill, reparations, welfare, free medical, no college tuition, basic income, millionaire's tax, flooding the country with poverty stricken illegals ........................

The most shocking part of that entire Oz-Fetterman mess is that the MSM and democrat establishment actually support Fetterman. Where are the adults to intervene and stop his candidacy? This is why populist votes don't always work. This would be fine for a state rep. A person with cardiovascular disease and trouble forming full sentences would be a perfect representative for most Pennsylvanians, but Senators are supposed to be our best and brightest - not Oz, Schumer, Clinton, or Obama. Appointments to the Senate should be sent back to state legislatures and serve a single 10-year term. Let the hacks run for representative every two years.

If you want change from present direction, vote Republican (I'm a registered Independent myself) regardless of how much you like or dislike the candidates themselves.

Muddy has the right idea. In addition to crime issue, mine would be 1) Energy Independence (Knock off attacking oil/fracking industry) 2) Weak foreign policy which emboldens Putin, Xi, etal, to make rash moves that directly or indirectly hurt worlds population) 3) Open borders

I won't elaborate on above, except in political thread, or in a club setting if you're buying.

As usual, w4t has no clue what he is talking about. After 6 months, you have recovered as much as you are going to. There may be some marginal improvement over years as the brain learns to compensate, but that is often offset by age-related mental deterioration exacerbated by the prior stroke. They very fact that he continues to run after suffering a stroke and making all of these failures is proof that he cannot make good decisions. However, none of that matters.

What Minnow wrote is true. You are going to vote on party lines. Do you want record-high inflation? Do you want record-high gas prices? Do you like China controlling the UN, Russia trampling the rights of its neighboring states, and Iran free to pose an existential threat to the Holy Land? Do you like lawlessness at the southern border, do you like crime spiking in every urban area and spreading to the suburbs, do you like shortages of basic necessities caused by incompetent government? Are you a fan of men taking over womens' sports, bathrooms, and LGBTQIA+ indoctrination in every Sunday school, pre-school, and childrens' library? How stupid Fetterman is will not change that, nor will how demented Biden is. You vote the party. You vote for BIG red wave, that can impeach Joe Biden, impeach Kamala Harris, and get us the hell out of this mess.

I'm not an Oz fan, but as I wrote before: you are voting to repair the damage done by the democrat party and reverse course. Moreover, any Republican candidate had a duty to the people to drag Fetterman out of his basement and put the effects of his stroke on display. "PA Secretary Of State Says Election Results Face Possible Delays In Counting, Denounces ‘Nefarious’ Activity"

Pennsylvania acting Secretary of State Leigh M. Chapman said during a news conference that the state’s midterm election could likely experience delays in counting the ballots.

Chapman said the news conference was held to prevent misinformation from spreading before the November 8 election day approaches, according to local media.

“It’s really important for us to get accurate information about the election process in Pennsylvania,” Chapman said. “So voters and the public know that when there are delays in counting, it doesn’t mean that there’s anything nefarious happening. It’s just what the law is in Pennsylvania.”

Chapman told NBC that results for the U.S. Senate and governor races would not be available on election night because of a state law restricting when officials could begin counting mail-in ballots. However, Chapman also said she believes the spread of misinformation could lead to voting interruptions.

Chapman said that since she has taken office at the beginning of the year, state officials have met with authorities from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to discuss the “current threat landscape.”

The state official added that tools would be provided to Pennsylvania counties to ensure election officials would have physical and cyber security protections.

In response to Republican leaders telling voters to drop off their ballots in election drop boxes or turn them in on Election Day rather than mailing in their votes, Chapman said voters should return the ballots as soon as possible to prevent further delay.

Phillip Holloway, a former major crimes prosecutor, police officer, and founder of the Holloway Law Group, said in a tweet that such ballot-counting tactics are becoming “the norm.”

“Gone are the days when election winners were revealed late on election night,” Holloway said. “This new normal for elections cannot lead to public confidence in election integrity.”

During the 2020 presidential election, media outlets declared Joe Biden the winner for Pennsylvania on November 7 — four days after Election Day.

According to Chapman, more than 1.3 million Pennsylvania residents have requested mail-in ballots, with approximately 556,000 returned.

InsiderAdvantage released a poll Thursday showing Republican Mehmet Oz leads Democrat John Fetterman for Pennsylvania’s open U.S. Senate seat by three points, while in the governor’s race, Democrat Josh Shapiro continues to hold off Republican Doug Mastriano by eight points.

The survey of 750 likely Pennsylvania voters was conducted on October 26 with a margin of error of 3.58%.

^ no worries - according to the article "the uncorruptable FBI" is on the case.

The country of France recently managed to do a NATIONAL election and have all votes counted the same day (no early voting shit; mail-in shit; and just using paper-ballots) - but I"m sure places like Philly are "corruption-proof" when it comes to elections.

IMO the only real-chance the Dems have in many areas is "election irregularities" - I can see a shit-show happening this cycle w.r.t. the votes/count (and not only in PA but also other contested areas like GA etc).

More related Philly news:

"Philly Deputy Sheriff Caught On Camera Illegally Selling Guns Used By Illegal Alien In Fatal School Shooting: Report"

Federal law enforcement officials arrested 29-year-old Philadelphia Deputy Sheriff Samir Ahmad on Thursday after they caught him on video allegedly selling firearms that were used in a fatal school shooting by an illegal alien to an FBI informant who posed as an illegal alien.

Ahmad, who joined the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office in February 2018, was a sworn law enforcement officer when he allegedly sold the two handguns and ammunition to the confidential informant.

The confidential informant paid Ahmad $3,000 for the firearms and told him that he was illegally in the U.S. and that he could be “deported” if he was caught with the guns.

“You don’t got to worry about none of that,” Ahmad responded.

After the exchange, Ahmad was fired by Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office and arrested by federal agents.

I've noticed pretty much the same right wing playbook each election cycle, especially when Republicans are trying to regain power.

The right wing media and politicians run a constant narrative of "the country is in great danger and this is the most important election of our lifetime." The same or similar stories are repeated over and over and over, creating a distorted image in the minds of their followers. Many of these people don't even realize their perception is being manipulated. Of course, most people will bristle at the idea that they are being manipulated and aren't thinking independently. But if they would unplug from the right wing machine for awhile, they might notice the effect.

There are a couple of posters right here on TUSCL that could be the poster child for how well the right wing machine is doing it's job.

Funny, I didn't realize people trying to "subvert democracy" wore costumes rather than tactical gear and rifles.

Anyways, keep trying to stoke fear of someone who isn't on the ballot and doesn't even have his preferred tool of communication.*

Meanwhile real people are hurting and gravitate towards issues where Republicans have the advantage. Democrats should think long and hard about why they're losing 2022 like they are, but introspection isn't their strong suit.

Wow, is this thread getting melodramatic. Look, I agree 100% that the hyperbole coming from both sides - right and left - is getting silly. I drown most of that goofy nonsense out.

But specifically as it relates to Fetterman, he showed everyone what he was when he got his pants pulled, bent over the table and fucked with an elephant dick with the fracking question. Maybe if he wasn't so fucked up in the head he could have come up with a more convincing lie to cover his tracks, but there it is.

That is the problem with these extreme liberals - they know they have to lie to get elected because their positions, if truly known, would be deeply unpopular. They simply figure that the ends justify the means and that, once in charge, they'll know what's best for everyone. We've seen it with Obama and Biden, complete 180s the second they get in office. It is truly concerning to see behavior like that from our elected leaders.

Kind of funny that the best the Democrats could do is a rich guy who never worked hard, pulled a shotgun on a man because he was black and had a stroke leaving him a feeb.

Saw that Oprah endorsed Fetter-freak

Not sure if she still has the influence she once had when she could mention a book title and it would sell millions of copies, but wondering why she is interjecting herself in a state race where she doesn’t live

2Icee if you hate Dr. Oz that much, then you should hire Fetterman to perform heart surgery on you.

"... but wondering why she is interjecting herself in a state race where she doesn’t live ..."

I was wondering the same thing - especially Fetterman of all people - my "guess" is that she was asked to do so by the Dems-powers-to-be (Barry etc?) and perhaps she felt she had to go to bat for the Dem team?

So you guys only like carpetbaggers if they’re on your side, let’s be fair here, nobody on either the left, nor the right, likes carpetbaggers coming in telling us common folks how to live.
I’m not from, nor in Pennsylvania, but I’ll bet they feel the same way.

Oprah endorses Fetterman - and her timing was perfect. She was the one who made Oz famous on TV. Oh man that's got to hurt Oz, at least on a personal level. We'll see how it impacts voting.

I watched the following short interview with Fetterman, he was pretty well spoken. The contrast in authenticity between him and Oz is amazing.

You actually think Oprah matters, LOL?! She is no more relevant than you are credible. Such a tool!

An absolute joke. Fetterman is unfit to serve. Reading between the lines even the liberal NY Times had an article describing his difficulties and approached saying he is unfit

It's interesting that if he becomes physically unable to serve (ie: drop dead or in a coma) the Democrat governor of PA will name his replacement.

Haha - Now this whack-job has checked into a hospital for treatment of clinical depression.

And another fun fact I just read about: On top of the stroke that made him a retard, he's got both a pacemaker and a defibrillator implanted in his chest because of heart problems.

Dude is a fuckin mess. He's about half a tomato short of becoming a total vegetable. I hope PA voters are happy with their choice.

I’d like to hear a voter justify their choice.

If it was vote purely along political lines, that’s horrible

October 2022:

Pennsylvania Democratic Senate nominee John Fetterman is “recovering well from his stroke” and “has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office,” according to a medical report released Wednesday by the lieutenant governor’s primary care physician.

Depression is a known consequence of the neurological damage from a stroke.

I know we're going to hear "what about Oz"--yeah, what about you dumb ding dongs choosing better in the Dem primary? Fetterman was a trust fund baby turned mayor of a dying Rust Belt town. What in there made you think he could handle the US Senate?
