Some of Mahers commentary is common sense but most is for shock value. The problem with the Democrats is the party is the party moves to the right and acts impotent so as not to upset its corporate sponsors.

Very few will mention that Biden and Manchin have the same campaign donors and that being a reason why Biden won't stand up to him. It's corruption.

Even the progressive caucus sold out and supports the establishment.

The squad are the only ones openly fighting for the American people.

We need to move in a Progressive direction, and this is what will save us from economic and ecological disaster.

But even what Biden tried to do, could not get through the Senate. The public listend to Fox News and to Sunday Sermons at Born Again Churches, and they respond to talk about inflammatory wedge issues.

Manchin was right, the Squad is a Twitter phenomenon. They couldn't do jack shit with House, Senate, White House, they're going to lose 2 next year and probably the third in 2024.

If AOC looked like Pramila Jayapal, no one would know her name. The rest just bitch about being victims or latch onto the latest progressive hoax.

They're full of impotent whiny rage, which explains why they're popular among certain people here.

AOC is the typical infantile useless young person. Backs a mask mandate and then heads south to party in a red state with none. Illegally takes campaign contributions and pays the fag she's fucking. Always wants to buy votes with money, just not her money. Not paying for the vermin who supports her. Let the world end tomorrow.
  • Tetradon

@Icee, thank you for that hanging curveball.

We can talk about them biting on progressive media hoaxes like the honesty of Jussie Smollett
Or that inflation was transitory, no wait, only a matter of Pelotons getting delayed, no wait, Putin, no wait, Trump, no wait, something no president has power over
That the Southern border is secure, and illegal immigrants and fentanyl aren't pouring over in unmatched quantities
That global warming and trans rights are the greatest concern facing society
That you can magically be a woman if you decide you are one day, but your race is immutable and set for life
That the American people are clamoring for single payer healthcare when it can't pass in blue states
That there is a systemic campaign to disenfranchise voters
That Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman whose story has no credibility
That Donald Trump called neo-Nazis "very fine people"

And that's just what I could think of in a couple minutes.

They've got the majority, got rid of the Big Bad Trump Wolf, and still got nothing done but a bunch of bitchy tweets. Some record of accomplishment. BTW she "mini-me" of the Squad, Ayanna Pressley, is a district or two over and always good for a laugh.

@Icee, "anti-progressive talking points" are also called "reality." "Identity politics" are also known as "the foundation of culture and education, from which policies form downstream."

I'll repeat myself, what bills has the Squad passed? What have they done? And please don't give me this "shifting the public discourse" crap. Their policies are pure wishcasting, because they're well to the left of any sane American. I don't care what they take up, because they get precisely jack done but bitch about being Muslim in America (Omar) or how everyone wants to secretly fuck them (AOC).

What are the left's poverty policies doing right now? Who does inflation hurt? People on fixed incomes (welfare, SS). And don't give me the "corporations are greedy" crap. They've always been what they've been, that's not a change.

Lazy comment. In fact, they overlap less than ever.

The country has done fine without the Squad's craziness. In fact, with just the pandemic relief package, we've got 8.5% inflation. The Green New Deal would send inflation into the stratosphere, drive HCPs out of business like nothing going, and starve us of energy in a way that makes what's going on in Germany look like child's play.

Thankfully Americans are generally smart and pragmatic enough to reject that level of insanity.

"In July 2020, Breed announced her plan to defund the police — cutting $120 million from law enforcement to fund social programs. Result? Crime skyrocketed. Today, San Francisco is more dangerous than 98 percent of U.S. cities. In November alone, there were 3,375 reports of larceny theft citywide. In the Central District, home to many of the city’s tourist hot spots, there were 876 reports of smash-and-grabs — almost 30 a day — a 98 percent increase from the year before. In the Tenderloin district, there are midday shootings and residents are forced to walk in the middle of the streets to avoid drug dealers and homeless people lying on the sidewalk shooting up. San Francisco residents now have a 1 in 16 chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime."

"many of the worst hit cities have defunded the police and eliminated officer positions. Minneapolis cut $8 million from the police budget. Oakland cut $14.6 million. Portland cut $15 million. Philadelphia cut $33 million. Seattle reduced its police budget by $46 million, and the SPD has shrunk by nearly 270 police officers in the past 18 months. New York cut police funding last year by a whopping $1 billion, while more than 2,500 officers left the department."

"Last year, New York saw a 44 percent increase in homicides over 2019. This year, the homicide rate is down 0.5 percent — virtually unchanged. So de Blasio wants credit for maintaining the disastrous homicide rates of 2020?"

BTW ask BLM if "defund" means "abolish" or not.

"Always when this is studied, the people who worry about crime the most are the people who live in the lowest crime rate areas. And usually their fears are very racial in nature."

It is statistics, not racism, that 90% of white/black interracial assaults are committed against black people against white people, and black people commit over half of all murders. Specifically, young black males.

Jesse Jackson said he's relieved when he sees someone walking behind him, and they turn out to be white.

Now, I'm paranoid of _everyone_ when I walk down the street, but if the stats say that elderly Asian dwarves were responsible for that proportion of crime, I'd keep my eyes a lot lower to the ground, and watch my back around nursing homes in Chinatown. As would anyone with half a brain.

"Aggravated assaults in America rose by an estimated 12.4 percent, while the murder rate increased by a staggering 29.4 percent—the single largest year-over-year increase on record.

Interestingly, violent crimes did not peak in March, April, and May (the months in which most of America was actually locked down), but rather in the summer—after the death of George Floyd and subsequent nationwide move against policing in many major liberal cities."

"A full 80.5 percent of the victims had an unknown relationship to their killer or were acquaintances or strangers, indicating that the murders arose not because of tight living quarters during COVID lockdown, but rather because of drug or gang activity or arguments between people who are prone to violence and/or have extensive criminal records.

This trend held up nationwide as well, as just 7 percent of victims were spouses or significant others and approximately 15 percent could be classified as victims of domestic abuse homicide. 85 percent were either acquaintances with their killers, did not know them, or had an unknown relationship.

Again, this signifies that the spike in murders last year was most certainly not due to COVID-19 lockdowns, but rather the monthslong lawlessness allowed to fester on America’s streets in the wake of Floyd’s death."
