Does anybody here use this app? How safe is it?

I use WhatsApp, usually for texting and calling when I am overseas. I believe it is encrypted. I have no idea how secure it is.

We use it for our office communication. It’s safe and encrypted

While I haven't used it in years, so don't remember first-hand, 30s of googling reveals that there's no way to hide your phone number from your contacts on WhatsApp. If that's true, if you're comfortable with your stripper friends knowing your real name, address, and where you work -- since it's easy to find those things off your real phone number -- then you're good to go. Otherwise, stick with a second line like google voice, or go full teenager and switch to kik

For adult fun purposes, there are more private options.

Exactly. Or maybe the way to say it is, WhatsApp is private but not anonymous.

Private: WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption with a good reputation among the security community. Your messages are private between you and your CF, they can't be intercepted and read, even by WhatsApp themselves

Anonymous: You are NOT anonymous on WhatsApp; your CF can get your phone number and figure out who you are. If you wouldn't text her with your real phone number, don't message her with WhatsApp

That whole real phone number thing is what threw me. Thanks for confirming my bias against it. lol

I’ve been using Textfree but it’s a pain in the ass sometimes. Might try google voice and see how that works.

Do you have to pay to use WhatsApp?

Do your P4P women get your real phone number, or do you use something like Burner Phone too?

WhatsApp eliminates some text messaging charges, that is the reason for it?

WhatsApp is free and while it is claimed to be end to end encrypted - do you really believe that a Facebook owned company is being honest?

You can look it up and they tell how many details outside of the messages are shared with Govts. So it becomes a game of technicalities and metadata analysis rather than specific messages.

That said, they likely don't care about you fucking OTC or with escorts.

    ^^^^^ Thx

Do your P4P women get your real cell phone number, or do you use Burner Phone or something else with it?

Honestly - as long as they are legal, of age etc etc etc (things I hope are a given) - just use WhatsApp/Snapchat. Nobody gives a shit about you fucking a 25 year old.

Personally speaking - if you want to be as private as possible - get a burner phone that you pay for in cash, re-up in cash and remove the battery and only plug the battery in when you plan to use it. Cycle it every X weeks/months.

Do not plug the battery in from your own personal home/work/vehicle.

But at some point you'll ask how paranoid you need to be.

Just might be easier if different types of associates are on different phone numbers.

Not concerned about "legal" issues, just convenience.

    Thanks,

Also, what if one female sees communications coming into my phone. Better if levels of security can be applied.

    Not legal issues though.

I’ve been using it on my burner cell phone - to chit chat with a few p4p otc girls. They seem to be happy sending nudes using it.

They have my digits already - so I’m not concerned.

Denim, I think by focusing on the encryption, you might have missed the real concern. I doubt anyone needs ANY encryption when messaging a stripper. You're right, the gubmint isn't going to try to snag you for sending dick pics to your ATF. Most of us text our strippers in clear text, it's not a problem.

What most PLs want is not encryption; what we want is for the stripper not to be able to know our name, place of work, address, be able to find our real social media. That's where WhatsApp seems to fall short.

To get anonymity from your ATF, you don't need to do any of the extreme things you outlined, like buying a burner phone in cash, etc. All you need to do is not use WhatsApp. Use a burner line, done. Or if you MUST use an app, I'm pretty sure you can't tell someone's phone number through kik. Google voice and textnow are free and reliable.

I recently started using the TextMe app to book appointments at massage places and, in the future, with escorts, in the greater Toronto area.
It's free, provides you with a secondary phone number, and it's easy to build credits to use for calls (I believe text messages don't require credits). You earn credits by watching short ads.
I have no SO, I do this only because my cell phone is company issued (I'm allowed free use for personal calls) and while I doubt accounting looks closely at the numbers called, I'd rather not leave anything to chance.

WhatsApp is the only communication app approved for use in China, by the Chinese government. That alone should answer your question about whether it is secure.

^ no it’s banned since September 2017, you can use it with a VPN but it’s not approved by the Chinese government
Look it up on Wikipedia before you post rong information

-->"I do not think WhatsApp is good for activities you want to keep anonymous,"

Just to make sure this didn't get lost in the bigger post -- this appears to be the important point, since it's anonymity from the strippers, rather than super secure encryption, 99% of us are after

"rather than super secure encryption, 99% of us are after"

I agree that you don't get that and should never expect that.

    "it's anonymity from the strippers"

This will be an issue for some, but also it is just keeping the women from being able to find out about each other by being around when calls or messages come in. Keeping communications private when entertaining.
