I recently started to work as a Teller at a bank near me. Most of our customers are older gentlemen (50+) who openly flirt with me. Would it be unethical to hint that I dance? Some of these accounts look very very nice.
All it would take is one puritanical person to get you fired. Given the likelyhood of actually getting new customers is small it is probably not worth the risk.
Depends on how much you wanna keep that particular job - you'd be taking a risk but might be worth it if it's not a job you plan to keep long-term.
You can slip your # to them on a piece of paper with a "let's have a drink sometime" - even if the geezer is not interested he'll likely either be flattened or just ignore it.
A waitress at a resturant I frequent told me she danced, granted that's a different environment than a bank, but it worked out really well financially for her.
it isnt bad to flirt with women at work, but when many of them are doing it, i mean we all know why theyre doing it(not like they would be doing it if you were manager) ..so although i equally hate women for their double standards, im not going to deny the fact that they see ur position(entry level) as something that makes their unprofessional behavior, and abuse of power in turn, as justifiable.i also dont know if the reason they see their own actions as jusitfiable has anything to do with your behavior, but im assuming it doesn't based on the fact that you did not point that out, so my claim is only fair. This obviously is not an i justice to you since you seem to appreciate it, but it shows how fucking stupid some ppl can.be- what kind of people, in large numbers, flirt with someone in an office environment? Lol obvi if it was a ghetto bank, then my claims wouldnt revolve around men, but rather socioeconomic class.however, i am assuming this is a legitimate, rather than an inferior bank.
Not wise. If you're caught, you'll be fired instantly. If they think you were using personal banking information to shop for customers, there's the possibility of far greater complexity.
Again, it is one thing to flirt with an actual.employee at their job, which is already questionable, but enirely another to do so in large numbers.smh quite unclassy and objectifying. The only qualification to my claim would be if the OP flirted first, since this eould constitute as an open invitation to flirt. If this is the case (which i assume is not) then my sincere apologies. However, it is important to understand that her merely being tolerant of the flirtatious behavior she was presumably INITIALLY approached by does not make customers' behavior acceptsble, since her showing that she was receptive towards the flirtations received in now way ignores, nor compensates for, the very fact that a group of individuals , in large numbersdecided it was OK to initiate flirting OPENLY in a CLOSED, professional environment.
U just need to be sly about how you mention it. Yawn or something and say excuse me, I was working late last night. Curiosity would get most people to ask you were working late at the bank or if u have a second job. U just say, I have another job where I dance. If he's interested he'll ask where, if he's not, he'll leave it there. Give a little, I work at xyz club on Wednesday and Thursday nights, u should stop in and see me sometime, with a wink.
Just make sure their account balance can afford you first, lol.
If a customer comes in - and openly flirts with you. Then he makes a withdrawal of several hundred in singles - I’d recommend you giving him your number.
If the customer is wearing a sweet polyester leisure suit - if you don’t give him your number - he will be disappointed.
The tellers at my credit union are always asking "Is there anything else I can do for you Mr. Shadowcat?" You can try that one. Unfortunately none of my tellers are hot. :)
What I used to do at my “regular” job was get the guys number if he flirted w me and then tell him over text to come see me at the club sometimes w a pic. I don’t know if that’s a good idea, I was pretty young and careless at the time.. just my personal experience and I never got in trouble.
get a part-time job at a trendy restaurant or bar where guys w/ $$$ go then you have some potential targets - be where the $$$ is - hell maybe just going as a custy to those places and looking hot may get you some prospects
Y'all, it isnt even about tbe extent of tight regulation..do.we really even have to that far smh? The fact that SO MANY clients who form a substantial part of the business she works at would be able to provide evidence that could immediately lead to negative outcomes regarding her job or income would make me think the risks significantly outweigh the benefits .the only exception to this is if she could easily find a job if something were to happen to.result in termination or cause problems in her reputation(which could lead to termination ,although indirectly) on the job.because youre basically trusting customers to maintain your reputation.that in itself is a big risk..additionally, who knows.what if one of.them gets mad the night he comes in for a dance and wants to ruin ur reputation which is important to keep ur job and future ones)at work? You might think it is unlikely, but given that is a possibility that could occur with someone u dont know well, it is something reasonable to consider.
Hoarker is 100% right. Flirt and get them to give you their written number, preferably without asking directly.... I never once offered my own so no problems. If they’re really interested enough to come see you they’ll give it without you asking and getting in trouble
Sadly, I think it’s not such a great idea anymore. I was hoping there was a way to subtly offer an opening to a customer.
There are two tellers at my credit union who are totally sexy. Both are Latina in their early 30’s. One has long black hair, and impressive cleavage. She wears tight black pants and sexy heels. Very sweet girl too.

Had a teller once that played with her blouse neckline to make sure I saw she was braless.

I don't know about unethical, but it would be job suicide.
I have seen tellers who read a clients bank balance on the screen and then make a demeanor shift.
But I suggest that if you want to give some hints like that, that you find some other venue from which to do it.

And then, with the teller seeing the clients deposit total, there is real reason to tightly regulate.

Lol

Ask them if they want to see the banks newest assets ;)
But I am still assuming that she wants to keep her day job, not just blow it off.
Better to find other venues for such hanky panky.

Give a free toaster with every deposit (I'm dating myself with this one) ;)
Give them their change in singles ;)

I would just love to see some guy's reaction when he thinks that you thought he was trying to pick you up and you were game.
What a sweet plausible deniability - I thought he propositioned me and I accepted.
