Red light district

I have an upcoming trip to Amsterdam and of course will have to make a trip out to the red light district. Has anyone been there before? How is it? What are the prices like? Is this another Tijuana?

From what I've heard: more blondes, more Eastern Europeans, more expensive, better beer.

But, I have no direct experience.

I've been there, but only in the day time with my wife beside me, lol.

It's not at all impressive while the sun's out. :-)

Just returned from EU, spent three days in Amsterdam. The "main" red light district is in the oldest part of town near the main train station and Nieumarket. The immediate area is full of coffeeshops (both beer sellers and pot sellers), eateries, tourist stuff, and 1,000s of tourists. Also watch out for the damn bikes! (you'll figure that out or learn about EU medicine)

The district is packed with tourists from late afternoon until after 3 or 4am. Even tiny narrow "red light" alleys (they claim they are just narrow streets) will be packed with gawker tourists. Most of the working women sit in red light trimmed "windows" that are actually glass doors and they will open the door to negotiate or just for light conversation. Some want you to come in before they talk prices, but not all. They will pull a curtain across the glass as soon as they think you are serious.

The women run the gambit from grossly obese African immigrants, to petite Asians, to Nordic goddesses, to several kinds of sissy boys (I didn't even ask "Kinds?" - gross), to locals, but the most common working girls (at least it appeared to me) were Eastern European hotties.

Prices were surprisingly low. The "normal" transaction is for about 20 minutes covered BJ and sex and will usually cost about 60EU - prices vary and negotiations can also be fun. Other "services" are available but I am not sure about prices. Note that I all happens right there - red light girls do not offer take out!

There are also several "sex clubs" in Amsterdam, most are high end brothels and those ladies do not take on 20 or more customers a night! They cost more, but still reasonable, and the atmosphere is more relaxed - I tried that the last evening there - fun! You can also find escorts for outcall very easily (but I didn't try it, don't know prices).

Note that - except for the damn bikes - Amsterdam is pretty safe but there are gangs (and gang taggers) and lots of pickpockets. Keep your money out of sight. Most locals speak Dutch, German and English. Almost all of the red light girls I spoke to spoke at least "broken" English, some of the Eastern European girls clearly spoke English better than most US teachers!

    Have fun!

Its not impressive when the suns down either but it is different

Think frozen pizza aisle in the grocery store with a different girl behind every window. Red lights literally make it a bit tougher to see details like you might want to. Prices when i was there last were 60 to 120 euros or so and you walk up to the freezer door, ask rhe price and ask for what service you want. If you take the deal you step inside the freezer, its not really cold but you get the idea, a curtain closes over the window and a few minutes later you emerge an ounce or two lighter. Very slam bam. Most or them will speak some English.

Its not a journey to get there either, its right at city central in most of the larger dutch cities. Right near the train station, although there are smaller pockets or red doors and lights scattered around the downtown area.

Depending on how much time you have, you might want to take a train to one of the FKK clubs. There are a few in Holland and several in western Germany that can be reached in a couple hours. A much bigger and more satisfying adventure.

Amsterdam is very overrated. Prices are around 60 euro and up. However the upsell can be crazy. One girl said her price was for bj hand sex. Yeah of course she said and sex but i must have misunderstood and it will cost another 60. Another refused to take off her top unless more was paid. Of couse i had picked her in the first place because of her glorious rack and she knew that. I dont want to have to negotiate every detail. If you go in the day you are less likely to get a ROB but its also the B squad. All the girls are mostly dead fish so if you like intimacy you wont get it. The advice to hop on a train to an FKK is the best advice you’ll get. Second best advice is if youre in the red light go to the excalibur for a drink. If Zad is working order a kamikaze. Sorry for the long running paragraph typing from my phone.

In Amsterdam there is another area called De Pijp (the pipes).
Again, windows similar to the main RLD, but popular with the locals and most of the girls are relaxed/desperate.
Had a Spanish girl there once, who did her job but was a bit rushed.
And a petite, brunette, Dutch girl who was great. Repeated with her several times, as she was very willing to please.
    Accessible from tram 16.
    Going there myself early July.
Check out http://www.amsterdam-red-light-district-… for more information.
The info is dated, but still fairly accurate, at least with regards to location and what to expect.
I was there about 4 years ago and it was $50E/15m in the main RLD and I am told that price is still the average.
Same in De Pijp, but the girls did not watch the clock carefully.

Had a Romanian girl in the main RLD who was outstanding (and beautiful).
She liked to chat, so we spent about 30m in session and about 20m chatting for $50E.
Tried a couple of other girls, but most were mechanical.

Unless you are into boys or trannies, make sure the windows are red.
Cannot remember the exact color coding, but if it wasn't red, I fled.

Overall, I find the girls in the FKKs tend to be more attractive and much more relaxed.
And the price is $50E/30m when I was there last year.
There is a steep entry fee for the FKKs. $70E-$80E, but typically there is food and spa facilities that help to make the entry fee worth while.

Good info. I’ve considered going to Europe, maybe in a few years, much easier journey than Thailand.
Definitely would go FKK over Amsterdam red light district. If you’re going all the way there I’d prefer quality exoerience over saving a few bucks.

Thanks gentlemen. Definitely seems overrated based on what I imagined vs what u guys are saying. Will make sure I go to a FKk (don’t know what that is but that’s why there’s google!).

^^I didn’t know what they were either about a year ago before reading about them here. I did some research and they look outstanding.

    @55

There are a few FKKs listed and reviewed on TUSCL - you can also look at TUSCLer londonguy's reviews since he has reviewed a few:
