Words of wisdom

Sunday, December 31, 2017 2:46 PM
This is my all time favorite movie monologue. In my work, most people are lying and fake (or trying to be), but that doesn’t mean you can’t know them. Anyone else have a favorite movie clip that rings especially true when it comes to strip clubs, dancers, and pls? [view link]

I'm mainly annoyed that I can watch porn with the volume at 1/10 and it's at wake-up-the-neighbors level, but I have to find headphones for stuff like this on Youtube to be audible. He didn't rub a chair, but Last American Virgin sums up the RIL thing pretty well: [view link]

Ppwh, that guy was really impatient! As far as he knew, there only one guy in front of him, and she did look up at him. He should have grabbed a drink and waited for a few hours for his turn. I hope he at least went home an sent her a dick pic! @mark. great words of wisdom.

@Bj99, Sadly, dick pics weren't a thing in 1982. If so, Fast Times at Ridgemont High could have ended a lot differently, too.

We all know that most of the guys strip club dancers deal with are liars and fake. But before I was old enough to have anything to lie about, or had the guile to even try, I learned that if one is open and honest and treats strip club dancers as one would any other woman, they they will reciprocate and be calling you on the telephone. Same for AMP girls. So people don't believe it and seem extremely angered by it, but I do get very different sorts of treatment in these places, and I do not take the attitude towards the women which most of them do. Remember the movie "Catch Me If You Can"? The girl tests him by asking him about the pricey car, Aston-Martin. Only after she sees that he is a liar, does she shift into hard hustle hooker mode. SJG In the fiction of Andrew Vachss, his protagonist Burke sometimes does jobs for Mossad. Though they make it look narcotics related, they execute ped*ph*les. Favorite scene: From "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark": Indiana Jones is confronted by a sword wielding assassin in the market place. Indiana looks bored, looks around for Karen Allen's character, pulls out a pistol, and casually blows the assassin away. First runner up: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The villain has just drunk from the fancy cup and died very, very badly. The old Templar says, "He chose.....poorly".

Lol electronman! That’s hilarious. @flag, actually it’s cool that SJG has one that works for his philosophy. Wish there was a clip of it.

In a strip club, “do you feel lucky, punk” has a whole different meaning. ;P

A scene and a few quotes I like... Movie Quote: "Women! What can you say? Who made 'em? God much have been a fucking genius. The hair... they say the hair is everything, you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls — just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips... and when they touched yours were like that first swallow of wine after you just crossed the desert. Tits. Hoo-ah! Big ones, little ones, nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights. Mmm. Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns or secondhand Steinways. What's between 'em — passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr. Simms, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing: pussy. Hah! Are you listenin' to me, son? I'm givin' ya pearls here." — Scent of a Woman Philosophy Quote "Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none." -William Shakespeare Funny Quote "Dating a stripper is like eating a noisy bag of chip in church everyone looks at you in disgust, but deep down inside they want some too" - Will Ferrell.

This is another favorite of mine, from Dope. Tho I like the scene at the end of the movie, where he gives this example to someone else, more. Real or fake? [view link]

I guess i failed to see the "monologue" part or the wisdom part either. Or the stripper/PL connection other than i guess you can be flaky and fake, but that's part of the business or comes with the territory and you have to work with or around it? If i might add a couple cents, i've noticed that some people lie just to feel better about themselves. The reality just doesn't cut it for them. The screwed up thing is that they need to make other people feel worse (in addition to believing it) for it to really work for them. Simply saying "that's cool" or "I'm happy for you" won't do it for them. I don't have a movie scene on hand that explains this, but i might come up with one. "In The Company Of Men" is a movie i can think of off the bat that definitely had some sad and even worse PL dynamics (the nefarious asshole and the friend zoned nice guy that can't get any) and a tangled web of lies. There's a scene at the end where he asks the woman/victim "How does it feel?" Of course watching that scene by itself out of context probably might confuse most people that haven't watched the movie, but that scene might be the pinnacle point of that movie. All i could find was this scene. [view link] The other better scene (yeah, there's basically only two or three scenes of this movie on youtube) that describes the whole basis/plot of the movie is a bit long (4+ minutes or a decent length dance ;) [view link]

From "When Harry Met Sally", after Meg Ryan's fake orgasm in the diner, the woman at the next table gives her order to the waitress, "I'll have what she's having!" or words to that effect.

There are many scenes from Jackie Brown that I love, but the first Pam Grier / Samuel L Jackson is the best to me. (You know, when she just got bonded out and he comes to her house... lol) I have some other favorite movie scenes ever. Two are in True Romance, written by Quentin Tarantino. I have a couple other Tarantino faves, one is the pub scene in Ingourious Basterds (spelled incorrectly on purpose), there are so many other scenes of his I love. I also love Inigo Montoya's famous scene in The Princess Bride (if you've seen the movie you'll know exactly what I'm talking about). Also, the "the whole trial's out of order!" scene from Al Pacino in And Justice for All. The final scene of Scarface, too, since I'm talking Al Pacino. Ok, let's add the interrogation and line-up scene from The Usual Suspects. And, Elle Woods' (Reese Witherspoon) court scene in Legally Blonde. Haha. I could list many more.
