Why have a bathroom troll?

It protects the club by deterring drug dealing in the bathroom. They may also earn a few bucks if the troll pays to be there.

The same reason they have a valet.

Customers want to know stuff about the club. The attendants know stuff about the club.

It's not like they turn into dust if they leave the bathroom. I've had them walk by with a quick stop at the table and say "that one" while motioning to a dancer. Not a bad trade for a dollar.

I think that I saw a shoe shine guy in one club. It’s another service to separate you from your money. But wouldn’t they want to keep the money going to the dancers.

One of my clubs has auto-sensing faucets and hand dryers. So when the troll is there he hands out paper towels to be "useful".

I remember someone asking him if he liked the job, and he said yes... He likes talking to people...

The dancers need them to supply them with cigarillos for rolling blunts.

I think it's a "follow the $$$" kinda thing - SC custies are seen as marks to be fleeced by any means possible; and although I don't see it too much these days in certain clubs you have dudes (or girls) pedaling flowers for marks to buy for the dancers - as Lurker mentioned, they bathroom-trolls probably pay the club, so just another way for the club to make more $$$ off of the marks since the marks gotta deal w/ the trolls giving them the stink-eye if they don't get tipped - plus the bathrooms stay mostly clean w/o the club having to pay someone to do it - seems pretty-much something that's good for the club and not necessarily for the custies/marks.

Good point Papi. I remember seeing someone selling flowers a long time ago. They will use any method to separate the marks from their money.

From a logical perspective - flowers are the first things dancers will throw out (when given to them by PL’s) - so it seems to be a waste.

These trolls exist other places as I have never seen one in New England.

Actually if they do their jobs properly I don’t mind tipping a buck to keep from having to get drunk pissers from pissing all all over the floor than I have to tracks Luis on my shoes into my car.

The bathroom troll keeps the bathroom clean. Really disgusting strip club bathrooms are where there is no troll. Typically, the club does not pay him. He makes his money on tips. You don't think the troll can live off $1 tips for handing you a towel? Enterprising trolls sell much more--cigarettes, condoms, and drugs--to both customers and dancers.

I always thought it was to cut out potential illegal activity in the bathroom, drug dealing, sex, unless the troll is in on it with a dancer or vandals since many people would complain if they put cameras in the bathrooms to keep an eye on things.

I think it's a combination of all the reasons listed.

I have never seen a ladies room troll and for that I am grateful. But I have seen some horrifically disgusting ladies rooms in stripclubs so maybe they might not be a bad idea after all.

Tootsies Miami has a ladies-room attendant and so thus Follies, I believe.

Yep . Follies has one too. She comes in with a couple of suit cases full of stuff that strippers might need. Tampons, garters, needle & thread.

As much as we rip on bathroom attendant, I now believe they provide a necessary service in the club atmosphere. These were listed above. But the adage "Character is how you act when no one is looking" applies here. Because there are a lot of knuckleheads who would trash the bathroom because there is no one there to hold them accountable. The attendant being there keeps knuckleheads from being who they are.

Years ago I used to bounce at an all nude club.

We didn’t have a bathroom attendant, but it would have been nice. I can’t count the number of times we had some asshole go in and bust shit up, or shit and piss on the floor, just because.

hong kong has trolls in every restroom now. including ladies rooms. i teep $10 pesos if i feel like a high roller. usually i teep $5 pesos or a quarter. he squirts the soap and hands me a paper towel. he has cigars, cigarettes, viagra, condoms usually.

skibum, a number of new england clubs have bathroom trolls, including 10s in Salisbury. Always gives me the creeps.

Ever go into a stripclub bathroom at 2AM without a bathroom troll? Yeah, you probably didn't even want to piss on the floor.

I'm okay with tipping a $1 for a nice clean restroom.

I'm not crazy about it, but gotten used to it. I'd rather pay a nice attendant a dollar than a stripper with a pissy attitude anyway. The money's got to go to someone. May as well be to someone who deserves it.

my single most prefered rest rhoom is at adelitas at the end of the main bar to the right... unisex and NO TROLLS!
