How to handle dancers bringing up morality of stripping

Has anyone been in a situation where a stripper questioned the morality of what she does and how did you handle it? I was sitting talking to a stripper last Saturday night when she mentioned she was thinking of going to church the next morning but she didn't think she should since she worked as a stripper. I told her if she wants to go church then go and if she doesn't want to go then don't go. Then I told her she wasn't really doing anything bad like robbing banks or selling drugs to children and what she does really doesn't hurt anyone. She seemed to accept what I said so it seemed like I handled it alright. I thought she wanted some kind of reassurance but didn't want to go really deep into the subject. In some situations I've been in it seemed liked the girl actually liked the idea of being a little naughty or rebellious against societal norms so I don't think it's universal that all strippers feel the same. I've never really understood the general view of strippers as being bad. To me the female who goes on welfare who I'm forced to support with my taxes is at a lower moral level than a girl I give money to voluntarily because she is being friendly and giving me lap dances but I don't think that's the general view of most people.

^ I hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of strippers don't claim much income and still receive food stamps, welfare,...

If Jesus had declared that sinners couldn't be saved, or attend church, there would be nothing but crickets chirping

I would have told her to never go to church again; at least her church. Obviously they're filling her with a perverse morality where dancing is evil. She should strongly consider finding a new religion.

I think you handled it well - a lot of these girls need positive-reinforcement. w.r.t. dancing being seen as bad by most of society; I assume it's b/c America was founded on Christianity and thus why it's different than many areas in the world (e.g. Europe, Asia, Africa) when it comes to sex particularly P4P. As I heard someone from Mexico say once w.r.t. why America was so prosperous and Mexico was not (or at least nearly as much); he said "people came to America seeking God but came to Mexico seeking gold" (or something to that effect).

The priest at my church says church is the hospital for sinners. On another occasion he told a story of how someone was trying to decide what church to join and left an umbrella at the front entrance. No one stole it. He said he didn't join that church. Everyone was too perfect. Tried another. Umbrella still there. Then he visited the church I go to. He said someone took his umbrella. That's the church for him. He didn't want to go to a church with no sinners where everyone was perfect.

I've never had a dancer discuss the morality of dancing that I can remember. If she's doing it, I think most already decided it's ok to make money and the main people who seem to have a problem with it are the prudes in society. There are some people who think drinking any kind of alcohol is a sin. I disagree with that. Some even think Bj's are wrong. I disagree. However there are still stupid old laws on the books. Even now in South Carolina, it is illegal to buy beer or liquor in the grocery store on Sunday in SC. Stupid law in my opinion. Obviously someone thought it was morally wrong to be able to buy it at the store on Sunday. Total nonsense in my opinion. At one time, I think the 1800's, people thought it was immoral for women to publicly show any leg above the calf or something like that. If they time traveled, they would probably think women today walked around naked wearing shorts. That might be comparable to a religious right person wAking up 100 years from now and finding out all women are topless in public during the summer.

When I was a greener SCer, dancers or escorts talking about religion would throw me for a bit of a loop - but nothing dancers say (or do) throws me off much these days :)

It was a long time ago but I'll never forget the time that an Asian dancer asked me during a lap dance, if I had accepted Jesus Christ as my savior? That ended the dance right there and I left the club. Later I called the club and talked to the manager. He said it was not the first time that she had done that. I never saw her again.

ROFL Shadowcat that made my morning. A Sunday morning at that. I had a friend back in my lucent job days. He was a player and read the bible at work all the time. One night we were talking and he said that Jesus would just have to accept him for who he is. Now I am not religious, And I hate it when someone brings up finding Jesus. specially, Used car salesmen over quoting the price of a car. With that said I was on a date once watching a movie, Can't remember the name. When that phrase came up in the movie. Both of us O'ed out loud.. I wanted to marry here so bad that night. It wasn't to be though.

There's nothing morally wrong with what I'm doing in clubs, including the sex, and the same applies to the strippers, including the sex. Yes, I'm aware that the law, and society in general, disagrees with me. They're wrong. So if someone brings it up, that's my position, and I'll state it if it sounds like they're asking my opinion.

Unlawful doesn't equal immoral. Immoral doesn't equal unlawful. Lawful doesn’t equal moral. Moral doesn't equal lawful. SJG doesn't equal sane.

I remember a suite mate in college said everything he liked started with an I. Something like illegal, immoral, and something else. He had a drinking problem. He denied it. 2 years later he got pulled over and blew something like .38. He smiled and told me he set off all the bells and whistles and lit the machine up. I used to ride with him when he was drinking but I considered him a safe drunk driver. He never got past 15 mph before slamming on the brakes. It was really a stop and start trip every time I rode with him to the grocery store. As a freshman, I wasn't allowed to have a car.

Some relatives told me so many times that the anti Christ was born the same year as me that I grew up afraid it was me. I never manifested any powers though. Did have several strange things happen though. I wish I had powers. I'd become a millionaire real quick, heal people so they don't drain their savings paying for medical crap. Kill all the mega greedy health insurance business companies by healing everyone. I'd really screw the world over as it is right now. I'd make people young again so no one needs viagra etc. I might even screw over the Middle East crowd by eliminating death and suffering. ISIS would be ticked if they can't kill anyone nor hurt anyone again,

Females are consummate manipulators. Bottom line in the male female human ralathionship is it is a transaction of sex for resources and as a plus you may have deeper connection as well. Strippers/prostitution are woman I respect somewhat more as it is more honest (sex for resources)!!

Easy. I go to church and go to strip clubs (just usually not on consecutive days). I'd just tell her there wasn't anything wrong with it.

I have never had one talk about stripping in general, but it often comes up as far as limits. I will do A, B, C but Y and Z because I am faithful to my husband. Sometimes the rationalization is interesting. I will blow you but you cannot come in my mouth because I will only take the seed of my man as I am faithful to him. "Sex with a condom prevents you from actually taking my seed right?" Yeah, for an extra $50 that's OK.

When the subject comes up, I have often told strippers, in all sincerity, that if there is sin in a sexual transaction between a customer and a stripper, the customer is the greater sinner because he is paying money for his pleasure whereas she is earning a living. We customers have no right to judge strippers for what they do when we're paying them to do it!

Yeah good topic but SJG will fuck it all up real quick. My retired ATF, and what she said about this is why she was my ATF and will never be replaced. "We're only strippers." - What she said to me one night after she was sitting inside the dressing room at Sapphires Las Vegas and all these "diva" strippers were around her getting ready. She treated it just like any other job, was very religious and would often go to church when she could. She told people in her town that she traveled to Vegas on the weekends to be a cocktail waitress at a busy and fancy night club where she was tipped very well by the customers.

One of my old favorites would disappear for weeks, if not months or years, at a time. I could always tell she was likely to leave soon when she would go off about how immoral stripping was and how Jesus would be against it. After the third or fourth time she did this, I had to ask if she was thinking of quitting. After she said yes, I told her it was all right, but don't come running back to me if you come back to stripping. She eventually came back but other than one dance for old time sake, it was it. After that, I think she got married and that really was it.

I have never had a discussion about the morality of dancing with a dancer in all my years of clubbing. Maybe it's because I'm not attracted to a dancer that would even think about the subject. Yes, lots hide from their family what they do, but I don't tell my family I enjoy clubbing either.

You can answer them with they’re making us happy. What could be more moral than that ?

I’ve never had a discussion of morality or religion with a stripper. I think the OP handled the strippers questions well. The truth is - the church is there for sinners. There’s nothing wrong with anyone coming to worship. I view stripping as a job. There is nothing sinful about the job.
