I know this has been discussed before:
When you go into a club and get dances do you tip the bouncer, host or hostess in the lap dance area.
I usually do tip a couple bucks because:
1} it may encourage them to leave you alone.
2} if there is a dispute they are more likely to at least listen to you.
3} I have always found that it never hurts to be friendly and money is always friendly.
I am not talking about much but when you are paying $20-$30 per dance or for a private VIP room what is a couple dollars.
I have had bouncers warn me off a dancer who was a ROB and others steer me to a girl who was fun. I also had a girl accuse me of not paying her the agreed amount and called me a cheapskate, the bouncer took my side possibly because I had tipped him more likely because she had tried the same stunt on other customers.
To tip or not to tip that is the question before the forum?

last commentIt depends on the club. It also depends on where the bouncer is in relation to the private dance area. It also depends on whether I've seen the bouncer before. If the bouncer is at the club often - then I will throw him a few dollars (as long as he's not an asshole).

There are some clubs where tipping the bouncer to give you some space is a known cost of doing business. I haven't been to a club like that for years, but if throwing the bouncer some scratch will drastically improve the experience of my $100 VIP dance, I'll go along to get along. Beyond that, I rarely tip the bouncer unless he's done something directly for me. But as documented in the other thread, I do get on friendly terms with the bouncer in other ways, and this tends to deliver some small or not-so-small benefits

Years ago, at a club that no longer exists, I used to tip the bouncer. He was a great guy, warned me away from robs, pointed out the dancer I got my first OTC with. I even used to party with him and her sometimes. It can pay to tip them.

I have never been to a club where this seemed necessary, so I have never done it. I have been to one of those limo ride places where it was customary to tip the driver $20 to roll up the divider. In one of those cases, after I told a dancer I only had enough left to pay for the ride and not for the bouncer tip she tipped him on her own. On a different visit, a ROB told me that he needed a $40 tip and, well, was a ROB.

If I am getting extras, I am tipping the bouncer

Just don't grease the bouncer or stroke a manager

The only club I ever found it necessary at was the Goldrush in Atlanta. You need to tip the floor guy $20 to keep your dancer off the stage rotation and him out of your VIP room. Rickdugan caught hell on here for greasing that guy and it was uncalled for.

RickyBoy frequently greases the bouncers but he never tips them.

At some places I've been told by the dancer to give the bouncer and/or waitress a tip so we're not bothered.

Isn't it a bit like a stripper OTC? You don't pay him for his service. You pay him to go away. :-)

Yes. I'll tip the bouncer at the VIP or lapdance area. About $10 or so. I'm also friendly with them if there's an opportunity, but I don't schmooze. All in all, it just makes life easier.

Usually I refuse to grease the staff. But I will tip in an extras club to be left alone if it's expected. If I don't know the club, I usually follow the dancers lead on whether a tip is required.

I once came out of the club and found that I had a flat tire. My cell phone was dead. The outside bouncer called AAA for me and then came inside to get me when they arrived. I did tip him $5.

I recommend you don't tip bouncers, leave the tipping for cows.
