I think things will settle down a few months after he's president, hopefully.

We could have peace with Russia, more economic activity and a booming economy.

Or trade wars and huge tax increases on all imported products making things harder for the average guy to buy stuff.
I thought I read Trump thinks he can get a replacement for Obamacare ready in less than a few weeks. The dems took months just to get the web site fixed. I believe the democrats want the republicans to repeal Obamacare and not have a replacement ready. Then they play the blame game and call whatever Trump care. Meanwhile McCain and Lynsey graham seem happy to put up road blocks for Trump. I personally know a lot of people who vote republican but don't know anyone who voted for Lynsey graham. I am wondering if the democrats keep voting for the guy.

    Good luck mr future president.

The betting markets had the odds of impeachment or resignation at about 50/50 recently. The GOP does't like him either cuz he's unpredictable and impossible to control. Impeachment is certainly possible.

When he does go he better be sure to take that pinhead Pence with him.

I'll take the over for $1,000. Not a fan, but it ain't gonna happen. Tilting at windmills.

Feels like the witch hunt of Bill Clinton for 8 years. Come to think of it, feels like the witch hunt of BHO, too.

Better plan is to accept the result, learn something and legislate instead of obfuscate.

It's going to be a wild ride. Certainly won't be boring.

He needs to get off Twitter though when he gets in office as it only gets him in trouble.

Besides, what is a man in in his 70's doing on twitter anyways? And doesn't he have more important things to do than send out "tweets?" Like, maybe, run the country?

Way to go Kaylee. Please explain how someone not in office yet can be impeached? My prediction is within 6 months he retires, as he ran as a publicity stunt anyway and Mike Pence takes over his term. Liberals around here are freaking out about this happening so it might just be wishful thinking on my part.

I think he'll resign before he can be convicted. He has SO many conflicts of interest and he's unwilling to deal with them legally. 3 years is about right but if I had to choose, I'll be an optimist and take the under.

Sorry to rain on the illegal conflicts of interest, and the other arguments for impeaching Trump, but the President of the United States is specifically (and exclusively) exempt from the conflicts of interest statute and impeachment requires BOTH Houses of Congress. He cannot be impeached for violating any law about conflicts of interest. Impeachment is only allowed for, "Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors." If the "never Trump gang and the socialist left (oops, I mean Democrats) can come to some kind of accommodation in the Senate, Trump will have trouble pushing his agenda. But obstruction is about as much as they can accomplish.

The Constitution requires that to impeach a sitting President a Bill of Impeachment from the House of Representatives is required. That simply will not happen. I don't doubt that some "loyal left" Democrats in the House will introduce Bill(s) of Impeachment, repeatedly. But I DO doubt that any one would ever get out of committee. In the unlikely event a Bill of Impeachment reaches the floor, it will die. Even allowing for disaffected Republicans in the House, there simply are not - and will not be - enough votes in the House to attempt to topple Trump.

My money is on never impeached.

Well there's some reason he and Putin are so close. Haven't read the dossier yet.

This excersize in futility and waste of time is just as stupid as all of the right wing name calling. There is real work that needs to get done and as long as this shit goes on none of our necessary problems will be addressed. Just going to cost a bunch of money and in the end it'll be the same old same old.

I hope he does a good job. I would hope all Americans do.

It would really suck for America if he were to do something worthy of being impeached. I don't understand why anybody who likes this country would want that.

Unless republicans lose control of both the house and senate in two years, which is very unlikely, impeachment is impossible as a practical matter.

I hope it is before his inauguration too. Better still, Amend the Constitution and dump him and the Electoral College at the same time.

Republicans were ready to vote to impeach Nixon. Well Trump is already far worse. So the sooner the better.

Interesting time in America. At the golden globes (or whatever award show it was), actress Meryl Streep during her acceptance speech denounced Trump and the media (or as the right wingers would say the biased liberal media) called her strong and courageous. This is the president elect of the United States. America has never been more divided. There is no doubt that Trump is the least liked president elect ever.

To play devil's advocate a little bit, if a actor or actress during a acceptance speech said that about Obama, the media would have called he or she racist and a unamerican!

I heard some of that. Meryl Streep did good.

Impeachment is a possibility because the conservatives in congress would certainly prefer Pence as president, and the traditional Republican Party is not that much in love with the Donald. His value to them was to prevent Clinton from winning. 2018 congressional elections will tell the story.

Yeah, it was tremendously brave of Dame Meryl Streep (whom I have adored in movies, by the way, since "Holocaust" in 1978 and "Manhattan" in 1979) to use her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes to say nasty things about Trump to a crowd that (a) overwhelmingly agrees with her and (b) would never dare to voice disagreement with her in any case. She's a regular Profile in Courage :)

No, Trump isn't going to be impeached -- ever. Resignation is more likely, though I suspect that he'll serve one complete term and then retire, letting Pence run for the Presidency in 2020.

While I'm making predictions: If we can't get rid of the electoral college after the elections of 2000 and 2016, in both of which the winner of the popular vote lost the electoral vote, we never will. At most we might reform it so that the winner of each congressional district gets its electoral vote and the two at-large electors for each state go to the winner of that state's popular vote.
