Seeing a comment about being asked if you are LE by a dancer ( yes SL your the man) got me thinking about the times I've been asked that. Both times I've grabbed the lady's hand and placed it on Little Jack and asked if LE would do that. Both times their menu comes out for discussion.
I haven't been asked that in a looooong time, mostly because LE in this city has de-prioritized prositution in the strip clubs in favor of going after AMPs and street prostitution. In fact, arguably, at one time LE was driving prostitution INTO the strip clubs.
But, anyway, back when they used to ask, I'd say "no", and they'd just shrug and believe me I guess :)
I have never had a dancer come right out and ask me if I was LE, tho many have told me after our dances that she thought when she first saw me that I might be a cop. It cracks me up when they say that. I am quick to point out that an undercover cop wants to be just that - undercover. I stand out like a sore thumb in a stripclub, so I would be not very undercover. At that point they either get it and agree, or they look at me all puzzled. The puzzled ones I just take by the hand and lead them back to VIP where their lack of brain cells doesn't impact their ability to get the job done. ;)
Actually, remembering back to my early SCing days, my SC wingman at the time was a black guy, we were relatively young with close-cut hair. I SCed with him before the days SF LE de-prioritized the strip clubs, and back then I did get the question more -- one of the girls explained to me that when a black and a white guy came in together, with short hair, first assumption was that we were cops... lol
The last time I got that question was at a club in WNY. Rick's Tally-Ho, which is still there, but not under that name. I just said "no." I wasn't interested in here anyway, so it didn't really make a difference.
I seem to get it in the higher end clubs over the lower end. Here's usually a combination of what I am asked: "you look too young to be in here" "you're too good looking to be in here looking for sex" "guys that look like you don't pay for sex" "I've never seen you before in here"
Now, I'm not buy any means a Ralph Lauren model but I am in decent shape and not 60. I'm in my mid 30's but strippers either stroke my ego or are horrible in judging age because most of them say I look like I'm in my late 20s. Funny, nobody else thinks I look like I'm in my late 20's, must be strip club lighting.
In most of the clubs I frequent I am usually in the group of the youngest looking guys, which I always have said is an issue. Strippers think I am too young to have money to spend, or I'm LE, I'm attracted to strippers closer to my age and I have often heard older strippers feel insecure around guys younger or close to their age... Always some sort of issue! lol
I was asked that once or twice ages ago but not since. Who knows, maybe word has finally made it around to all the strippers that cops aren't obligated to answer truthfully, and that it isn't entrapment if the cop says he's not a cop. All except for the strippers the OP met, that is.
Been asked that once, at Foxy Lady in Atlanta. I went in the club and sat down at a table and didn't do anything. Didn't talk to anyone, didn't get a drink. It was right after the George Zimmerman verdict, so I really wasn't in the mood to be social (I went out to relax and/or clear my head). Finally, one dancer walked up to me and asked. Told her no and she didn't believe me at first. Told her I was from Florida and showed her my license and then we talked about the GZ/TM situation. Ended up getting quite a few dances.
Dancers have asked that, but other people do too. It is stupid.
But once a street hooker asked to prove I was not a cop, after she got into the car. I asked her how. She told me to show her my cock.
So then I asked her to prove that she was not a cop. So she pulled up her top and flashed me.
Once a stripper in Redwood City said, "Are you sure you're not a cop? I mean if you were to pull out a badge." Then she started feeling around on the insides of my thighs, through my pants. So then I asked her, "So where do you keep your badge?"
It is all really stupid, especially in a strip club. The above dancer worked most of the time at Market St. Cinema.
But people are just like that, afraid of "narcs". People have said, "Are you a narc?"
Best thing to do is just to get away from them and interpret their statement as threatening.
With strippers and such it is silly because if something is happening it will be me who has been moving on them. And of course where I first learned this is in AMPs. I never negotiate with the girls or treat them as anything other than civilians.
I've been asked that in massage parlors and by escorts. (I always answer "No," then ask them if they are. A little humor seems to get their hands wandering and then they're a lot more at ease.)
A guy I went to a strip joint with was asked if he was a cop by the dancer sitting on his lap. Course, they had just been talking about marijuana and other drugs, too. Later, he mentioned he was a little confused why she had asked him that. A gentle reminder of "What were you two talking about just before she asked that?" answered his previous question.
I've been asked a couple times, always ended up leaving happy after they were satisfied with my answer. +1 to the OP's tactic of placing their hands on the business end and seeing how the menu opens up.
Before you grab somebody's hand and start pulling it around, you better ask if THEY are LE because that's legally assault (and just generally obnoxious). You could just tell her to grab your crotch and check for concealed weapons if she wants. Not exactly tasteful, but most dancers would consider that level of cheekiness as coming with the job. Since technically you're just solicited her to commit a crime, she can be pretty sure you're not a cop, or at least any charges you might make will be thrown out.
I was asked that question once. I told the stripper no. Then she said prove it. stick you finger in my pussy. So I did & after that we went VIP & had a great time.
Never been asked, because the only OTC I've ever had was from dancers who knew me for a period of time. If I ever am asked, I'll just show them my bands FB page! LOL
I get asked that fairly frequently, but not usually by dancers. One time I was sitting at the bar at a club I'm a regular at. The bartender, who I'd known for months, leaned over and started to quietly ask me about some legal situation she was in. When I told her I had no idea about her situation she told me she had thought all along that I was a cop.
I've also been mistaken by other customers for club management.
It's a stupid thing to ask. An undercover cop isn't about to say, oh darn you got me. And any other guy isn't going to feel flattered by her suspicions. As for the point that it leads to the "LE check", i.e., feeling each other's junk, why can't you do that anytime? I don't need no dumb cop question for that introduction.
Been asked twice, 1st time a quick no was enough. The second time I told her she could ask a dancer seated at the bar, one who is married to a guy where I used to work. She didn't bother to ask. Bot times lead to a great time in the VIP. From this and other comments I get the feeling the question could mean they'll do extras if they feel they won't get busted.

Brilliant! But I have a feeling you would have known whether or not she was a cop by then! ;)
