Aa dancers

Hello!! I've been dancing in Detroit for a few months now and from talking to a lot of the black dancers (yes i am also black) they say it's hard to get a job at the "white clubs" I've never had this problem but made me wonder why they don't allow very many of us to work at once..is it because the costumers prefer majority one race over the other or is it more of the clubs preference?
Just curious

All of these issues are grounded in false racial stereotypes that have governed decisions in other areas, i.e., sale of residential housing, integration of public schools, hiring and promotions in private industry. If too many of "them" get in here, property values drop, there will be interracial dating high school, our customers will shy away.
Bigotry is still with us.
While I agree with SuperDude that false stereotypes have been unjustly used in other areas (there is no significant statistical difference - in any area, crime or property value or other - between Black, Asian, Hispanic and Anglo FAMILIES - two parents plus child or children) - the one area of significance does apply to SCs. Right of wrong, many strip club managers fear the negative impact of predominately black crowds in their clubs. I don't know whether limiting the number of AA dancers is an appropriate answer and I don't like the restriction, but I understand why that approach is attempted.
I'm sure that it's because of the customers that they're trying to attract. My favorite dancers wouldn't work much at Lookers though. It's all in the type of customer the club is trying to attract.
This can be unfair to potential black dancers who may not get hired, but scan the escort ads on Backpage and you will see many notices of "No Black Men" so the prejudice goes both ways.
An analogy that (I think)makes sense is how Playboy magazine would pretty much have all white girls in their magazines. You'd rarely see a woman of color. And when I say woman of color, I don't solely mean black women. I mean Hispanic and other races as well. Playboy has gotten better with variety as time has passed, but it still heavily favors the white girls.
A business is always going to suit what they're selling according to what the majority of their customers like.
Most of the women of color that I have encountered have been very sensual dancers. I just look for attributes that seem appeal to me at the moment, race doesn't matter.
1beauty, I wonder if you get hired but others do not because of your body type. The "white" clubs may be discriminating more on shape than on skin color.
They can get that at the black clubs. They are there for other than black dancers. That's why black dancers do so well with white customers in "white" clubs.
Note that I use the parenthesis because there really aren't very many strictly white clubs. This current generation is thankfully far more integrated and cross-cultural for something like that to exist.
Flight Club seems "whiter" now than it was a few years ago. I remember seeing quite a few hispanic and even Indian dancers in the past. But I don't go there enough to really say it's a trend.
Just as the phenomenon of “white flight†has occurred in many US cities (e.g. Detroit) over the decades; same can happen with SCs (and has happened to a few SCs I know off myself).
I’m a white Hispanic guy but I’m mostly into black women (don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before on TUSCL :)). I go to mostly all-black clubs b/c that is where “coincidentally†I find the most black dancers :) – and the type of dancer I like (the thick ones). IME – in mixed and especially upscale clubs – black dancers cannot look “too black†and certainly cannot act “too black†– thus one will often find the more “palatableâ€, for lack of a better word, type of blackness in these clubs (i.e. black chicks that are similar to white chicks in looks and attitude/behavior).
It also has to do as much with class as color. I’ve been to a few upscale black clubs (very very few seem to exist) where the vibe was pretty much the same as an upscale white club. The black custies seemed the successfully employed; educated; well non-gangsta dressed types; etc. - in these types of upscale black clubs, I was kind of the low end customer.
