I'm guessing that the amount of money that I have spent on strippers over the years is around $100,000. Yikes!!! I could have put that money into mutual funds...Or paid off some debt...Bought a boat...HaHa!!! Oh well. Can't do anything about it now. I did have fun though. And, I'll probably be going again soon.
So, what is your total estimate on what you've spent in your lifetime??
Actually, I could probably tabulate an exact figure. I've been keeping my accounts to the penny in Quicken or MS Money since 1983, and I went to my first strip club in 1990 or 91. I'd guess it averages $2000 a year. If you want to stop being depressed, the $100,000.oo that some dudes are bemoaning can be made up in less than a year of intelligent investing. It's pocket change to anyone who isn't nickel-and-diming himself through life. Remember Kiyosaki: a job (payment from someone else in exchange for time at a workplace in which you are NOT an investor) is a short-term solution to a long-term problem.
Let's review: TUSCL regulars admit to maxing out credit cards and get pay day loans to see strippers. They admit to having spent over $100k on strippers during their lifetime. But still they insist they can get all hot, young pussy they want for free and they are not pathetic losers. Anyone buying this?
Shekitout...Yes it can hit you hard in the ole' pocket book... I've made the mistake, a few times, of getting payday loans just for the purpose of clubbing. I put a stop to that.
Way too damn much! From middle of Apr to middle of Junes, $1200 & being retired I'm on fixed income so I used a credit line withdrawals. That shit is coming to a stop. Don't know where I'll get the money unless I get a greeter job at WalMart or something like that. My clubbing days except for a visit from an out of town buddy who likes to go to strip clubs when he comes for a visit have come to an end, sad to say.
85k in credit cards? That's a lot. I remember for a few months I once didn't completely pay off my credit card. It's nice to pay something off and forget about it. Finishing up your last payment on a car or something else is nice. I've heard of several people spending thousands of dollars each year on hobbies such as golf. That would easily amount to $100,000 after 10 to 20 years. I guess you have to pay to play as the saying goes.
Shadow: I'm talking more about the kind of CC debt you don't pay in full when the bill comes. In my younger stupid days I maxed out two cards with 5000 limits on each in about a year-on strippers. I wised up, stayed out of clubs for six months and payed off the debt. For the last ten years or so it's cash only for me. I walk in with what I want to spend and leave when it's gone. I have used a CC to pay for hotel rooms for Outcall appointments but, as you do, I pay the balance when the bill comes. I never use a CC for the escort either by the way.
I've kept track for the past several years. At first, I spent over $4k per year. Now, it's less than half that. Before I started keeping track, I guess I spend about $20K over three or four years. So, all told, enough to buy a decent car with all the options, but not a sexy one.
If you look at anything that you do regularly over a long period of time it comes to a big number. I hate to think what my bar bill has been over the last 40 years. The way I look at it if I didn't spnd it on one form of recreation I'd just spend it on another, so what difference does it make? I came into this world with nothing, I plan to leave the same way.
I'd never even thought of that, but a good topic. Since I've been going for over 30 years, I know it must be high. A few years ago when traveling for work and going out with the guys after work, it was much more than since I've retired. It would have to be in the 10's of thousands, but to nail it down, I have no real idea.
Hugevladfan...I should point out that I've been going to clubs since the first one opened in what is now Shoreline, Washington. That was back in 1981. Of course back then the dances were only five dollars and the patrons and dancers were seperated by a two-inch cushion of air.
So, in 25 years I've averaged $4,000 a year. And that's not uncommon for a lot of guys who go on a regular basis.
How much I've spent? Do you want me to cry?? Do you???
I try to NEVER think about that aspect of my addiction. I will either cry like a baby or projectile vomit....or both.
Trust me, you don't want to see that. ;)
I'd gather since October alone about $6,000, including about $4,000 on one person whom I would barely see. I am in a similar sit as Yoda and since I don't drink OR drive what would be going to enrich alcoholic beverage comapnies or multi-billion oil conglomerates gets to stay in the local economy :-)
I noticed that the board shows three responses to my post. Yet, I only see two when in here, T-bone's and Yoda's. So one of the idiots that I have on ignore posted a response. There's no need. I can't read it.
LOL, that's the last thing in the world I want to think about! Of course, we all have hobbies and SCing is mine. I don't play golf, I don't gamble and I don't want a boat. I have no CC debt. As long as you don't spend the milk money there is no reason to feel guilty about spending money on yourself to have a good time.
