I have over the past 30 years been a dj at 6 different clubs in the GTA and have heard all the gossip about customers from a generation and a half of dancers. The thing that is common in all the complaints about clients is that they fail to show respect to the dancers. Yes the girls take their clothes off for the customers enjoyment but like the rest of us working for a living the dancers want to be shown respect by their clients. The dancers also are not impressed by the client who decides he deserves a higher level of intimate contact than what the dancer is comfortable with. Being a gentleman gains much greater mileage than being Mr. Touchy-Feely.

I have seen a few cases of clients dating the dancers but the greatest success was achieved by the customer who doesn't get dances. This is one of the most difficult things to do. When in the club, we are not only expected to get dances , we are encouraged to do so. Set yourself apart from the other patrons by offering to buy the girl of your choice a drink. Ask her to join you and have some conversation. Treat her with the same respect you would a girl you have met outside of the strip club. Should you decide you would like to invest more time with the dancer make sure that you are not buying drinks for any of the other girls working. This will create a competition for your drinks, same as getting dances from more than 1 girl. Just like the girl you meet outside of the strip club doesn't want to see you hanging with other women, neither does the dancer you have selected to spend time with.

This is just the beginning. Many dancers will accept your offer for a drink and then put you on the clock. There are many dancers that make their livings not by dancing but by "hanging" with their clients and charging by time spent. This is a story of patience. You have to hope that the girl enjoyed chatting with you and comes over to you to instigate the next interaction. Should you appear to be going out of your way to get the girl back to your table after your first encounter buying a drink, you may end up in the "hanging" mode. You may as well get dances at that point as you are still a customer.

Try to be interesting but don't lay on the BS when talking with the girl of your choice. These girls spend all their work talking to men who want to get more mileage from them. Be sincere. Don't give the girl the 3rd degree about herself. Let the conversation flow. Should it flow well, don't be afraid to say that you enjoyed your time with her and since you don't get dances that she can go and try to make some money unless she has time for another drink. Try to do this without sounding like you are giving the dancer your permission, it should come out like you are amazed how much time she spent with you. Most girls will wonder what you are doing in a strip club if you don't get dances. One of the best replies I had for this was "Just because I am on a diet doesn't mean I can't read the menu". Hopefully she will laugh and let you off the hook.

If you have chosen a club with a lot of girls, you have a higher likelihood of getting in with a dancer but keep in mind that should you fail with the first girl or 2 that you have chosen, it may be time to go to another club. The girls talk. They will have pointed you out as a mark for drinks and not dances. also should a girl try to negotiate with you for "hanging" rates and you show no interest, she will spread the word that you are a waste of time but for the fact you will buy drinks. In the GTA, where beer and liquor prices are very steep in the strip clubs, girls will use you for the drinks, and sometimes have an agreement with the waitresses to get non alcoholic drinks and split the difference in pricing with the waitress.

A well dressed and groomed client will also get the dancers attention. No you do not have to be in a suit to be perceived as a nice guy, but dressing well will give the impression you care about the way you look and that you have good taste. While it is true that most of the dancers are looking for a bad boy that they can change, the idea that you can dress well and look good is far more exciting. The idea that you have control over your urges and are respectful while dealing with the dancers will go a long way to you getting a date.

I have frequented other clubs in the GTA and have found that the dancers recognize me from my working the various clubs and will come over to chat with me with regularity because I work in the industry. So if you
really want to date dancers the sure fire method is to get a job in a strip club. Keep in mind, even though you are working with the dancers, you cannot be a douche and expect to get laid.
