How do you guys rationalize Trump’s batshit crazy presser yesterday? Too many lies to sort out but him saying he knew Willie Brown very well and that they had crash landed in a helicopter together and that Willie said Kamala was very bad? It was Jerry Brown he rode in the helicopter with (not that they could be confused by insane person), Gavin Newsom was also in the helicopter and it didn’t crash land. Lie? Mistake? Dementia? All of the above?

The “mistake” to which I was referring was the democrats’ mistake in not catching this in vetting and correcting it. If you go up a couple of posts you’ll actually see that I literally said it was a “lie.” I’ll assume you just made a MISTAKE and did not LIE about what I said.

The campaign changed their materials today to say Walz “served as a command sergeant major.” The statement now matches what a US Army public affairs officer stated to the Minn Star Tribune back in 2022 “Walz obtained the rank of command sergeant major and served in that role but retired as a master sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes due to not completing additional coursework.” Stupid mistake by the dems to allow this to slip through when most people wouldn’t know the difference between the ranks. Apparently it’s been an issue for him in previous campaigns.

USA coming up big in track and field the last few days to take the lead in golds over PRC. Big extra time win for USWNT to make the gold medal game on Saturday. Huge come back for men’s hoops from down 17 to Serbia to get to semis. Steph, LeBron and Embiid were huge. Women’s hoops is dominant. I hadn’t seen A’Ja Wilson play much though I knew her name. Walz lied both about carrying a weapon “in war” and the rank he had when he left the guard. Did he serve for 20 years? Yes. Should he be thanked? Yes. Was his “in war” a mistake or a lie? I don’t know, but he should correct it now. Should he have embellished his rank? No and he should correct it now. He’s risking letting this become a bigger story than it already is by trying to defend what is factually untrue. It’s like Trump trying to force Kamala to defend that she’s Black. Her dad was Jamaican her mom was Indian. End of story. Walz served 20 years and retired with the rank he earned. End of story. None of this changes a vote for 99.9% of voters.

Save your time Dugan. This asshat reviewed the byob club around the corner a few days ago, with roughly the same prices in a dead club on a weekend night. It’s clearly the market price and showcase is busy on weekend nights. He’s a troll who gets off by extending conversations with inane comments and questions or bumping old threads. And a poor troll at that. Very reminiscent of champphilly.

I’m also in an area of high growth. A few places I used to eat have shut down as the economy has hit some of them. Others have replaced them and more new commercial/retail construction still ongoing. Housing prices still high, but far fewer transactions likely due to interest rates. I know I’m not selling anytime soon even though I could stand to downsize. Replacing my 2 1/4 mortgage with something at current rates would offset a lot of the savings of a smaller principal.

Divina is Honduran and cool to hang/dance with. Pretty light skinned but she sometimes wears her hair in corn rows so maybe that’s what you saw. She’s made a lot of progress taking off some baby weight but probably is still up 10 from before. She is a fitness queen.

He’s definitely off his game a bit. He’s usually about making sure his comments can be interpreted multiple ways. The black jobs comment and saying Kamala recently turned black in the space of 35 minutes was a tough stretch for him.

Thanks for the link, Dugan. I don’t think anyone will be able to say they saw their vaginas, but it’s a fair assumption that they were born female and have not transitioned to being men. Taking the IBA statement into account it looks like a chromosomal disorder. That makes the dispute one of fair competition rather than one of wokeness or trans rights. Boycott? Why? I’ve watched a lot of the Olympics and haven’t see any boxing coverage, let alone women. Did the US even send female boxers? Anyway, XY chromosomes and if there are higher testosterone levels would certainly give these boxers an edge. Is it an unfair edge? Probably. The Algerian has a career record of 37-9 in amateur fights. She’s definitely beatable.

If someone has an article stating that there’s something more than a failed test, please post a link. That’s not an argument. It’s a question. I didn’t search beyond the one I linked. In most sports (who knows with IBA) once you fail a test you get tested more frequently. These boxers have never claimed they were trans and the IOC has merely said the boxers complied with the qualifications. If there’s more, I’d be interested to know.

It wasn’t a lack of business that shut it down. Local government wanted it out and there was no shortage of infractions they could use to bury it. To their credit, the follies owners fought hard and fought for years, but if the government wants you shut down and you’re running a business that needs a liquor license and allows sex for money, even between consenting adults, you will eventually get steamrolled. OSU, my post and linked article wasn’t a “response?” I feel the need to again say I’m against men competing in women’s sports.

OSU - I responded at length about boxing in Stud’s thread about it specifically. I didn’t feel the need to duplicate it. I’m not “closing the thread” or whatever champphilly used to do when his threads went sideways. I’m just holding out hope we can rally around our US athletes and not always talk about the things we hate.
