I’ve always enjoyed watching women’s sports and am a huge supporter. When Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb were dueling in the late 90’s and early 2000’s the LPGA was a more compelling watch than the Men’s PGA. (Then every name on the top 20 of each week’s leaderboard was “Park”, but I digress).
I’ve been watching the women’s NCAA basketball tournament for 20+ years, long before it became chic this year.
So it disgusts me that more women athletes are not speaking out strongly against men competing against women. 50 years after feminists fought for Title IX, they are letting it all slip away.

If I have money and no job, then maybe San Diego? Or Whitehall, Montana in the summer and Sarasota FL in the winter

I’m not looking for any brownie points, but I’m proof that one can lose weight without drugs or gastric bypass surgery or lapbands.
I dropped over 200 pounds on strict Keto. And by strict I mean strict. Less than 20 grams of carbs per day. Hard at first but you get used to it. Then after I dropped the first 50 I started walking. And as I got in better shape I joined a gym a did weight lifting.
Keto can be controversial and some might frown upon eating daily eggs and bacon - but it worked for me. Cholesterol and lipids went way down.
Juice and I were mutual motivators (have to be careful how I typed that) during our weight loss

From other articles I read, it doesn’t seem his “mental illness” was a factor at all. The defense attorney argued the policewoman did not have probable cause to pat him down so any “self defense” on his part was justified

I’m a Boomer and I don’t give a fuck. I don’t want a funeral. (Probably no one would show up anyway). No viewing or any of that. So many people my parent’s age and older made a big deal about wanting to be brought back from Florida to “home”. WTF. I never understood paying the airline $1000 to transport the body back home. You’ve lived in Florida for 25 years - that’s your home now, not somewhere back in the Midwest.

The old school feminists definitely seem to come across as hypocrites on the issue. They oppose porn, prostitution and strip clubs as it exploits women but it also contradicts their core principal: “my body - my choice”
They’d probably defend their position by saying they are condemning the institutions not the female participants, but how does one separate the two?

We often refer to the “bizarro world” of strip clubs.
It seems the opposition of strip clubs are where both left and right extremists are united. . The right wing Christian fundamentalists oppose strip clubs as well many on the far left, including feminists, who view it as exploitation of women and the poor.

I didn’t realize Doris Kearns Goodwin was part of the production team. She was one of the commentators on each episode which really surprised me because I thought she lost a lot of credibility as a historian with her plagiarism accusations

George MD is ten thousand per correct. Club owners have blatantly been in violation of FSLA by mid classifying dancers as independent contractors.
However…..the same applies to dancers. They can’t have it both ways either. I knew of the dancer that was Jane Doe from the Lansing, MI Deja Vu club whose lawsuit developed into a national class action suit.
When her attorney made contact with the club, they immediately made the dancer an employee (not an independent contractor) and paid her minimum wage.
And like every other employee her job description included the phrase “and perform other duties as assigned”
No one here would be surprised - her income dropped when she was paid minimum wage and she didn’t like having to help the waitresses with occasional cleaning. She promptly quit.

I spent a lot of cash one night at Industrial Strip in Hammond, IN (a suburb of Chicago). Dances were in open cubicles so not a lot of privacy just mutual groping - but she was one of the hottest dancers I’ve ever been with

But “Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” is an absolute classic and one of my favorites
I’d have to go back and listen to the entire album again - it’s been awhile
