Worst States to live in

Arizona
CNBC has published a list of the 10 worst States to live in. They are all red states, including Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. Among the criteria were the ease of getting an abortion and the ease of voting without the need for ID.

The criteria used for the ranking of states should be, of course, by the number of strip clubs. The worst ranked are those two hellholes Vermont and New Hampshire with only three each according to TUSCL. The best states are Texas, with three hundred, followed by Florida.

@doc - Those listings include closed clubs. I believe ND is the wort with only 1 open club in Fargo.

This list is subjective and depends more on what you need and want from a place to live. That said if you can afford it everything will work itself out.

Isn’t North Dakota where the shale fields, fracking, and high paid energy workforce exist ? There should be a strip club on every corner.

It's great everyone has different criteria. Weighting any ranking list is always subjective and I don't totally agree with this. Realistically economy and weather are two massive factors.

If Florida and Tennessee are so bad, why are both consistently among the states with the highest growth rates - along with other red states - Utah, Idaho, Montana

While New York and Illinois, blue states, have people leaving

@mark94 - Williston ND had 2 clubs during the oil boom but the city managed to shut them down in 2016.

Who the fuck picks a place to live based on abortion and voting rights? I feel strongly left about both of those subjects and this is troll bait.

The source of the poll tells you everything you need to know about the results that they will have.

"ease of voting without the need for ID" To a rational person, having your ballot stolen and your elections subverted would be a bad thing. To CNBC, it's a good thing. This tells you all you need to know about CNBC and how they report their agenda.

"ease of voting without the need for ID"

I often wonder what's changed in the 40+ years since I became aware of politics. How this massive division came to be in such a short time. It used to be Democrats and Republicans wanted more or less the same things but had different ideas on how to achieve them. Sure there were issues like abortion, social programs, etc., but almost unanimously, people loved America the way it was. Tweak a few things one way or the other, sure. But openly argue for the right to undermine our entire political system? Hell no. Everyone was proud of our astronauts when they landed on the moon. Nobody asked who they voted for. The whole country was mortified when Kennedy was shot. Nobody celebrated his death because he was a Democrat.

No matter what party you belonged to, no one, and I mean absolutely NO one back then, would have launched an argument that checking ID at voting locations should be forbidden. It's just so completely ludicrous that any sane individual would have been embarrassed to even mention such a thing.

And I think that's what it all comes down to: shame. Or I should say, a lack of shame. Every single day you can find something that was said or done by some politician or activist that 10 or 15 years ago would have brought disgrace upon the person, perhaps for no other reason except the appearance that their brain is not functioning properly.

Making it against the law to check ID at the polls, letting men use women's bathrooms, paying people who failed the teacher's exam a lifetime of salary, benefits AND a pension on top of it.

I still don't know how it all came about, but a lot of people are no longer ashamed to stand up and shout in support of complete idiocy, and instead of laughing at them, there are plenty of other fools joining them.

For fucks sake, can you assholes do anything but complain? Education is downhill, baseball players are having too much fun, red states are bad, blue cities are bad, inflation is out of control (3%), gas prices are high (they aren’t), economy sucks (record low unemployment), there aren’t enough white dancers, black dancers bully white dancers, Cubans are too aggressive, Muddy doesn’t get enough dances.

And two of my favorites, the younger generation is lazy AND they do too much work by stacking their plates at restaurants. Gas prices are too expensive AND electric cars and alternate energy is bad. WTF?! At least make your complaints make sense together.

Y’all suck. No chance in hell you see a little sunshine as you get older either.

The reason the two clubs in Williston closed was because of brawls and fights between the oil workers. Two people were murdered outside of the strip clubs. Williston Police had to be posted outside of the clubs every night. Also, the height of the black gold rush in North Dakota was over by 2015. There is still a lot of oil and gas production in North Dakota, but it is not like it was in 2008-2014.

There used to be ideals that bound us together. They were the same ideals that went back to our founders. They made us a nation and gave everyone purpose in life. Family. Religion. Hard work. Freedom. Patriotism.

Those started to disappear in the 1960s, especially on University campuses. A culture of responsibility was replaced by a long list of rights and entitlements. If it makes you feel good, do it. The Pill had something to do with this.

Into this void came wokeism. Climate became religion. Group identity became more important the individual. Victimhood replaced Merit and accomplishment. Modern feminism replaced the family. Pessimism replaced optimism and the can do spirit. Manual labor was looked down upon.

If we are going to pull out of this, we need to discover a set of ideals we can all believe in.

@Mark94 summed it up very nicely.

What we saw was "frogs in slowly warming water" for decades. Saul Alinsky, "Rules For Radicals" - "They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns then it will be through the bullet." Alinsky was all about "Community Organizing" - just remember the POTUS who BRAGGED about this.

The Left has done a truly magnificent job between taking over public ed starting when Carter established the Dept of Ed back in the late 1970s, to working the streets for votes, harvesting ballots, not cleaning up voter rolls, anti-voter ID, mail-in ballots during COVID-19, "white supremacy", calling anyone who disagrees "racist", cancelling (which I find interesting as the Democrat Party is the Party of slavery/segregation and yet was never canceled - and they treat AAs like they are still on the Planation), and and stocking the courts & colleges for decades with leftist judges & professors - look at the 9th, or Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson who has had multiple opinions, a lot, overturned by the SC where she now sits for life.

Like it or not, the Left was conducting a cold coup with cowardly RINOS "in bed" with them.

    Vivek Ramaswamy proposes:

Abolish the Dept of Education and use that money saved to support non union charter schools

Set requirements for a college to be eligible for federal subsidy and loans, including firing most administrators

    Support trade schools

This would be a huge step in ending the woke industry

About 80% of the population is anti woke. We’ve just let the wokesters be in control for too long. A backlash is here.

The AI revolution is going to bring incredible innovation, productivity, and wealth. Today’s young people will see a world where machines do most of the work. Executed properly, that could make life pretty great.

We all just need to find purpose and principles that align with this new world.

This path is available to 90% of people in the US. Graduate high school, go to trade or tech school, work hard, make $80,000 per year, get married, raise a family, enjoy a good life.

It doesn’t have to be that difficult.

After a Sunday of betting on golf, playing golf, mowing the law; swimming and diving I spent time at Desires and Club Fantasies. Took today off to smoke weed and watch tv. Watched the old 1084 movie "War Games", which made me think that AI is going to be the death knell for humanity.

I have a feeling AI will just continue the trend of the rich squashing the middle class and working class. Automation on the whole doesn't make everyone richer, it makes the fat cats fatter.

On the other hand it will be good for the sex trade industry as more young women choose a path (mostly) that can't be done by robots... Until the sex bots truly get good.

AI will make everything cheaper and better. That will benefit everyone. Cheap food. Medical breakthroughs. All manufactured goods much lower in price.

But, yes, those with money to invest in AI stocks are going to make a shitload of money.

“Florida is one of the worst states for people who make minimum wage.”

In an economy where welders can make $100,000 per year and med techs can make $80,000 after 2 years at a community college, there are alternatives to minimum wage.
  • gammanu95

Florida is one of the worst states for people who make minimum wage.

The idiots who make minimum wage voted for a $15 minimum wage, and that just raises the price of gas, diapers, milk, bread, etc. Minimum wage is not meant to be a living wage. It's for high-school kids and second jobs. If the best you can do is a minimum wage job, then find some roommates and tighten your belt. Noone owes you a damn thing.

FDR, after passage of the National Recovery Act of 1933 that introduced minimum wage:

“In my Inaugural I laid down the simple proposition that nobody is going to starve in this country. It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country.

“By business I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level-I mean the wages of decent living.”

FDR came from one of the wealthiest families in New York - his neighbors were the Astors, the Vanderbilts, and the Rockefellers. Hardly someone I want in charge of redistributing the wealth.

His aggressive expansion of the income tax code actually burdened the working class far more than the wealthy. Only about 10% of the population paid income prior to 1940. After FDR implemented his brand of socialism, 90% of the public paid income taxes.

FDR’s progressive reputation is a myth. His policies actually resulted in a war on the poor

Thomas Sowell says there are no government solutions, just trade offs. Everything the government does to help one group of people hurts another group.

FDR took money out of some people’s pockets and put it into others. It wasn’t FDR’s money being given away. He took it out of the pocket of job creators and workers. That delayed the end of the Depression by a decade.

"FDR’s progressive reputation is a myth. His policies actually resulted in a war on the poor."

The Home Ownership Loan Corporation (HOLC) and FHA instituted ratings systems that downgraded neighborhoods based on the demographics of their residents—such as the presence of Black, immigrant, or impoverished families—rather than assessing value solely on the physical condition of the property.

FDR implemented redlining. The poor and "marginalized" had their neighborhoods downgraded. Thank you, FDR.

I changed my mind . Absolute worst state- hands down- is Florida. Nobody else should move here. Any leftists living here should move to New Mexico. Anyone who doesn't want income tax should move to Texas. If you want endless summer or golf, go to Arizona. But, for fuck's sake, nobody else move here! We're full! Go home!
