The victims were five boys ranging in age from nine to 11 yrs old.

There are lots of places in Texas, such as Wichita Falls and Laredo, that have very low cost of living. If the only consideration was money, I’ll wager that things like Medicare and less corruption would make them more affordable than a lot of places in Mexico.

The judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Friday said he’ll instruct the jury that unless the state proved the teen’s AR-15-style rifle had an unlawfully short barrel, he can’t be convicted of being a minor in possession of a firearm. No such evidence was presented by the prosecution.

With today’s higher inflation and rising interest rates (perhaps with more to come), the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the interest cost of public debt to be $413 billion in 2021. Obviously, any dollar spent on interest cannot be spent on government benefits and services to taxpayers.

On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” Johns Hopkins University Economics Professor Steve Hanke dismissed the “utter rubbish” claims that the Build Back Better reconciliation bill will help with inflation and said that even if no more money was put into the economy, “we’d still have a big inflation problem that will last through 2024.”
Hanke said, “This is utter rubbish what you’ve just played. Inflation is always a monetary phenomenon. It’s how much money the Federal Reserve and the commercial banking system is creating. And they’ve got so much money excess in the monetary bathtub right now that no matter what they do, if they completely cut the spigot off and didn’t put anything in, we’d still have a big inflation problem that will last through 2024.”

Rosenbaum, 36, was a pitiable figure who never should have been on the streets. He was a convicted pedophile with bipolar disorder who had just been released that day from a psychiatric ward in a Milwaukee hospital after a suicide attempt. He appeared deeply unwell, carrying a heavy chain in one hand, swearing, using the N-word and looking for trouble. He already had twice threatened to kill Rittenhouse and his group.”

Incidentally, while a 6.2% increase in prices may be a little scary, the price of unprocessed goods ( raw materials needed to manufacture things ) is up 56% year over year according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That increase will soon be factored into the price of consumer goods.

The problems with the supply chain are deep and complex. Here are just 2 examples.
There is a shortage of about 80,000 long haul truckers along with a shortage of specialized rigs that are licensed to haul containers. These drivers require federal licensing. Training and licensing that many drivers will take a long time. Probably measured in years rather than months.
China still has a near monopoly on many essential goods. For example, it controls 85%-90% of Magnesium production. Magnesium is required to make aluminum among other things. Without magnesium, a wide range of goods like cars and trucks cannot be made.
China has closed much of its magnesium production because of its problems generating enough electricity. This is just one way that a problem in China, intentional or unintentional, can shut down the world economy.
To fix the supply chain issues will require years as manufacturing is moved out of China. Plants must be built. Workers trained. Transportation logistics reinvented.

Something I’ve noticed over the years is that strip club economics are often the reverse of reality. If the economy tanks, and there are fewer customers, dancers will raise their fees. They figure there are half as many customers so they need to double what they charge to keep their lifestyle.

Wow, here’s another strike against the prosecutor
Nathan DeBruin testified in Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial and claimed that prosecutors asked him to change parts of his statement to match their story.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that DeBruin, a Kenosha photographer, was initially subpoenaed by the prosecution but “was brought as a witness for the defense” after claiming prosecutors asked him to change his statement.

I’m watching the trial. The judge has already sent the jury out of the room twice while he admonished the prosecutor. He effectively told him that if he crosses the line one more time, he will declare a mistrial. The judge is pissed.
