Similar with Phoenix. Ten clubs reviewed in last month. Ten more clubs reviewed in last 1-6 months. Seven clubs with no reviews in last 6 months. Relegated to a lesser league.

How does a police officer confuse a taser with a pistol ? Really bad training ? An unqualified candidate for police work ? She is responsible and should pay a price. Ten years seems like too much though. And, what price will the people who hired, trained, and supervised her pay ?

    1. How safe is TJ, 2. How expensive would it be to rent a modest apartment
Average salary in Tijuana is US$12,000, which means there are plenty of people making US$8,000. Suddenly. a gringo moves in to a cheap apartment among the locals and flashes money buying hookers. Yeah, perfectly safe.

“Any reasonable discussion about COVID will take us to the need for Universal Health Care. “ Our national health care “experts” have been fucking up since day one. Contradictory advice. Lies. Ignoring data. Inciting fear. And, your conclusion is we should give these arrogant bureaucrats control over our health care ? I don’t think so.

    Omicron
Omicron started in South Africa and has already run its course there. It spreads like wildfire, does little damage, and ( apparently ) leaves all it infects with natural immunity against all CoVid. Hell, that’s what the vaccine was supposed to do.

Upright: Arrogant, lazy, and ignorant is not a good way to go through life. It leads to a false sense of superiority and constant disappointment when no one else shares that opinion of yourself.

Yes. One of the reasons that Omicron is causing little damage is because, between vaccinations and prior infections, the vast majority of the population is protected They can get infected ( and improve their immunity ) but easily fight off the infection unless they are very old and very sick. This is, in fact, a strong argument for opening things back up. We don’t close the country when cold and flu season hits. Omicron lethality is in the same ballpark as the typical flu. We need to stop pretending that CoVid will require a lifetime of booster shots and social isolation.

Clay Travis — “The NFL is 95% vaccinated, the NBA is 97% vaccinated, the NHL is nearly 100% vaccinated. All three leagues are still overwhelmed and hitting new Covid case highs. So how is Joe Biden arguing vaccines will end Covid? The pro sports leagues prove that’s 100% a lie.”

I’m forming an opinion that Omicron is what we used to call the flu. Some have few symptoms. Some feel like shit for a few days ( and out of fear go to the hospital ). And, for some who are very old or very sick, it’s the last straw that kills them. Just like the regular flu.

    Omicron
The first real-world study looking at 78,000 omicron cases in South Africa found the risk of hospitalisation is 29 per cent lower compared with the Wuhan strain, and 23 per cent lower than delta, with vaccines holding up well. Far fewer people have also needed intensive care from omicron, with just five per cent of cases admitted to ICU compared to 22 per cent of delta patients, the study shows.

    OT: Tesla Stock ?
I invest in index funds, with a little dabbling in Apple. Over the last 10 years, I’ve averaged 14% return. Could I have done better if I’d invested more in individual stocks ? Maybe, but not likely. Would I have done better with crypto ? If I’d gotten in early enough, absolutely. But, 14% has been more than enough to steadily gain wealth. And, I have spent no time worrying about my investments. Simple. No stress. Good enough for me.

    Abortion has been banned
Abortion should be regulated by laws, not by the court making rules out of whole cloth. For a law to be effective, it must have broad support from the people. A complete ban on abortions wouldn’t work. A law allowing partial birth abortions at 9 months wouldn’t work. Eventually, we’ll have laws on a state-by-state basis that set limits on abortions that are acceptable to most. Maybe 12 weeks in Texas and 24 weeks in California.

If we could trace the polarization back in time, I think we’d go back to the protests of the 1960s. Then those people populated University sociology, education, journalism, and liberal arts faculties. Their students made their way into the media where they wanted to “ make a difference”.

The real issue with government is corruption and incompetence. Approval ratings are extremely low for every branch of the federal government. As government has grown in size, the potential for corruption has also grown. We have the greatest gathering of grifters in Washington DC in our history. They claim to represent Republicans or Democrats but they are just in it to enrich themselves. We need a house cleaning of revolutionary proportions in our Federal government.

    OT: Tesla Stock ?
^ TSLA was trading around $300 in July 2020. Then, it was $850 in Jan 2021. If you bought in July, you look like a genius. If you bought in January, you’ve underperformed index funds. As the sales departments of mutual funds have learned, you can “prove” almost anything if you are allowed to pick the starting date for a comparison.
