We’re lurching back to normal but it will take some time. Dancers won’t fully return until there is a predictable income stream from regular customers. Customers won’t return until there is a predictable stream of quality dancers. It’ll be patchy until some sort of equilibrium is reached. In the end, sex sells. It’s an unstoppable force.

OT: Our current woke justice system
Most of the leaders in the Middle East are illegitimate Monarchs and Dictators who promote racial division to distract the population. The Muslim clerics are a key part of this. This keeps the dictators and imans in power, much as the Democrats have done in the US by promoting racial division. But, surprisingly , ICEE has stumbled on some truth. The arbitrary way that borders were drawn after the World Wars, has contributed to this crisis. The dispersion of the Kurds is just one example.

Do you support the Hamas Caucus?
With the Abraham Accords, the majority of Israel’s Muslim neighbors have decided to live in peace with Israel. They realize they have a common enemy in Iran and are organizing against it. That leaves Palestine to decide whether they want to live in peace with Israel, as an independent nation, or continue to serve as Iran’s proxy. So far, they’ve made the wrong choice.

“We must work together to ensure the equitable distribution of wealth, opportuni
Don’t try to tell the rest of the world how to live until you’ve had some life experiences yourself. Earn a paycheck. Buy a house. Pay a mortgage. Start a family. Mourn the death of a loved one. Travel Outside the US. In other words, get your own life in order before before you preach to us. Four years of paying to listen to Marxist professors does not qualify you as an expert on life.

The drivel that ICEE posts is what passes for academic excellence in today’s institutes of higher learning. The professor ( who is incapable of getting a job outside academia ) spouts a bunch of Marxist nonsense and the student repeats this verbatim on an exam, without ever bothering to question what it means. Top of the Class ! Then, these excellent students realize no one wants to hire them in the real world. They become bitter and blame their parents, society, capitalism, boomers, and everyone but themselves for failing in life.

You use words as platitudes but don’t explain how they would be applied in practice. Back to my example, one person works hard and saves. Another person spends their time in leisure. What is a fair distribution of wealth between them ? I’ve actually visited Wittgenstein’s grave. Got a great photo of a stray cat crossing over his grave. In this case, Socrates method of defining a term would be more useful and practical.

Included in the MGM library are out takes from the Apprentice that Tom Arnold claims will show Trump using racist language. Bezos will now have access to this. Speculation this was a factor in the purchase decision.

A synonym for equitable is fair. That requires a subjective judgement. Fair for whom ? In what way ? It’s a statement that seems perfectly reasonable until you start applying it in the real world. One person works 2 jobs and saves his money. Another person works part time and spends it all on pot and partying. What is an “ equitable distribution of wealth” for those people ?

Anywhere else in society, if you paid a 15 year old to strip and shower for you, it would be mandatory jail time. But, include a camera, and you can call it art. That camera must be magic.

    Time to pick your favorite
For an explanation, I recommend Thorsten Veblen's Theory of the Leisure Class. It’s all about conspicuous consumption. The more expensive and impractical, the better.

    FUCK IT!
    Megan is a FOX!
A little background on Megan Fox and Michael Bay “She told me she went to director Michael Bay’s house to audition and he made her wash his Ferrari while he filmed her. She said she didn’t know what had happened to the footage. When I put it to Bay himself, he looked suitably abashed. ‘Er, I don’t know where it is either.’” “The first time I ever met him, I was 15 and I was an extra on Bad Boys II,” Fox told Jimmy Kimmel. “We were shooting this club scene, and they brought me in, and I was wearing a stars and stripes bikini and a red cowboy hat, and six-inch heels. And they took me to Mike and he approved it. And they said, ‘You know, Michael, she’s 15, so you can’t sit her at the bar and she can’t have a drink in her hand.’ So his solution to that problem was to then have me dancing underneath a waterfall getting soaking wet. And that’s… At 15. I was in 10th grade. So that’s sort of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works.”

‘Audit the Ultra-Rich' It is an act of justice...
In Italy and Greece, the tax rates are so high that the national obsession is tax avoidance. Anyone who pays taxes is considered an idiot. Even doctors and lawyers find ways to avoid paying any taxes. The solution is not high tax rates, which simply drives the economy underground. The solution is to keep rates at a reasonable level, about 20%, and apply it to all types of income. At that rate, most people won’t feel the need for legal, and illegal, schemes for avoiding taxes. They’ll simply pay it.

Whenever a state, or the federal government, makes revenue estimates like this, it is a static calculation. They assume people will keep doing the same thing even if the tax law changes. People can move. They can move their money. They can change their investments. They can even choose to stop working if the tax burden gets ridiculous. It’s always the same thing. Tax rates increase. People change their behavior. No additional tax revenue is collected.

A sensible immigration reform that should have unanimous support would fix this. Secure borders and merit based immigration relative to job openings. Unfortunately, in today’s political climate, that won’t fly.

    People are disappearing
“ China, India and many countries in Africa have out-of-control overpopulation,” That might currently be true for Africa. It is no longer true for India and China. The distribution of the population by age might result in population growth for a while but the lower fertility rate at child bearing ages will eventually result in a contraction.

    People are disappearing
In 1798, Thomas Malthus put forward his widely read theory that food production could not keep up with population growth. At that time, the world population was one seventh what it is now. Just saying. We’ll be fine no matter what.

    People are disappearing
There are some bright spots in Africa “By the mid 1990s, Ghana was once again experiencing rapid economic growth, thanks to good governance put forward in policies and plans looking to improve the quality of life for Ghanaians. These gains were boosted in 2007 with the discovery of off-shore oil, and Ghana’s economy was showing signs of bursting at the seams. In 2019, Ghana was referred to as “the world’s fastest growing economy” with terms such as “skyrocketing” being used to describe its growth. In just three decades Ghana made a total turnaround and became the world’s fastest growing economy. The country has also consistently ranked in the top three countries in Africa for freedom of speech and press freedom according to The World Bank. These successes all stem from good governance and a shift towards sustainable development.”

Keep an eye on Africa. That’s the last remaining continent with a growing population. They also have untapped natural resources. For the African nations with a stable government and rule of law, economic growth could be huge for the next 20-30 years. Forget Dogecoin. Invest in Nigeria.

    People are disappearing
There are an awful lot of depressed twenty-somethings who are convinced the world is going to be an environmental disaster as they age. As I contemplate a declining population, it could be more of an Eden at some point in their lifetime. Technology and population decline will reduce pollution to near zero. Technology will raise living standards. Wide open, natural spaces will expand. It should be a great time to be alive.

Humans have a way of responding. No trend is linear. As the population declines, there will be all sorts of incentives to start having babies again. Government will offer financial incentives. Land and housing will be incredibly cheap. Farmland and clean water will be in abundance. Hell, robots will do most of the work, so we’ll have lots of time to procreate.
