I was informed by my employer today that I will be going to St Louis, MO for five days in March/April. Naturally I kept a straight face as my first though was what the strip clubs are like. I've just been looking at the club listing for MO and there is only one for St Louis, but it has terrible ratings.

Are there really no clubs in St Louis, it looks like quite a large city and I was a bit surprised not too find more cubs listed?

Naturally it's all expenses paid so I won't be skint before my Vegas trip !

There's a few clubs in East St. Louis / Washington Park, IL. See here, under "East St. Louis": https://tuscl.net/listings/United%20Stat…

The biggest two are the Hustler club and Scarlett's, they're right across the street from each other, and maybe a 10 minute Uber ride from downtown. Scarlett's I would not recommend, I wrote a recent review about it and it was terribly dead when I went. Hustler club is probably your best bet. I had a terrific time there years ago on a drive across the country, but unfortunately I can't speak to how it is now. A co-worker of mine used to live in St. Louis and claimed the club scene used to be amazing in St. Louis, but that it's gone downhill in recent years.

Did you do something to piss off your employer ?

    That sounds like a punishment.

@Ronjax2. The penny just dropped, to see the East St Louis listing I had to go to the Illinois section. Thanks for your reply.

Hustler in East St Louis is one of my favorite clubs. Beautiful dancers, great stage show, decent dances, not outrageous prices.

There are a few other clubs nearby. Non-dive ones include Scarlett's and Diamond Cabaret. Both are ok, but they're more expensive and not as good as Hustler, in my experience. Also nearby is Dollie's which more of a dive. You're more likely to get extras there than Hustler, but the dancer quality is much lower and the stage shows are worse. C-Mowe's is also not far but is day-shift only (noon till 7, I think) and not really a strip club. It's more a bar to hang out with strippers. Tips can get you a pretty friendly hangout, and they have a private VIP rather than regular dances.

Downtown St Louis isn't a bad place to visit. The Arch is nifty. There are a few decent restaurants. If you're into hockey or baseball, both teams play downtown (when in season). if you enjoy burlesque as well as strip clubs, there's a pretty good show at the Boom Boom Room. Union Station is beautiful and a nice place to have a snack or drink. Forest Park is nice. City Museum is unique. There are worse places to be sent.

I’ve never been to the East St Louis clubs but at one time East St Louis was nationally known as one of the most dangerous cities in America.

I am guessing it’s not the safest place to visit after dark and be careful where you wander.

Yeah actually St. Louis during the turn of the 20th century was considered one of the crown jewels America. Used to be called "The Rome of the West" and actually hosted the 1904 Olympics. Probably couldn't do that today, as today it's probably our most ghetto city. You don't want to go to the North side. And probably even stay out of downtown at night. https://youtu.be/gg1VA5OlSJM?si=LrVbcTSK…

Skyline isn't that great but once you really get into some of the neighborhoods, it's got all these old red brick buildings, definitely a real historical cities (although nothing on London obviously) You got the Ansheiser Busch factory. The Arch you can go up in.

Food wise I would stick to "The Hill" It's like the italian American neighborhood, it's trip back to the 40's. The baseball player Yogi Berra is from there, he was a really funny dude. They got there own itailian American food over there. They got this cheese you can't find anywhere else called Provel, some like it, some hate it but it's on most stuff there. They also invented Toasted Ravioli in that neighborhood, I would reccomend trying some of that. Any of those restaurants and delis there are good and the area is safe.

A good BBQ place I would reccomend in Midtown is Pappy's smoke house. Really popular spot.

They also invented gooey butter cake in St. louis but that stuff is too sweet for me. Also St. Loius style pizza, I don't like it. Imo's is the chain it's a cracker crust with provel cheese, just so you know what your getting into.

Strip club wise most joints are free for all's. Diamond club to me is the best combo of talent and mileage. I had a ton of fun in those back booths but it's been a few years now. It's sister club country rock cabaret is right next door. The gas stations in the East St. Louis area are a good indicator of the neighborhood as those attendants are in a bulletproof glass fortress.

St. Louis is also one of those most die hard baseball cities, they love the Cardinals there, I don't if they'll be a game going on when your there though. Also something to do.

I went to Larry Flynts once and they must use this cleaner where I couldn't even stand it, I had to leave, I hate all that chemical bullshit that people spritz in the fucking air. Just poison.

Some of these spots have dayshits too. You could definitely have fun across the Mississippi river one of the better strip club areas in America for sure. Mileage is high as all fuck.

If the OP wants the thrill of being mugged and/or car jacked east St. Louis is a great spot. I would never permit a friend with an accent to travel there.

I will second what RonJax's coworker said about the East St. Louis scene. It was one of the best metro areas for strip clubs back 10+ years ago, but it has gone downhill. A lot of the clubs are now charging $40 or $50 per song (3-4 minutes) for private dances. Hustler is probably the best of the strip clubs still in business. You will find the best looking dancers working there, but it is also a "clean club", meaning no extras. Private dances are a better value than the other clubs. East St. Louis is very rundown with a lot of poverty, crime, and drugs. Heroin and methamphetamine are easy to get if you like to party. Sometimes you will see dancers with scars from drug use at the lower end strip clubs. The lone strip club on the Missouri side of the metro area, Rhonda's, is a bikini bar and not worth going to in my opinion.

Off of I-255 on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River there is a sports bar called Top Shooters that I frequent when in the area. The food is good, the beer is cold, and the servers are required to dress like sluts. Most of them are college-aged and hot. There used to be a bar/restaurant with topless waitresses in St. Louis proper, but it was shut down in 2020.

lol on keeping a straight face while thoughts went straight to St Louis club scene. That time of year will be good too. Still a bit chilly but temperatures should be ok by then.

Muddy’s food suggestions are accurate - I’ve been to the area 30-40 times over the past 15 years.

For these clubs, which are all east of the Mississippi River, a rental car would be preferred otherwise you may run up quite a few Ubers. If drinking goes hand in hand with your clubbing, alas, Ubers may be best. Agree that Hustlers and Scarlett’s should be seen - only 1/2 mile from each other.

Miss Kitty’s also very close by. A few shadier places also in the area such as C Mowe’s, Cheeks and Dollies.

I'll let others comment on the strip club scene there, because the only time I was ever there was nearly 20 years ago, but you can check out the Cahokia mounds, which was a pre-Columbian city on the Illinois side of the river. They have some old Route 66 places, including a bridge you can walk across the Mississippi on. And they have casinos in the area.

If you have any flexibility in arranging your flights, fly to Detroit and spend a night in the strip clubs there. Then fly on to St Louis the next day.

Or, OP, you just need to convince your boss to let you do a 1 day layover in San Diego so you can hit TJ. Looking at your review history, TJ is the only place that's going to compare favorably with the FKKs you've visited.

@ Ronjax2 - Unfortunately San Diego is a 'little' further than St Louis. However, I have already been thinking about staying over in Detroit for at least one night on the way home. My last day there for work is probably going to be the last Friday in March so I can use the 'visiting friends' excuse.

I hope to make it to TJ one day.
