Hot dancers, good dances, terrible dance purchase process
I was back recently and everything is pretty much the same. Some really beautiful dancers and delightful stage shows. Decent semi-private dances with light to medium grinding and wandering hands. Aggravating purchase process (though this time I had less trouble with the ticket sellers). To RockAllNight's comment, I tried extending a few dances. It was just awkward sitting there while the dancer left to pay. When they came back, they made it clear they could wait to start on a fresh dance or just start, meaning not a full song. No extended time fell in my lap.

Bar with tits, unexceptional dancers, but potential for casual entertainment
I don't know if adding a comment here "bumps" the review. I was back at C-Mowes recently, but the review above could pretty much stand in for my latest visit, so it doesn't seem worth re-writing it all. This isn't a traditional strip club, but it can be a place for casual fun. They do have a several new dancers. One is very curvy and fit, another is petite and cute, and a third was sort of in between - slender and a bit soft. All were friendly.

I'm fine. I'm disgusted with my life and myself, but I'm not unhappy about that.
Still no discounted cover for calling ahead?
I still frequent Palomino because I like the stage show, the semi-private dances, and the fit dancers. It's also nice to pair with a walk down to Chicas, though on a weekend night Chicas is fire-hazard crowded making it less fun. Years ago Palomino would pick up a single rider, but since then I've always walked over from Jerry's. In my last few visits I've been charged nothing, $15, $30, and $60 with no clear reason for the difference. I always tell them I walked over to avoid the cab spiff, but I'm not sure that matters. As skibum observed, I've been slightly more likely to be waved in if I arrived earlier, but that's not certain. I've been charged cover early and charged nothing after 9. Last year I was there and paying my $30 when a trio of guys showed up. They were told they had to buy a bottle and table, like $600 or something. So it can be pretty random. I think it mostly depends on what the bouncer feels like doing at the moment. Which is an irritating way to run the door, but whatever. The higher cover charges come with drink tickets, so it's sort of like enforcing a drink minimum.

Club advice for vegas
Talk of the Town is, imho, more of a dive than Chicas, not less. It's probably less crowded, however. Palomino is perhaps a bit less refined than I remember Cheetahs being, but definitely not sketchy. The era of $20 floor dances is gone, but you can get (mostly) private nude dances starting at 3/$100. They have a good stage show, and reasonable (for Vegas) drink prices. It's also basically next door to Chicas Bonitas if you want to spend some time at a less nice place with more heavy duty grinding. For something nicer than Palomino, I've had decent times at Treasures and Sapphire. Lots of people have reported good times at Spearmint Rhino, but I've had poorer experiences. All of three have floor dances, but they'll vary in price from $20 to $40+ each, and all have more expensive drinks. Crazy Horse III was quite nice inside, with attractive dancers. I remember having a decent time, but it was pricey. And they played stupid games like giving you club money instead of real cash when you get change, and short-changing you by $2 for the privilege. But that was a couple years ago, so maybe things have changed.

The Empire Strips Back
Burlesque shares a bit of the entertainment Venn diagram with strip clubs, but is really a separate thing. To start, they tend not to be interactive, and usually the nudity is limited to thongs + pasties. That said, the performances can be quite entertaining. If you like goofy singing, dancing, or skits with some disrobing along the way, they are good time. Some (like those in Vegas) tend to also include circus arts (acrobatics, etc). And some do have quite attractive people doing the disrobing. I haven't seen the linked show, but the Boom Boom Room in St. Louis has had Star Wars or otherwise geek-themed shows in the past. I've been to a dinner show there. They pushed the drinks hard. The food was fine. The show was entertaining, with dancing, hoop/lyra work, some silk climbing stuff, and of course the shaking of pastie-covered boobs. Physically the women ranged from "average off the street" to "would love to see in a strip club". They have different shows over time, and I think their cast varies a bit. The Zombie Burlesque show in Las Vegas was an elaborate production. Talented singing and dancing, good makeup and effects, etc.. The performers, mostly but not entirely women, were very attractive. At least some of the nipples were free. They handed out Jello shots near the end. This was a fun show. I haven't been in years, so it might have changed. More recently, I saw Rouge, also in Las Vegas. This one had more dancing, a little less of the circus/variety acts, and a more casual story line than the Zombie show. The people were all beautiful. Some danced out in the crowd a bit for a close up view. Rouge was good, and I enjoyed it, but it didn't grab me and I probably wouldn't go back.
