Interesting. Any insight as to why?

Maybe the Dressing Room will get some more participants. But we can't read that anyway.

From what I understand, it's been dead for a long while. This just makes it official.

===> "Interesting. Any insight as to why?"

If I had to guess, I suspect that it's because almost nobody who they built it for is still using it. But even during its heyday I don't think they ever really figured out a way to monetize the site, so instead it's been an ongoing expense that I'm sure has been increasingly difficult to justify given the declining numbers.

It's an irrelevant site for old hookers. It's never been a go to for dancers. Private reddit groups and IG pages are a lot more relevant.

I didn’t realize that site had become so irrelevant.

It would be interesting if the dancer posting there came clean and started posting stories about the extras they did. Since it’s closing, that would be a way to go out with a bang…

'Stripperweb is closing on Feb 1'

Boy I'm all broke up about that since all through the years I've only been there less than 10 times and only when someone here posted a direct link to a topic.
Stripperweb, I hardly knew you and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Kinda sad news I guess. I was a regular on the Strip Club Junkiie (blue) portion of the site before migrating over here. I got to know Richard Head, Chili Palmer, and other Arizona PLs from that site many years before this site started to take off. However, it did deteriorate, especially after an alleged sexual assault scandal between a site member and dancer. Nothing is a constant as change, and the closure of SW is just more evidence of that.

From time-to-time some dancers on-here mention reddit or FB-private-groups – likely these 2 options serve dancers better and why perhaps SW lost its appeal w/ dancers?

It's been dead for a while. I think a lot of girls don't use it anymore cuz it is way too anonymous and at least half the strippers on there that post are total bullshit artists.

Lol! I haven’t ventured over to their website in many moons and gandered over there to see what has been posted out of curiosity. I thought some of you may enjoy this thread, especially their comments regarding RickDugan. I think jaded is the overall theme. Looks like only a few more days until it becomes deactivated.

Unfortunate. Haven't been there for years but I remember any dancer even hinting at extras was vilified by the regulars. Pretty depressing reading about how repulsed the dancers are by their regular customers paying their rent.

I've occasionally lurked over there, and I find it more than a little hypocritical that women who brag about taking advantage of drunk guys, making promises and then not keeping them, and other such ROB behavior, get incensed about someone like rickdugan. Projection much?

    Holy cow, Rick got banned.

And apparently the moderator who is also a strip club DJ is blatantly getting into it with some other mods and long time posters.

This is how the stripperweb ends. Not with a whimper but some flame wars 🍿

But yeah, I’m sad to see stripperweb go just because it’s a cool way to kinda see into the history of the industry. it’s lasted so long after the rise and fall of other stripper platforms as well.

^ I did indeed get banned, when I had the audacity to suggest that they were closing down stripperweb and refusing to sell the site to someone else because they're trying to move the traffic over to Ambercutie. The last thing they want is to had a competing site over to someone else.

Then I opened a new account and said mostly the same thing. They deleted the post and banned the account so fast that I doubt almost anyone saw the post.

The remaining Mods are claiming that they are as in the dark as anyone but IMO that's a crock of shit. Otherwise they wouldn't have cared if someone speculated about why the owner of SW doesn't want to sell. Frankly I'm sure that I'm right and that at least a couple of Mods are in on it somehow. Just give it 3 months, once the dust has settled, and they will quietly redirect the stripperweb URL to the Ambercutie Forum.

It looks like one of the mods is speculating the same thing. Which makes sense since the top of the site is recommending Ambercutie

TUSCL should become the website for dancers as well as customers. Founder has, I think, the opportunity to make his site the only good site for strip club info. He has already started by creating the Dressing Room forum for dancers only. He might consider a section of dancer reviews of strip clubs from the dancer perspective, letting dancers know the pros and cons of various clubs.

^ This could work great!!!! Every PL claims to go into a club and fuck any stripper they want, meanwhile every stripper says they’ve never touched a wiener in the club in their entire career!!!!

Now the whole site is redirecting to the shutdown message. I saw the SW forums earlier but got distracted and didn't log in until now. It had been years since I posted there, but would've at least said so long since I never got banned...

There were some fun posters on SW that I missed when I got banned from it. Would be great if they popped up here. Athena especially. Hopefully the failure of SW will be a big lesson to the people on here who are always nagging founder to moderate in a more heavy handed way.

For all of my favs, stripping has meant good money without work taking up such a big part of their time. They don't want to talk about stripping unless it's with someone they know from work irl. The only exception is many of them get really interested in pole work, sometimes floor work.

Maybe it was sold, and they don't want to tell anyone there was a sale, and Ambercutie was the buyer.

Interesting, didn't realize ambercutie might be buying it. I do think in the end that site was better as a forum for camming than stripping.

I think these days stripper social media or reddit has taken off more. They both have a lot of bs too but not as much as stripperweb. They are also not all negative nancies which is nice. At the same time a lot of times when a girl says something like these facts on reddit they get down voted to hell "stripping is slowly dying " or "camming money competes with stripping money"

It’s an interesting read. Lots of interesting history mixed in with more speculation about AmberCutie/MFC

Buying it to shut it down doesn't make sense.

I like this part of the article

In 2002, the internet seemed limitless. It was a place where you could start by typing in what you wanted to read about, whether it was stripping or Jandek, and find people to talk about that stuff with. Today, with capricious billionaires increasingly controlling every aspect of online life, it seems ever more limiting.

GMD why is jt hypocritical for those women to be critical of rickdugan? He doesn’t engage in ROB behavior... but they did, so whats the hypocrisy sir?

Also regarding the comments being repulsed at their customers, its no biggie, girls who date or marry certain types of men have the same kinds of comments... they just wont be posted on stripperweb. Its not something stripper specific
