These SCHOOLS

I believe I heard a stat that in Baltimore schools 4 teachers are assaulted every day. I forget the exact stat but a large percentage of public schools teachers leave the profession entirely within weeks of starting. No discipline, no consequences (it makes the school look bad) no expulsions (# of students decides how much money comes in) And EVERY SINGLE video of a teacher brawling with a student, I INSTANTLY side with the teacher without knowing the surrounding facts.
Would I ever teach? Hell no, maybe catholic school, maybe. I always assume a rough school is like the movie Stand and Deliver but at the end of the day it's probably more like the show OZ.
Got something to say?

I do have in the back of my mind to become a college professor though. I have a graduate degree. I could easily teach junior college marketing or finance classes. And I would be more than willing to give those cute young girls some extra "tutoring" to make sure they get good grades.
Although the police and government actions are weak copouts for justifying bad behavior, the problem of course starts at home. The welfare collecting animals don't teach the younger animals the importance of education and respecting educators.
Not to mention you have the fake news media encouraging disrespect for authority and sanctifying criminals. I give all the credit in the world to teachers because they are in a tough spot but try their best knowing their administration won't support them.
i always wondered if some teachers ever tried this approach:
it's the first day of class. if i was the teacher i would ask the whole class to raise hands if interesting in the opportunity of learning and seeking further knowledge. then i would ask if anyone is not. if hands are raised for the last question i would make the following deal: you can leave and never have to come back to class and i'll give you a passing grade. this might weed out the riff raff.
Early in the football season, I posted a warning about the future of high school football and since then the number of shootings and fights continued to increase
At least two high school basketball games in December just in the Dayton area where I am now had to be stopped over fights
And almost half of referees and officials feel unsafe anymore leading to a critical shortage
Just google “ violence in high school sports” and see how many hits - just in 2022
There was also intolerance coming from the conservative side with some conservative parents wanting books banned that mentioned sex or the theory of evolution. In order for people to get along, you need people to have some tolerance for opposing viewpoints and that type of tolerance seems to be declining.
