Harsh thing I found today...

This man died a month after making that individual post. Sad stuff. Meanwhile I’ve recently texted with two 70+ year olds that I know from my home club and they are still out and about and doing well. Life has a way of being arbitrary. :/

First off, how do we know this isn't fake? Secondly even if real, the guy was clearly obsese and likely had underlying health issues. Thirdly, if its true then he made a choice to keep doing what he loved. Thats his right as an adult.

It’s not fake. Here is his obituary:

And hopefully without incriminating myself too much, I did find that guy’s profile and I have mutual social media friends with him. Those friends are in the industry.

Sounds like it hit you a bit Nicespice. Sorry for your loss. We could all be there if things turn out bad. I don't like most Greatful Dead music but there is one song that fits for me, "I may be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride." None of us know when our time is up so the only thing we can do is enjoy the ride as best as we can. If you let others tell you how to live, you don't even get that so if you are making your own decisions you are picking your own path. Good or bad.

Thanks for the sentiment. I’ve never met this individual so it doesn’t hit me deep. But admittedly yes there is a “close to home” feeling. That post circling around social media has a moral warning bent to it maybe, but that wasn’t really my intent with this thread. Maybe I should have put this thread in the political section though cause I can imagine what direction this is probably going to take...

    @nicespice

    Google says:

“Freddie Garza before his death was the Manager/Marketing Director at Rick’s Cabaret San Antonio”

    Is this the same man?

I'm sorry to hear of this death. Once Biden is in office, America will have a decent and intelligent president who will use science to defeat the pandemic.

Don't mess with Karma because that bitch will kick your ass. That applies both to the theory of karmic retribution and strippers named Karma.

That is sad news. This pandemic sucks.

It seems there are two sides to each coin. He brags about raw dogging strippers and he suffers an early death from covid.

I hope he was at peace with his life when he passed.

Shit happens. He was morbidly obese and likely had heart issues, diabetes and other comorbidities. I hate to sound callous, but he was probably not long for this world anyway.

Defeat the pandemic lol. Biden to the rescue lol. Kamala Harris polling 5th in her home state in the primaries will be co-president with a senile old man and a wife who calls herself "doctor" even though she's neither and MD or a Phd and teaches at a community college. They are fucking brilliant and have decided to inhale all the covid germs and die for the sake of humanity, apparently because they loved t he Green Mile just so damn much. Science brought us the theory of Eugenics, which was the bedrock of the Socialist Nazi party. Yay for science.

I am all for personal liberty. I don’t care what anyone does or what risks they take unless it impacts others. I am older but in pretty good health. If it was only my health at risk I might be tempted to go clubbing, partying without masks, But it is not just my health at stake. It is my wife’s, my doctor’s, store clerks, countless others I might come in contact with. I will keep my interactions with others to a minimum, wear a mask and just wait until the vaccine is widely available. I see no point in getting a lap dance with masks on.

Yeah, harsh I guess but I'm not sure how bad I feel. Never want to see a preventable loss of life, but he's an adult and he took a risk and it didn't work out. He's not alone.

Hopefully he didn't spread it to any other vulnerable types in his other day to day activities.

"and a wife who calls herself "doctor" even though she's neither and MD or a Phd and teaches at a community college"

A doctorate does not have to be a Ph.D. and an MD is not a research doctorate. It is a professional degree, like a J.D. A Doctor of Education has the same right as a Ph.D. or MD to use the title of Dr. That's how degrees work. If it was earned, people can take offense at the use of a title but that's a personal issue. And there is nothing wrong with teaching at a community college, any more than there's a problem with attending one.
