Bill Would Require Occupational Licenses for Porn Actors, Strippers, Cam Girls

jackslash
Detroit strip clubs
Yikes! They would have to get a license, take training classes and be fingerprinted. This is obviously an attempt to shut women out of these jobs.

This is obviously an attempt by the Democratic party to control every aspect of your your life. They hold a super majority in California and can pretty much do what ever they want. Imagine if they had control of the whole country.

I'm involved in a thread about this on a private group on Facebook. Basically, from what everyone is saying, permits/additional licensing is required almost everywhere already. And fingerprints are required to get those permits, but not everywhere.
Detroit and Florida both require permits. I was fingerprinted in FL for mine. Detroit doesn't fingerprint, but they do a background check.

^ Only certain counties in FL require permits. Many counties in FL do not. Also, licensing is mot definitely NOT required almost everywhere - it is more of an exception than the norm limited to more controlling areas. There are vasts swaths of the country you can work in as a stripper and never have to get fingerprinted or issued a license.

Having an entire state make it a requirement is almost unheard of. Even in those more controlling areas in which it is required, it is usually a county or city ordinance.

Yup. Soon the only people left in CA will be the obscenely rich, the extremely poor sucking social benefits of off their largess and those whose worldview are so far left that they can't function anywhere else.

That kind of licensing would suck. It is just a way to intimidate.

What else is there in California now? Add some retired Navy vets in San Diego and I think you have 90% of the state accounted for.

There is transcendentalism right in the CA soil. In Steinbeck's Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday, the most impressive characters are Mac and his group of bums.

But no one sucks social benefits off of the largess of the obscenely rich. The rich do no produce wealth, or much of anything at all. It is workers who produce wealth.

Social benefits are needed to make our society function, as is progressive taxation.

I don't read Reason Magazine, but I look at this now, I do not recognize the names of the State Assembly members.

Sex workers should protest this themselves, and openly. This can be defeated, just like the ballot measure about having to wear condoms in porno movies.

I have been finger printed in Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, and Alabama, where I also had to get licenses, and I have taken a test and a class in Seattle, in Dallas I had a federal background check completed to work.

    Was is hard—no

Did it prevent me or make it harder for me to work in the club—no

It makes the city extra money, it lets the police see where us “degenerate” citizens could be found if we have a warrant. It is a somewhat annoying step but most everywhere you get it done in under an hour. Certain Seattle area licensing can be like a scavenger hunt where you have to go to multiple places. But where there’s a will, there’s a way.

We have a licensing in this county, and it scares off the younger dancers, all the more so as our clubs are no touching. So they would be getting new and no mileage girls. The law is just there to intimidate.

Also good, and there is an open crotch and even a back door oriented version of this on the market.

@Pink: Not every girl is as ambivalent as you about having that kind of electronic trail. Background checks also preclude employment for girls who have had past issues, under the very nanny like assumption that they can't be trusted in a place like a strip club.

Remember the Jazz Musican Thelonius Monk?

LE lifted his Cabaret Card over a Marijuana Bust, and so he was out in the cold for a long time.

AMPs have been screwed up in CA by a licensing requirement.

They can lift a license, and it is by a far lower standard of proof then Beyond a Reasonable Doubt and a Jury Trial.

^^^ This seems to be the same AB-5 which is impacting CA strip club operations.

So, training to give a bj without being seen by the bouncer?

Maybe a class to get certified in FRMOS and TLN? I’m sure SJG would be excited over that!
