man killed in a shooting at a Phoenix strip club early Saturday morning was identified as 23-year-old Kirk Anthony Kariker, police said.
The shooting happened at Jaguars strip club near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road just before 3 a.m., Phoenix police spokesman Detective Luis Samudio said.
Kariker was involved in a fight inside the club and was escorted out, Samudio said.
While in the parking lot, Kariker retrieved a gun from his vehicle and pointed it at several people in the parking lot, police said. A 22-year-old man also retrieved a gun and fired multiple rounds, striking Kariker, police said.
He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead. The shooter was detained and cooperated with investigators, Samudio said.
There were no criminal charges filed as of 10:30 a.m., Samudio said.
An investigation is ongoing.
