OT: Quantum computers are BS

I've listened to many presos describing how they work and seems to defy reality.
I think there is a good chance it's just a bunch of nerd physics folk making shit up hoping to get laid.
Got something to say?

IDK exactly what it's about or if it will work but glad they continue to push the envelope and do research that may bear fruit even if the original concept does not.
Back in 1986 an engineering intern pontificated that "a 100 kilohertz computer has to be the limit because the voltage would cause current to jump across the circuits" if they were spaced as closely as would be required. I laughed and told him that he was playing a fool's game.
Thirty-three years later we have 2 to 3 GHz quad processors and 264 Gbyte memory chips that are smaller than my thumbnail and are about as thick.
I repeat, don't bet against the technology.
No, using a quantum computer won’t make porn better. It won’t make video games look more realistic. It really won’t do much at all to speed up your day-to-day computer activities in any direct way.
The only thing amazing that it will do is solve extremely complex problems—problems that would take a regular supercomputer days, weeks, months, to compute—in significantly shorter time (seconds). The only way this could speed up typical computers is to use the quantum computer to solve problems in the field of computer technology research (like solving some huge problem to make transistors 10% better, and then manufacturing the new transistor).
The issue now with speeding up a silicon based chip is that the size of the transistor "gate" at roughly 10 nanometers is approaching the size of atoms themselves at less than 1 nanometer in diameter. This is a hard limitation on how the transistor works due to quantum effects changing the material properties of it. So there is a limit approaching on the speed of a chip and already we see that with clock speeds no longer doubling every two years like they have over the last thirty. So in order to advance computing power there needs to be a solution beyond silicon chips. Quantum computing is just one possible solution.
And LOL the possibilities are endless. Think of porn that is completely computer generated with an AI that knows exactly what you want and acts like a real person with live interaction with you and also is photo real on the screen. With computer advancements our porn has become better and better. With quantum computing it will make what we watch today seem like an old blue movie on tape reel.
For the record, I do think it will open up the possibility of even "smarter" interactive software.
