Nicole at one time McCain was portrayed as one of the worst racist in public office because he did not support the creation of MLK day. What specific actions make you believe Trump is a racist?
Aurum, he was a big government country club Republican early in his career. A Republicrat after Keeting five to cover for his embarrassment of getting caught. Towards the end a blue dog democrat. The only constant was his love of government growth and reach, albeit with differing goals than the socialist leaning modern left.
The whole anti-MLK holiday has nothing to do with race, yet it has everything to do with the Federal government dictating and imposing their might onto state rights. In the early 90’s, Arizona was and still is fighting for individual rights and the MLK holiday was widely mistaken as a racist political football when it was only about anti-big government. For those who own property her in Arizona, you know that individual rights are extremely powerful. There is no other state in the union that declares stronger property rights than in Arizona, and this value was being carried over to the Feds dictating how the state was to allocate their time, too.
The MLK issue was one of the biggest misunderstandings in race relations, but as we’ve learned every liberal Democrat wants to exploit race to further their socialistic agenda. Similar to George Soros funding Antifa and the Black Lives movement. McCain felt every human being had the right to be free without the long arm of big government intervening, and that’s what the issue really was about, not racism. You can’t get anywhere in our world by being a true racist, which is why people are so quick to pull out the race card when things don’t go their way. It’s smoke and mirrors bing blown from the left.
The thing I admired most about John McCain was his ability to stand for what he felt was right, and once the issue was settled, never remembered him to make a personal attack on those whom which he dissagreed. Even stand up to those that would make personal attacks on those he disagreed with.
Good man all the way around, R.I.P.
A true example of someone who could disagree with others, but when issue was settled moved on to support the decision. Both parties should follow that example and maybe things would get done to benefit the majority of the people. Prayers out to his family !!!
Meat. I agree but that is not the way it was portrayed and I don't think he was a racist but at the time that was the hammer used against him.
Twentyfive. From what I've read he was a charismatic person that held a grudge and worked behind the scenes to stick it to those he felt stood in his way. His stands would change depending on his desire for reelection or position in the hierarchy of power. He was just way better at spinning his changes in his stances in his own inarticulate way. I don't begrudge him for that, I'd probably would have enjoyed meeting before the Keeting five thing - afterwards no.
^ I don’t know that to be true, it might be, yet he co sponsored bills with Ted Kennedy, his near polar opposite, was most gracious in his concession speech to President Obama, was always trying to get immigration reform, yet opposed the nasty rhetoric surrounding it, I’d say on balance, his life, was a life of service, and agree or disagree with his positions, he was always truthful and positive.
^^^ I will stick up for him as part of the Keeting 5, because even though he got a good deal, it was a loan for which was paid back. Average people like you and I would t have gotten that deal, but he was a congressman and with it came the perks.
As far as holding grudges, McCain also learned to let go. He was the one who casted a deciding vote to end the embargo against North Vietnam in the early 90’s. If I was in his shoes I probably would have wanted every N. Vietnamese person to starve, but he put his past behind him and opened up trade to his enemy.
Sorry, I was referring to another deal besides the Keating 5 for McCains personal finance. He did start campaign finance reform after being found innocent from the Keating 5 trial.
^^^ Dude, I think Nicole is actually SJG because when you bring up a solid point without any counter, she will just ignore your truth and move into another false narrative. Smoke and mirror show by Nicole1994-out!
Twentyfive. One of my mom's cousin was a former presidential cabinet secretary, it's true. His work across the aisle way only if he saw political gain. I see no problem for a politician to be that way. But he was no aultristic leader as politicians and media are protraying him as since his illness and death.
Paul "the wet noddle" Ryan is retiring so why hate him? He a non factor in a few months. You need to rely more on logic and clear though than your feeling Nicole.

All indications are that the US and Mexico have reached agreement on a trade deal. Final technical points should be reached next week. This will pave the way for closer cooperation between the two countries on a wide range of issues where there is common ground, including Corruption and fighting drug cartels.
Twentyfive I'm sure in person I would have liked him, just as most that have met him do. He had a set of brass balls as a POW
Mark94. Read past Mexican President Fox's discussion on how the Mexican economy is structured. I doubt government corruption and the drug cartels will ever be taken seriously by the leadership(political, corporate and elite) of Mexico.
Oh wow. My semantics were wrong, but concept was the same (discrimination against a group based on origin ) ...
If he isnt a racist, that comment showed discrimination against an ethnicity , which is just as bad as discriminating on thr basis of race, ..
Lmao basically you said that it is ok to discriminate based on race but not ethnicity by pointing out how i was wrong in say is racist , but not acknowledging the inherent discriminatory nature of trump's comment
Read my reply again Nicole. You once again used your feelings to rationalize your beliefs. Illegal alien is the legal term and it makes not reference to ethnicity.
AMLO won the vote not because he was Socialist but because was anti-corruption. Will he deliver ? Can he deliver in an environment where corruption at all levels is rampant ? I don’t know but, in the words of Jim Carey, there is a chance.
He said something to the extent. Mexico sends criminals to the USA Are all the illegal boarder crossers Mexican? Does the Mexican government and cartels profit from trafficking of people? I go back to the point if one enters any country without legal status to do so, they have committed a crime and that makes them a criminal.
Specifically to your point. He made no remark about Mexicans that do not break our law by entering this country illegally.
@eyeofodin you're debating someone whose knowledge and rationality is based upon what ultra liberal university professors spoon feed her as well as whatever is 'trending' on the internet.
Indeed pistola my good man. Nicole is very much a vapid girl who just needs to STFU and go back to the kitchen and make you a sandwich.
Good thing I’ve always heard very spot on, objective, and insightful things about politics, economics, and society from you. Like only a man could. Girls like to just focus on themselves and their hair and makeup.
Since I’m always hustling on the streets, it’s tough for me to be knowledgeable on these things. But in the hands of a very smart, rational man such as pistola, I should be able to improve my head knowledge. After all, his posts are always very smart and objective and devoid of repeats of whatever others say.
Keep runnin that street game. I'll make Nicole make an extra ham sammich for ya. And I don't know that much about politics just that it's a highly propagandized affair by both corrupt sides.
McCain changed from a conservative to a so-called “maverick” as a result of the “Keating Five” scandal. It was all about Charles Keating and his Lincoln Savings and Loan. It began in March 1987 when Keating asked both Arizona senators — Dennis DeConcini and McCain — for help with federal banking regulators who were examining Lincoln.
In at least two meetings, McCain, DeConcini and three other senators pressured the regulators to go easier on Keating and Lincoln. At the second meeting, Sen. John Glenn (D-Oh) told the regulators to indict Lincoln or get off its back.
Eventually, the five senators had accepted over $300,000 in campaign funds from Keating, the most going to McCain. With McCain, the Keating scandal didn’t end with the meetings and campaign contributions.
In 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators, McCain’s wife and father invested over $300,000 in a Keating real estate project. McCain also made trips to places such as a Keating-owned Bahamas resort at Keating’s expense.
When Lincoln S&L failed, taxpayers lost about $2 billion. A Senate Ethics Committee investigation of the “Keating Five” found that McCain had exercised poor judgment but didn’t otherwise penalize him.

So what is your next example?

Try again
BUT THAT WAS NOT LOL.he explicitly referred to mexicans as a whole, as opposed to a subset of mexicans (illegal aliens )

Kamala flaunts her disregard for the Constitution.
Good riddance ACA or at least individual mandate.
