They're annoying to dance on. In clubs where there is different seating in each dance booth, I always go for the ones with the sofas. The armchairs just restrict how much wiggle the dancers can do.

IME, chairs that are comfortable for sitting usually suck for getting dances - for me less is more, the less furniture the less there is for it to get in the way.

For one, chairs w/ arms restrict the FCG position (armless chairs are great for this) - as ldk82 mentioned, the arms are restrictive for both you and the dancer often leading the dancer to spend more time standing up in front of you and less time grinding - when it comes to floor-dances I prefer the smallest most basic type chair so it won't be in the way.

One can still get freaky on a chair w/ arms but takes more effort - e.g. she can still get on you FCG either by putting her legs over the arms or you sliding down and forward past the arms.
