Actually the vagina is on the inside. What you are talking about is Labia.
The outside is "Labia Majora" and is the area of the "Vulva" that has pubic hair. The "Labia Minora" are the inner lips that may or may not protrude. They are more sensitive than the outer lips. An "inny" has no labia minora showing. the rest of the "types" have labia minora protruding to at least some extent.
