My Goal and plan on achieving six figures a year in the next five to ten years

JuiceBox69
Fucking on Young N Dumb Chicken Heads
I plan on achieving this through lots of hard work

First my job...in the near future I will achieve the next position witch will be $20 an hour for a min of 60 hours weekly that alone is is $70,000 roughly and is my most realistic source to making it happen

Second is poker....getting ready to move up to $5/$10 witch means I'm buying in for $1,000 at this level I should be able to grind out a realistic profit of $20 an hour....I will be using a 40 hour work week . That's a realistic $40,000 a year...this will be my second most likely source to help achieve the goal in the next five to ten years

As you can see those two main options will basically get me their in a honest realistic fashion.

But I will be diversify my investment in this time frame with other things such as stocks, real estate, currency, precious metals, bonds and small business start ups.

A good example of a recent small business I'm actually looking into is a janitor business that gets contacts to clean other places of business like factories and office buildings. I'm investigation into a franchise opportunity that will get me in the door with their training and name brand in the industry.

Of course I want be able to do it myself but the beauty of it is this will give me the opportunity to manage my first employee once I get everything together.

Anyways at least I'm trying...worse case I gain lots of knowledge and experience in life lol

Then you'll get to have jestie214 (aka Triple-J aka J-Cube for Jestie the Jealous Janitor) as your employee!

Take it from a miserable welder who makes $31-55/Hourly depending on location. MONEY will make you miserable, I've worked 7 10 hour days for a year and regret everything. Your saying your gonna work like 100 Hours a week? That's crazy.

I'm hoping to be a milionaire in the next 5 to 10 years as well. Then a double millionaire within 4 years after that. I'm taking it slow though waiting for the right investment opportunity while learning new skills and strategies. My next step is move away from virtual trading options and start making real money. Options have a lot of different strategies and I prefer to make mistakes with virtual money. My virtual account is already up 60,000 in a few months and my goal was just to practice trades, not maximize money. I figure taxes will slow me down though. I think it's like playing poker. I need to wait for a higher probability setup.

I would hate working every day of the week even if they paid me over 100k a year.
I remember working 19 days straight and the following Saturday felt like a vacation day.

You could work these 100 hour weeks. Or you could just short some treasuries. :-)

I'd be worried about the poker in particular. Last time I played online it was starting to become bot dominated, and the AI field is advancing very rapidly now. Unless you have some AI on your side, how long do you expect the game to remain profitable?

What I don't know is when politicians will screw us all over with entitlements since the future liabilities with these programs are like 100 trillion dollars and the only thing Obama did was make it worse by several trillion. Almost No politician wants to hardly even talk about it because there isn't enough money in the US to pay even the increase Obama added even if you confiscate everyone's yearly income. You have to be crazy like Ron Paul to talk about it. I plan that politicians both democrat and republicans will put off trying to do anything serious until SHTF and drastic cuts to all programs are required to stop our currency from becoming worthless. There might be an attempt to change currencies. I read something somewhere about a new currency called something llike Ameri something. The FED may have plans. The 2008 financial crisis will likely seem like a junior league crisis when it hits even though we came within an hour of a major financial collapse.

I'm also curious. How exactly are you able to play poker online these days anyway? I thought the sites would not take US customers (except NJ). Have the laws changed or do you some sort of sneaky set up?

I'm playing a free poker app. I was winning a bunch of money playing the lower stakes tables and didn't realize until later I was playing online against real people instead of AI. Lol. I'm still learning though.

I should say chips not money. You can buy chips with real money though. I understand Dougsters question is directed at Juice though.

I'd be super careful with those janitorial franchises, most make no real money and the contracts are held by the master franchiser. Everyone I ever knew that did well in a janitorial company controlled their own contracts and the franchisor will never give that away.

Maybe when Juice is rolling in the dough, he can buy a county in NC or SC and start up a big strip club. Lots of freebies for his old buddies. :). You would need buy in from local politicians or the people so that if anyone attempts to shut it down by doubling money every visit until they got evidence, like they did to a local club, they get shut down before they can do that. Then juice can run for president as a libertarian promising freedom for all. .:)

Ignition, bet online, Americas Card Room and InterTops accept US clients

Your sending your money to some place in China or Costa Rica lol...when you get paid it comes back in from Canada in a check format...it's a risky deal I agree.

No US laws have changed yet and yes Nevada and Jersey have the safe regulated sites

Their is also a way to fool poker sites like poker stars ,888 and party poker into thinking your location is in a place other than the states but you will need a off shore bank account for transactions.

If you play online yes I agree you need all the cheating you can pull off to be profitable and their are some great software and tools to use to accomplish just this but you will need to use two computers one to play the poker and the other one to type in the situation and for it to tell you the best play

The reason you will need another computer is the bigger sites will find out and band you...so if you run it on another device they can't detect it

Live games are much softer and profitable...especially during concert 's and weekends when people come out to get drunk and gamble

Back in my younger I had a few people try to get me into the online poker business. One from setting up a site, the other for writing bot detection software for one of the big online sites. Some of the numbers he was talking about for how much they would pay for good bot detection software were... very impressive. :-)

What I actually believe will happen with these goals...the same as any goal I have set for myself in life...I set a huge goal...big enough to cause me to work long and hard but I never do fully achieve it..I might come close at times but usually kinda close lol

The biggest point is I've learned to enjoy the road and not the results at the end

I will probably have a few flopped business and grind out a mediocre poker income lol...I will probable hold the same position even at work but have a little more pay

I will probable have saved close to six figures and will make $50-70K per year

It's more than enough and I'm just thankful I have the opportunity in general...

Thanks for those that read and reply to my writings

Yep, that's a "grey" area of the world that wanted to recruit me. Had an interesting meeting with an organization that was the blackest of "black" as well - and I ain't talking skin color. I decided I wasn't willing to make the leap, however, getting started with that stuff it's probably hard to get out of. So I just stuck with big reputable corporate names. Sometimes it's fun to think what would have happened if I had chosen otherwise, but I bet in some of those scenarios I would have just ended up six feet under ground or under a bridge.

Like I say. I'm impressed that you are able to crush the game these days. Last time I played I got crushed by a bunch of locals in Vegas. Burned through money far faster than I could imagine. Swore off the game after that.

^^^you realize that traveling and winning at poker is tough. There's a poker game at the dog track in WPB and I do ok, but in the Bahamas and out of town if I'm not careful the money burn can be substantial.

Doug I can feel the pain before I figured out how to mange a win rate that at the micro, low and soon middle stakes I lost a good amount of cash

The biggest thing you got to watch out for is collusion even in casinos lol....at a high level their are professional poker con teams that do it online and even at live games..I've heard it can be bad in Vegas if your not careful...that's a great way to loose a Shit load of cash

If I'm brutal honest with my abilities I'm probably about to hit the highest level I will be able to beat or care to beat and that's $5/$10 and maybe $10/$20 live only

A big part of my success is game selection I do all I can to avoid other Pro's or regular 's....I only play with fish...people looking to drink, laugh and gamble...if I can't find them then I will not play

It's probably also a good idea you didn't get involved in that kind of outfit

I think you made the correct Play in life

I always decline any legit offers for backing just because I'm afraid of gambling with the wrong guys money lol

I'm also going to confess that poker isn't easy...my worst down swing has been 20 buy in's before digging back out if the whole and that was playing $1/$2 cash

My worst downswing in tournament play was a 200 buy in spiral until I came back out...that was playing $20 games

For real it's not easy and it's possibly the biggest reason why I will never try it full time...a steady job is way more secure than a poker income

I Play poker basically for fun number one and number two once I actually go positive I use it for extra spending and clubbing money

And if your wondering I use a 50 buy in bank roll for cash and a 500 buy in bank roll for tournament

If I ever loose have I will drop stakes and grind it back up

That way I keep myself from going broke win it's my mathematical time to run bad

I think I like free poker where I keep getting free chips every 4 hours even if I don't win at the tables. I played 5 or 6 games at the online tournament tables but only won twice. One time I came really close in a very long game going back and forth. I guess that makes my win rate low at 30% but that is round one too. I still think it's funny I thought I downloaded an app where I was just playing against AI until I started seeing faces and messages. I spotted a hot girls face today. Not the normal poker face.

Scott Adams (author of the Dilbert cartoon) has a theory that the best way to make good money is to get a stack of skills. Become skilled in 2 or 3 areas where you have an interest, then find a job that requires those combined skills. For example, a musician who also has a business background might promote concerts or manage the business affairs of successful musicians. That makes sense to me.

Multiple income streams. Good idea. I worked 60-84 hr weeks (5-7 days a week) for a year. That was about as long as I could keep it up. It's hard to keep it up psychologically. I'd like to do it again only because my savings rate isn't very high.

More small potatoes, I was planning to work part time for UPS again loading trucks. Until I can get something more meaningful and better paying. I figure why sit around if I'm broke?

Shark, sadly I'd work 7 days a week for $100k. Even if I could only keep it up for a short while, it would be worth it to me at this point. It might lead to something else. You never know!

@Dougster said: "How exactly are you able to play poker online these days anyway? I thought the sites would not take US customers (except NJ)."

I strongly suspect that a US user could access these sites pretty easily using a VPN service (Nord, Boho, etc.). Collecting your winnings without sending up red flags at IRS and/or FBI involves a whole other set of financial chicanery.
