OT: Hillary

Miami, FL (or the nearest big-booty club)
Not trying to knock her, but when you see her walking doesn't she seem grandmotherly/old and a bit frail - imagine 4 or even 8 years from now (assuming she would be re-elected as sitting prez)

True, but then again, The Donald's do could shatter if he was smacked hard enough and allow his pea-sized brain and watermelon-sized ego to leak out.

We sure had some geriatric choices this time around! Wow! Mr. Trump and Mr. Sanders (her chief rivals) are no spring chickens either! Wow!

Ronald Reagan was always considered an old president, he was 69 when he took office back in Jan 1981

I miss him. Iran was afraid of him so they returned the hostages right away. Then he scared the Soviet Union to the point where they collapsed. Unlike today..

Yes, Papi, after 4 years in office, they all are older, they look it seeing all the shit going down, We do have elderly choices again, where is JFK when we need him. He was the youngest one to be elected I believe.

Hillary looks like she never fully recovered from a stroke. What is really frightening and has not been mentioned by the media are the emails from her own staff stating that she has no gut instinct at all and her instincts are poor, usually wrong and she needs to be moved off her original positions. Once someone becomes the most powerful person on earth they tend to not listen to those around them and make awful mistakes, such as Obama ignoring the advice of 100% of our military and removing troops from iraq and allowing Isis to fill the vacuum.

Yes, JFK did, Marilyn was a prize way back then, Hilary is no prize but neither is Trump who comes off as a jerk. Whining and whining and whining. I don't believe we need him, he is no Messiah.

Always surprising to me that we elect these geriatric leaders who are a couple of months away from senility and the glue factory.

Reagan's policies would make him a flaming liberal today. Sanders would have been a moderate 30 years ago. The most socialist president since Roosevelt was Nixon; Obama doesn't even come close. Times change.

LOL! Trump is the last gasp for old-fart, male, white boomers who can't accept the changing demographics of the country. And now a woman will probably be in a position of power! That must be the ultimate threat to aging, impotent, boomers who view women as mindless playthings who have no other purpose than to suck their dicks.

LOL! Funny place to be arguing feminism, @tx. As long as she prevents you Wall Street boys from blowing up the economy, she can be my "mommy figure."

Random, are you referring to the "Wall Street boys" who have paid her millions for "speeches" and donated literally over a billion dollars to Hillary's campaigns? You really expect her to "prevent" her biggest financial supporters from doing anything?

If you look back at some of my previous posts, I've said explicitly that the financial crash could be traced back to deregulation under Bill Clinton. One of my posts also criticized Hillary, at the first debate, for blaming Bush era trickle-down economics for the crash; she's either clueless or that was a lie. She's taken unseemly amounts of money from Wall Street. Nothing to argue about.

No @tx, I said "as long as she prevents" which was supposed to be a personal dig at you.

Main point is that aging boomers have trouble with women in positions of power. Hard to prove, but that's my opinion.

As a married, "aging boomer" I can assure you that I have great experience with women in positions of power and have no issues with that state of affairs. I do, however, have a real problem with the record, the experience, the backers, the payoffs, and the positions of one particular woman, named Hillary.

The single most ignorant comments always deal with "changing demographics" and how America will be better off without Older, white males. Stupid beyond belief, because if you look at the changing demographics openly and honestly we are going to demographically resemble failed countries, not successful ones. Simple fact is that diversity is a failure throughout history. Truly don't give a shit since momentum carries America forward until after I am dead and gone and the left destroys another land. We are becoming Venezuela. The idea Boomers have trouble with women in positions of power ignores the fact that Boomer women are the ones now in positions of power. You know, our wives, sisters, friends and cousins. I love young people: even fucking dumber than ever.

    2 things.

    1. Most of the boomers I know are hard workers who have built up their businesses. They could give two shits if the next president is a female, but I am running into even liberal boomers that hate Hillary - mainly because they hate the Clintons in general. Most of them were hard working and had good work ethic, it's their children - the gen Xers (me) and their grandchildren (millennials) which are the fuck ups.

    2. One thing that strikes me is why are Hillary and Teump even running? If I was their age and had as much money as them I'd be retired sitting on my ass. I think they both are running just to satisfy their egos.

    vm,

JFK, even I would long for him NOW, as opposed to hillary. He was so far right of today's democrats, that he would be a left leaning or moderate republican.

Yes I know, off topic, but this election IS critical to my countries future well being.

"Simple fact is that diversity is a failure throughout history. "
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
LOL. @Skibum is the caricature of the disgruntled, white, boomer throwing a temper tantrum in the face of his diminished importance. Perfect illustration of what I'm talking about. Give you credit for not mincing words, @Ski.

@Shailynn & @Dallas - I hear what you're saying and I totally believe that gender has no influence on your vote, personally. But look around you and consider what's happened on the campaign trail. How about the crowds chanting about putting Hillary in jail or chanting about putting her in front of a firing squad? There's just so much loathing that can't be explained by her record.

Remember 8 years ago when McCain was thought to be too old and nobody wanted that crazy bitch Sarah Palin one heart attack away from the White House? Well, McCain is still kicking and Palin is still looney.

Also, nobody ever ran for POTUS to get rich. There are infinitely better ways to accumulate wealth.

The only people that ever run for POTUS are egomaniacal, power hungry, narcissists. ALL OF THEM. It is not meant as a criticism -- it is a prerequisite for the job. Why else would anyone aspire to have their every closet opened, their every utterance and secret thought exposed and diagnosed? I sure as fuck wouldn't invite the scrutiny. Especially in the electronic age where everything is recorded and saved forever.

Eisenhower, Johnson and JFK would never have survived a primary run in 2016, much less won a general election.

@Random, honestly I do not believe that the hatred of Hillary has anything to do with her gender as a presidential candidate. I believe her record, her lies, her many changing positions, her husband, her lies, her criminal acts, her lies, her associates, her tantrums, her crude two faced manipulation of her history and (in case I didn't mention it) her lies, ARE entirely and completely the reason people are very willing to chant, "put her in jail."
  • RandomMember
    @Dallas-

The closest thing to a criminal act is probably the private email server. That would be enough to get any rank-and-file employee fired and banned from classified material for life. In Hillary's case, I think it's somewhere between incompetence, stupidity, and arrogance -- but nowhere near the level of treason. So don't think she should be in jail.

Gender argument is just a theory. Like I said, hard to prove.

Hillary seems to have had issues w/ people liking her all the way back to her days as Arkansas 1st-lady
  • jester214

I think Papi hit the nail on the head at least in regards to her own party, independents and moderate republicans.

Trump supporters hate her because they buy into the rhetoric he spews out, case in point Dallas. I mean some of these people legitimately believe she's had people killed.
  • Papi_Chulo

I think the dislike for the opposition is basically partisan politics - politics have always been a very touchy/passionate subject but it seems the hatred started w/ the Bill Clinton presidency and def continued w/ the George W presidency - many Republicans despised Bill Clinton and many Dems despised George W - and I think a large chunk of the Reps disliking Hillary is her being a Clinton (plus the Hillary health care debacle in the early-90s as 1st-lady).
  • twentyfive
Papi this partisan dislike actually goes back, way before Bill Clinton, the Dems gave Reagan all kinds of grief, and the Repubs, shit all over Carter and it has been happening since the beginning of the republic. As dirty as this election seems to be some of the earlier elections were way worse, Hell all the way back to Jefferson and Adams they were spreading lies and innuendos, hell we even had two with presidential ambitions get into a duel (Hamilton & Burr) one was killed it was all about insulting one of their wife's this isn't anything new. The only thing different about whats going on now is there is so much media coverage that it drowns out what else is happening in the world.

@Mikeya, the CIA got people to the embassy in like an hour? At that point the state department guys had likely died from the smoke. Who was Hillary suppose to send? Last I checked the State Department was not combat oriented.
  • Papi_Chulo

I don't recall the details; but I thought the embassy had previously (weeks, months?) asked for additional security and was denied (but don't remember for sure)
  • jester214
The had asked for additional security and it was denied, I believe on the basis of trying to maintain a low profile. That was a mistake, we really should have pulled our people out when the Brits did.

All that is a far cry from suggesting she murdered them or declined to send help when they were under attack.
