Juice would be walking towards a poker room and get sidetracked by a buffet.
Some of the MGM properties offer a deal where you pay a flat fee and can eat at so many buffets as much as you want for 24 hours. I could see Juice doing that sleeping at a table by the buffet.
"Juice how did you do in the tournament?" "What tournament?, I was in the buffet for 3 days straight."
Don't know anything about poker, but I think the $250 is just a buy-in. With 200 people, there would be $50K -- but some of that goes to the house. So @Juice may have made tens of thousands.
My last tournament that I technically won was a $70 entry, around 45 people entered and the last 3 left (which included me) equally split 1st 2nd and 3rd. After each of us tipped the dealers $20, and gave the bubble (the 6th place finisher which didn't win any money) $20, we all walked out with $998.00
1st was around $1,200, 2nd was $680 and 3rd was around $300. 4th and 5th paid money too but I can't remember the amounts.
Total pool on that would probably be something like low 40's. No way 1st place takes 50%+ of the pool.
200+ people would also be a tight fit in that poker room and given the weather situation last weekend I have a little trouble seeing them get that size of a crowd.
I've been to the poker room Juice is talking about, they could hold that many people for a tournament, there had to be at least 20 tables in that poker room which is essentially on it's own floor. I went on a Saturday night and it was packed tight, I had to valet my car because I couldn't even find a parking space after looking for 20 minutes.
I would say 20 is about right, thus 200+ would be doable but tight. I played a Friday night tournament there last time I went, 60 folks max. That was with good weather.
Harrahs is hit and miss with size...usually weekdays tournaments will be $100 and hold 50-100 pal.
Weekends and u could see a $100-$250 tournament with 100-300 pal.
When WSOP comes to town twice a year..once in November and once in April you can find tournament sizes and prices from $100-$1,600 with 200-2,000 pal
The $1,600 with 1,000-2,000 pal being the main Event and is usually held in the theater location to hold the crowd with the smaller tournaments in the main poker room.
And a Lil BS. Yes...harrahs gives #1 40% so I was a Lil off $20,000 I just rounded up to make for an exciting thread lol
Harrahs on the weekends has grown to have more than holdem...like Omaha, and pot limit and limit Holdem
Other than the weekend the weekdays are kinds dead...hard to make money from the local regs in cash games...weekends the gamblers and drunks come to make donations
I usually supplement my income in these weakly weekend cash games on Friday and Saturday mainly
I actually spend more time in a casino than I do strip clubs lol
Back when they had the digital poker in the rooms you could play a $30 tournament damn near every night around midnight with a crowd of 30 and have a good time fucking off for strip club cash...I miss those games when the digital left...but I do enjoy being able to play with chips more
By next year I will be fully rolled to start playing $2-$5 cash with a buy in at $1,000 that will be fun
I'm actually a better Omaha player but pretty solid at tournament holdem.
I play 5 mtts daily online so I'm kinda condition for it the last two years
And yes when the WSOP comes to town I play tournaments in them..usually the $100-$300 options
I try every year to satilite into the main event..but next year I will be rolled enough I can buy into the main event..I'm actually excited about it it's 1million garenteed with $400k to first I believe ? Close to it or more...not less and a WSOP Ring
