Most of the normal girls that I've known that dove into stripping needed money, and needed it fast. Like "I had 2 kids and my husband left me" type of stuff.
I'm sure there's a few party girls who were well off that did it for a lifestyle experience or perceived it as easy money but the best I have ever met was from a normal middle class family, college educated. I certainly wouldn't call them "rich."
The only reason most strippers are strippers is for the money. And perks I guess(drugs, getting paid to party, less hours than a regular job). I would guess rich girls have no interest in stripping.
Missy Manners, they billed her as "The Republican Stripper". From Salt Lake City, Jewish, parents involved in Republican Party. Came to San Francisco and worked for Mitchell Bros, and at MBOT. Very close to Artie.
Most of the time though if parents can send girl to college, why would she need much of any kind of a job at all? But some of the self-aware and politically-aware girls know about the prevalence of familial sexual abuse. For many this has dictated their choices.
Lots of Art School Students working in the San Francisco Clubs. They come from all over. But most have largely broken ties with parents. South Bay girls tend to be locals. But in San Francisco they are coming from other places. Rich parents only gets one something if they can still communicate and relate. This is a barely hidden undercurrent of our society, the high level of abusive families.
I got the rare privilege of helping to put one such father into San Quentin.
^^^ exactly. All girls like that on the westcoast just need to figure out a way to get to Vegas. Once there, it's easy to mooch off of all the guys lined up in the clubs ready to drop big dollars.
I met one with a daddy who was a muckity-muck at a large communications company. He supported her on again off again university program. She still danced, partly for the thrill of being a total exhibitionist, and partly for money beyond a pretty generous allowance. She was a very good looking girl with a massive DD rack.
her family having $$$ doesn't necessarily mean she's getting the cut she desires. I can only think of one stripper that I've know who fits the OP. Her dad was some kind of a doctor, but she didn't exactly inherit the same educational ambition. Daddy didn't want to subsidize her being a deadbeat, and she ended up getting into stripping. FWIW / ironically, she was one of the few (if not only) dancer I've known who treated dancing as a profession.
I'm sure some do, just so that they can feel that they are a badass and a rebel. Same rationale for a rich kid stealing (they can certainly afford to pay for shit) or trying to be a hoodrat.
A dancer I knew at The Penthouse Club, had serious investments in Chicago properties. Chicago properties aren't cheap, ergo, she was rich. Her stripping paid for her lifestyle and her Masters Degree.
I know of one who did. Her dad has a very successful business. She stripped when she was in college. Her grades went to hell and when daddy found out what was going on, he brought her back home and gave her a job in the family business.
Just to back up what sanjoseguy said, a few girls in SF have told me where they grew up, and these are well off zip codes in California and New York. Then again, could been SS.
One of my old favorites at my current most visited club grew up in a small town where her family was regarded as rich, or so she said, but that doesn't make her a member of the Rockefeller family. She basically rebelled against her parents by stripping, but she also said she basically had no contact with them anymore, at least at the time I hung out with her regularly.
It's a good point. Never can believe what a stripper says since they always lie. If a stripper tells you the sky is blue, good idea to go outside and double check it.

I got to know one whose family was pretty wealthy when she was growing up, but daddy died suddenly and it turned out he'd been embezzling.
Girls with money who want to be wild sexually don't need to become strippers, they can just party every weekend.
