Where have all the good strippers gone

The People's Republic of Pennsylvania
Im in northeastern PA, and it wasn't all that long ago that you could go into just about any strip club or go go bar, and there were at least a few good looking, frisky dancers working. Seems like lately that pickings are getting slimmer. The girls lately seem to either be strung out drug addicts, older women with worn out bodies, down right fat girls, or dancers who when you ask about anything extra tell you their a "good girl". I miss the days of hot college girls or hotter single moms willing to do just about anything to make a buck. And when now you do find one, they want a premium just for a lapdance, let alone anything extra. Have a buddy that use to club with me quite regularly tell me that the really hot ones for the most part have turned to escorting because they can make a lot more money for a lot less work. Now, I know that this has always went on, but seems lately (last couple of years) has gotten a lot worse. Any opinions?

I'm glad I don't live in NE PA. While SC is a notable exception, its business as usual in most of the places that I go. And the takeout shopping is better than ever.

Take out is available here lately, but not quality. Maybe it's just I'm getting older and pickier (when I was younger I wasn't all that picky), or maybe it's just the political climate up here making it hard on clubs and dancers (only about a third of the places there were about 10 years ago, and the ones that there are watch just about everything going on now), but just doesn't seem to be as much fun anymore.

Sounds like the economy of NE PA is significantly improved from a few years back, so fewer girls need to dance for a living. I blame Obama.

It's ok here in the southwest. I had dances with a hottie with a tight body on Saturday. She was a 9 in my book.

In my club, the quality changes daily it seems. Some days I go, it's awful and others I wish I had more cash to spread around.

The hot ones have found lion and tiger sugar daddies. Female hairless apes cannot resist a lion in a suit and the really go for the BSLC. ROAR!

Personally, I don't think the average tiger can pull off a suit and, let's face it, BSTC (big spiny tiger cock) is not as good as BSLC. But some female hairless apes go tiger. The uglier ones.

It's hard to figure out why – if one is an insider per se; i.e. in the biz; then they may know more about the reasons.

Part of it could be the “familiarity breeds contempt” phenomenon – but that may not be it or all of it.

Part of it can be areas not being SC-friendly and thus dancers will either stop dancing or move on b/c they don't have the freedom they once had or are not making the $$$ they once used to – e.g. if a locality puts strong restrictions on clubs thus making it harder for custies to have “fun”; then custies may start spending less $$$ b/c they can't have as much “fun”; thus w/ less $$$ spent by custies b/c there is less fun then less $$$ for dancers to make and they may stop dancing or leave for greener pastures.

Also – some/many SCs seem to sometimes go thru phases where they were once hot/place-to-be and thus flocked to by hot dancers; then for w/e reason (poor management; greedy management) they fall off and the hot dancers that can be hired at better clubs stop dancing there – sometimes these clubs make a comeback and sometimes not.

Perhaps if you local area has gone down the tubes; you can see if there are good SCs where you can make a road-trip on a weekend to if you have that flexibility; i.e. save the $$$ you would spend in sub-par local SCs and blow it in a good SC farther away – although easier said than done since often times we don't wanna have to wait till we can get away on a short trip so we can enjoy a good SC visit.

My hypothesis is still that the Dougster Economic Boom is gradually draining talent. In particular it's catching girls at the margins. Girls who the difference between taking her clothes off for money the first time I'd if she can find a $20/hr internship vs $15/hr. Or one cute waitress I got to know who seemed on the path to stripping but instead found a sales job.

rockstar writes "Sounds like the economy of NE PA is significantly improved from a few years back, so fewer girls need to dance for a living. I blame Obama." Sure, our tepid economic growth can be attributed to the inept policies of our economically illiterate President. LMFAO!

I've noticed the same thing. I think part of the reason, here in my region at least, is that the number of clubs has grown. A lot of clubs can't be as choosy as they once were, and plenty of them are letting almost anyone dance--hence the increase in fatties and druggies. Also, there are several more high-end clubs, and they tend to pick up the best girls. Since these clubs tend to be "no extras" bars, the dancers aren't in competition with girls who are offering special fun. These girls can count on the occasional whale to help them pay the bills along with OTC. Drugs also have had a huge impact. When I started clubbing, the dancers tended to do coke. Now they're strung out on heroin, meth and pills. A lot of those are strung out during their entire shift.

Theories:

1. Economy improving, girls getting regular jobs because they can't sustain the nightlife that comes with clubbing.

2. Camming, took away a lot of strippers

3. Sugar daddies, very common today, 10 years ago it was almost unheard of.

4. Drugs, youth are using drugs that affect the body much harsher than what they were using 15 years ago. Example: maybe a dancer did a little coke back then, today they are doing meth.

I'm seeing less clubs,
lots more hot dancers,
a lot more attention

drawback is the club I visit gets packed late at night and all the seats get taken.
result is I'm leaving earlier than I used to and spending less money.

Shailynn, good point on the drugs they're doing. Coke is "a hell of a drug." But I don't think the physical destruction comes as quickly and terribly as meth. The coke heads could, at least, do their jobs. The meth and pill heads I've run into the past two years could barely stand.

Mr. Deuce: "Tepid economic growth" would have been a godsend just a few years ago. You are guilty of politics over policy. I have never been scared of living in the US more than I was in the latter years of W when I wondered if our whole system was going to break down. And fear is the butt buddy of the conservatives!!! So for that reason I was scared. Fortunately Obama was University Of Chicago educated and knew all recessions/depressions can be dealt with with through government spending in areas that create jobs; even if the jobs are minimum wage The second step is raising taxes on the top 1% and cutting taxes on the bottom 50%. It's nt rocket science, politics aside.

It's funny to me how the Republicans have become a faction dedicated to destroying the very fabric of our government by refusing to govern through compromise. I'm not afraid though because i trust my fellow citizens to decide that compromise is how to move forward. This whole Tea Party "Shut down government to eliminate Planned Parenthood" is a non starter, but they don't care.

Go Cubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to StripperWeb.com and ask – they'll tell you where the “good dancers” work at.

From what I've read it seems like most of the hot young frisky strippers have gone to either Detroit or Follies. That just leaves the table scraps for the rest of us.

Quality is definitely down. As for mileage, I can't say with any certainty about NE PA. Maybe the heat is on in NE PA. Maybe more NE PA girls going into NYC for bigger pay days.

This has been a discussion on SW many times and there is many reasons for this. For one, the economy. Two, there are more options for attractive women now than there were many years ago. Third dancing is more acceptable. Four, clubs getting greedier which means hiring less quality dancers.

since more retail jobs these days are paying better and more than likely, if you're a hot female, regardless of color your guaranteed a good wage retail/teller/front desk, why shake your ass for the same amount you could just standing there bitching and know you won't get fired because your boss is a perv. Good example, shit retail job I was looking for to save up to get some computer certifications was hiring part time. I thought it was perfect because I didn't have to try hard to make a buck and I had 6+ years of retail customer service experience. I walk in and only two out of 20 employees are dudes and they DON'T work on the register. Gave in my paper application (wtf) and I knew I had the most experience because every other chick sounded tired and exhausted and had less than a year of retail experience. Guess who got the job.

I'd take a look at the job market my friend. There's a reason why you have a stuck up diva ringing up your food and not a guy.

Big tits frequently get the job, but they won't make you 6 figures in the real world. Dancers, yes, but any skilled job requires..skills. No girl with a rack could take my day job because she would be clueless unless she was an experienced trader.

I don't know what it says that now a retail clerk can make the same as a stripper. I know I'd doubt I would dance today with all the crap and making less money.

I dunno, big tits, sales skills and a good work ethic can net you a pretty good sales job. And a pretty face means you don't have to be a technical expert on what you're selling.

It's funny, I hear some of you saying the same things I started talking about this past Spring about falling unemployment hurting talent.

Obviously it happens more at the margins. There will always be "lifers", often because of booze or drugs. And there will always be new strippers.

I still need to try TJ one of these days.

“... I don't know what it says that now a retail clerk can make the same as a stripper ...”

That had not dawned on me – w/ the big push towards a $15/hour minimum wage and some areas I believe even adopting it already (or climbing towards it); one would think that a high minimum wage for unskilled work may def affect the dancer pool.

Stripping and making lotsa money favors the pretty girls who are basically hustlers.

Those who don't fit this profile will have to deal with crap from management and shit from cheapskates who buy only single dances.

They'll keep moving from one club to the next until they hit the right one. They'll even try dancing in Vegas, but they will eventually leave Vegas because they can't hold it together.

That and the junk they shoot, man, that's not easy but they do it anyway, thinking no one would notice.

I would. It's not easy for these girls, but somehow they've adapted to it.
