OT: Can anyone stop the Patriots?

They haven't looked this sharp in years. These are driven men. This is what happens when you persecute one guy so ridiculously that he and the rest of his team develop an "us against the world" complex. Now he's got something to prove. All of you bitches who wanted to NFL to do what your own team could not are going to regret giving this team a cause.

You're forgetting about about another 3-0 team in the West.

They say the QB looks old. They say the QB looks beat up. But at the end of the day it's all about W's. And they have the same 3-0 record.

Let's see Brady try and grip the ball in Denver when it's 14 degrees in January. They'll be watching this year.

Motor, the Pats play in cold weather too. Also, whether it's New England or Denver in January, Manning, not Brady, is the one who has a history of choking in cold weather playoff games. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if Denver and the Pats meet up on a 14 degree day in January, Denver fans are going to be SOL.

    Green Bay....

I just read an article last night that said the only team that has a chance in stopping the Pats is the Bengals - so in other words, nobody can stop the Pats, at least in their division.

The question is why should we care if the un-Patriots cheat their way to another faux title. Yes! New England will win it all again this year. Kraft made sure the fix is in over dinner at his house with his commissioner to make sure his team wins in his league.
It is almost October and the MLB Pennant races are red hot. I am looking forward to the baseball playoffs and then the NHL and maybe some college ball.
The NFL and NBA are overpaid, pampered, criminals that have never been held accountable for their actions. Let us review:
NFL just last year: murder, spousal assaults, child abuse and in the past 'super star' Ben (date rapist starting in college and quietly paid off until Miami U got rid of him and the Stealers have security following him to make sure he does not get caught again after he did it again) Rothensburger , weapons violations. These are just he things that have made the news.

@tired: If they win it again it will be because of skill, just like all the other championships. This is exactly what the Pats are out to prove right now. Also, your conspiracy theories are absurd. Goodell also reports to 31 other owners, all of whom would be quite happy to see the Patriots lose.

Also keep in mind that the Pats are under a microscope right now, so they won't be getting away with any cheating, even as other teams continue to cheat themselves. You might be interested in the link below:

NFL players aren't overpaid. No amount of money could warrant me to go through what those guys do for our entertainment, even if I had the physical abilities. U have to have the Eye of the Tiger to play that crazy game. Now actors and actresses along with politicians.....those are the ones overpaid.

You better watch out for the Bengals. As long as the Red Rifle doesn't start to misfire we've got the talent to beat the Patriots and anyone else who gets in our way.

Who dey, who dey,who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals? "Nobody!"

On any given Sunday..... Yes, rick, I know you're looking ahead to the playoffs already. I also watched the 07 Pats steamroll over everyone (I recall a lot of 35-10ish victory margins) until that Sunday in Feb 2008 when they met up with the NY Giants. In 1968, the (then) Baltimore Colts were steamrolling over nearly everyone on the way to a 13-1 regular season record. They even got a pictorial writeup in at least one major magazine. Then 1 Sunday in Jan. 1969, "Joe Willie" made good on his promise.

Sometimes, a dark horse does the deed.

I agree NE looks strong but Green Bay has compensated for the loss of Jordy Nelson and they might be tougher than NE as Minnow said the inevitable Pats ran into my team Big Blue and got smashed. The only inevitable in the NFL is that the season will grind and in the end someone will win the superbowl

Well minnow, I'm not quite in playoff mode just yet. I think the Bills are going to make a fight of it this year. And while we already beat those same Bills once, they staged a 19 point rally in the 4th quarter which showed both how talented they are and exposed some ongoing weaknesses in our defense. In fact, I'm predicting that one of the AFC wildcards are coming out of the AFC East this year and I'm not quite ready to say who will win the division and who will be the wildcard just yet.

I'd just love to have a team that actually could play football. All we have is a team that would lose to a grade school football team. It's why I watch the Superbowl strictly for the commercials.

All star players, coaches and team get extra consideration until they are no longer in charge. A prime example is Micheal Jordan never getting called for traveling, they started calling what he did as traveling after he retired. New Orleans got nailed for bounties on players only after the Stealers coach Coward retired so he would not get caught up in something he had done for years! AS soon as Bellacheat retires some small market team will get busted for things he has done for years and there will be rule change.
Yes the NFL and NBA players are overpaid. NFL players get paid millions, just because they are big, to play a children's war game. The NBA pays millions to freakishly tall people to put a ball in a peach basket. Both take little brain power. You want to make the NBA more interesting...move the goal up from elementary school height to at least 12 feet, you want to make football better ... make the time between downs 15 or 20 seconds, make the goons stop with the steroids and play by their own rules.
For all pro sports "A high school diploma is required" and a forced untouchable pension and medical care plan large enough for all contingencies paid for by the players and owners.

The Colts should have hired Bruce Arians after his great year as interim coach when Chuck Pagano was out with cancer.

I know it would have been a shitty thing to do and the worst possible PR move in the history of the NFL to fire Pagano, but who's the better coach? Arians is the coach of the second best team in the NFC and the Colts are playing like crap under Pagano when they should be the best team in the AFC.

How do you figure colts should be the best? They have no defense last few years, they can only seem to win in the sorriest division in the NFL, an when they play physical teams they fold. Unlike when they had Peyton and goid defenses, the team hasnt been the same since they sucked for Luck.

"How do you figure colts should be the best?"

They made it to the AFC Championship game and Luck should have progressed to be the top QB in the AFC. But so far he looks terrible.

Luck still has plenty of time but they need to not put every game on his shoulders. I mean look at Flacco he sucks most of the time but Baltimires D gets them in the playoffs and generally pretty deep though that may be on its way down.

@rick: Yes. But it's gonna be tough. You watch though, it'll be one of those teams that otherwise can't offense their way out of a paper bag.

Motor I ski Colorado and live in Massachusetts. Its much colder here than in Denver. Windier too. Whodey - the Bengals started 3-0 last year too. They are a six furlong specialist running a mile and an eigth. Minnow -- the Pats barely beat the Giants to finish 16-0. They won by 3 points and once that happened the odds went in the Giant's favor since if you look at divisional play its tough to go 2-0 against a team, even a crappy one.
