Our Next President

For me, I am a news junkie, but typically stay away from political news, but I have to admit, this presidential race has me intrigued. Probably the most intrigued ever, which maybe just because I am getting older. At first I liked Trump as I've always been a minor fan of his, although I always knew he was full of shit. Now, I think he's gone a little too far and his constant bashing has made me lose some respect for him. I think the final straw came when he is constantly praising Kanye West. Really I also think his ego would get in the way too much if he were president. Side note, Marla Maples and his daughter Ivanka are gorgeous. Bernie Sanders, I lean right, Bearnie leans left, but I like him and he has some great ideas. Problem is he keeps using that "socialism" word which scares a lot of right leaning people as they don't understand what he means. When talking about taxes, from what I've heard so far, Bernie's is the best for me, probably the worst for LMN. Ben, seems to be a class act, but when I look deeper I see a little too much conservatism. Against abortion, gay marriage, immigration and I think nobody (no matter what party affiliation) can be a president in this country again coming out against all 3 of these issues. Whether right or wrong a candidate won't get enough votes going against all 3. Millennials are on a totally different page than Gen X and Boomers, and politicians need to start considering that when they open their mouths. Biden, please run. I would love to see him debate Trump, that would be interesting, probably funnier than the skit Saturday night live would make after the real thing. Plus if he runs I think that would totally screw Hillary. Hillary, anybody but her. ANYBODY!!!! I think she is pure evil, proof? Who the hell runs twice in a row. If she loses this time to a republican, I bet anything 4 years later she will be running again. What do you think?

I've always favored a president that that could represent the U.S. in dealing with the rest of the world. A commander in chief. Let the congress take care of the domestic shit. I think that a lot of people are tired of the paid politicians. I like some of the things that Libertarians stand for but they don't seems to have any workable solutions. Anybody but Hillary!

I think you have some good points. The election is still too far in the future to call after all we don't know yet what new events will take place (terrorist attacks, weather related disasters or anything in between) that will change or shape popular opinion going forward. Also keep in mind that Trump proved himself to be spectacularly full of shit by signing the republican pledge. Truth be told I don't like much about these candidates either dem or rep

Romney ran twice in a row and lost so let's hope that pattern continues with Hillary.

Anybody but HILeftyLeftyary, or any other that leans left. "Against abortion, gay marriage, immigration" I have no problem with this in anyone's case. Problem is, only immigration is a federal issue. The feds have no Constitutional bases for their dabbling in the others.

You guys are gonna cry delicious tears on Election night. Blacks and Latinos will deliver Hillary both the Democratic nomination and the Presidency. Trump is a joke. He lacks ground game, and end of the day he's smart enough not to waste huge stacks of his own money on a failed campaign. Jeb Bush has no charisma. Walker has looked like a dud. So that basically leaves you guys Rubio. He's actually got the best shot of winning. The last name alone puts Latinos in play, he can deliver Florida. He's much more of a politician. Hillary will likely still win (the electoral map is just abysmal for republicans and young people and minorities actually bother to vote every 4 years). Women will support Hillary simply because she has a vagina. But Rubio could make it more of a nail biter.

I'm leaning towards Sanders. Hillary is too conservative for my taste. I don't like anyone from the GOP but Kasich but I'd like him better if his party wasn't anti-gay, anti abortion and supports the principle of Shira Law (i.e.religious considerations trump secular laws).

Kasich is this year's John Hunstman; He'd make a good moderate president and will get zero traction from the GOP base in the primaries.

Meh, Sanders. I won't take seriously anyone who favors Nordic model. USA is not a fucking Sweden and hopefully will never become such. Another socialist blabber. Hillary - no, just no, please.:( You are dead to me if you will vote for her. I like Cruz. Well, I like Republicans at all, but I give him slight preference. The only 2 things I disagree with them are 1)climate change/global warming. Idk, I remember, they paid lots of attention to these issues at my biology classes. Before coming to US, I had no idea that one can seriously deny it.(?) 2) some of them hold too harsh positions about abortions. On the one hand, some stupid-ass hoes fuck around here and there - sometimes getting drunk on the parties, sometimes with their "niggas" which , of course, have steady income from selling weed or starting rap career, without bothering about protection (Teehee, he always pulls out), pills are harmful, it doesn't feel the same with a rubber, yada yada. Then when they finally get knocked up thanks to their irresponsibility, they get an abortion and don't learn anything from that. And will carry on being dumb. As if abortion is some fucking form of contraceptive, smh. Probably if it was restricted, they would start using their brains. However, what about normal people who used protection yet it didn't work? So yeah, I am confused on this topic and don't know what to decide about it. And I am fond of Trump.:)))

I don't like Hillary and wouldn't vote for her. That said I find her a lot less scary than someone like Trump or Cruz or Sanders. I also think she is beatable. A lot of people don't like her in her own party and really don't like her on the right side. I can't see her energizing people and bringing out the vote like Obama did. With the Republicans it's still up in the air. I don't think Trump really wants to be President and if the early primaries don't put him at the top, which I don't think they will, I believe he'll fade out.

I really like Carson. I heard him speak 4 years ago and was extraordinarily impressed. I thought he was one of the most intelligent men that I've ever heard speak. I actually thought at the time that he should run for president. Things can change but right now he has my vote in the primary. I would vote for any human on earth, alive, dead or unborn, before I would ever vote for the wicked ice queen bitch.

I don't know how anyone who isn't: a) A Millionaire business owner b) Incredibly fckn stupid can in good conscious ever vote for a Republican President after the 1950's. The Republican party heavily favors corporate entities, not the average Joe, and because of the religious non-sense, try to keep archaic policies in place, hell Jesus wouldn't even vote for today's republicans (he hated the past counterparts the Pharisees) Ya, I'm hoping Sanders takes it to the House.

It's funny to me that the GOP is doing everything they can to bash Hillary, but Sanders is a SOCIALIST! I mean a real socialist, unlike Obama who has been depressingly conservative to we true liberals. In the eyes of the conservatives, wouldn't America be better off with a rather hawking conservative like Hillery than a socialist? Oh...I forgot. The GOP never puts America ahead of party politics. I think Kaisch is actually electable but they are too stupid to vote for him in the primaries. OTOH, ANYONE from the Democratic party will win the next election. If the GOP were smart, they'd hope it was Hillary as she has the biggest negatives.

trump is a democrat [view link] now that that is out of the way, the elephant in the room is the GOP primary. while the democrats are coalescing around the same old, old, old, tired thieving socialist “career” politicians, presently the top 3 on the republican side are non-politicians - Trump, Carson, and Fiorina. (yeah, yeah i know. trump is really a democrat but he is running as a republican) all the career GOP politicians are so far back they aren’t currently in the running. it looks like the thinking people of the country don’t want anything to do with the socialist-lite GOP much less the hard-core communist democrats but want someone who will save the USA from further ruination

I second "anyone but Clinton" what a pathological liar. Remember she claimed to be under sniper fire while landing in Bosnia,. When confronted that it never happened, she " mis-spoke" To make it simple, i never vote for someone who has ever been a lawyer. Bill Clinton never had sex with Monica and later claimed that oral sex is not sex. He smoked marijuna but did not inhale. The worst one is John Edwards who carried an affair while his wife was dying of cancer. Not only did he deny the affair and the love child, he asked his assistant to take the fall. What a bunch of douch bags. Stay away America.

Trump will never get elected even if he somehow is the GOP nominee. Whoever gets it is doomed however due to the fractured ideology that the Republicans are now dealing with. The real drama is what the democrats do. Will Hillary survive the primaries? Will Sanders continue to woo people like me? Will Biden make a run? I know the focus now is on Trump and the clown car, but I predict the Democrats have some clowning still to come.

Why, exactly, do we want to elect ANYBODY who actually WANTS the job? They have to be megalomaniacs, insane, crooked, or have deluded themselves that they can fix all the problems!

I haven't read too much about any of the candidates. I always seem to read something I don't like. I'll say anyone but Hillary too but some of the other choices make me wonder if we would be better off or not. I'll just repeat what I've heard. We're all screwed. or We're doomed. We're all doomed. fortunately I'm watching jesica alba on late night tv so don't care at the moment.

I guess it is very divided on here, but remember, this is September and the election isn't till November OF NEXT YEAR! You think things might change by then? Just look at all the BS happening in the world right now! There may not even be a world in November 2016 if obama's fuck the rest of the world I want my legacy deal with Iran gets done!

I personally hope Sanders can win, but Clinton would still be miles better than anyone the Republicans put out there. Sanders and Clinton aren't all that far apart. With the Republicans, they like the Christian religion too much and are overly pro business. Someone needs to make the extremely wealthy pay their fair share, because Reagan's trickle down theory is bullshit. I frankly don't see how anyone could have voted for any Republican candidate since Nixon, although I suppose Reagan got elected because Carter looked weak in the Iran hostage crisis.

Regan's tax cut to 50% for the top bracket was widely applauded; no one whined about "class warfare". Yet Obama restoring the 38% from Clinton was harshly critisized. But only because it was Obama, not because it was a bad idea. Today's Republicans still think making the rich richer is good for our country when all the evidence is to the contrary. But the GOP doesn't care about the country, as they've shown over and over the past 6 years. Government serves the rich for them. I just had an interesting conversation with a KY friend. As many might know, the conservative KY actually has the best state run health care system in the country. The uninsured rate went from 20% to like 9% under Obamacare. He said his doctor hates Obamacare because he now has more patients and he wants to work less. I said it sounds like an opportunity for more jobs in the medical field. He said poor people getting health care is too much of an inconveience to his doctor and himself, so they shouldn't get any. WTF?

Rockstar please explain to me how reagan cut taxes and Obama raised them since under our Constitution neither has the power to change tx law unless presented with a bill from Congress? Further the idea Republicans favor the rich is simply urban legend, repeated ad infinitum by the left wing mainstream media. the simple fact is that a booming stock market favors the wealthy and a low unemployment rate favors the worker. Under Bush, with a republican Congress we had the lowest unemployment rates in a century; the highest black employment rate and the highest black home ownership rate. Obama and Clinton gave us a booming stock market. Your comment about the GOP not caring about America when you have the Democrats getting an ambassador murdered; catering to the gays; allowing in millions upon millions of illegals and bending over for the black lives matter terrorists, stamps you as someone who reads yahoo headlines for political "knowledge". Please run Joe Biden, because running twice and failing; mistake prone gaffes and getting thrown out of Harvard make you the perfect follow up to the fraud known as barrack hussein.

"Having an ambassador murdered" - 4 million dollars later the Republican committee has yet to find anything in the Benghazi affair. Do you know how many ambassadors were killed under 8 years of W? If not I suggest you Google it. "Catering to gays" - that was the Supreme Court and 6 of them are GOP President's appointments. For once, policy triumphed over politics. As for who runs, Sanders is getting a lot of traction, and with good reason. You may not like his policies fine, but a liberal government in recent times makes more money for everyone than a conservative government. Only Clinton and Obama's administrations have cut the deficit. Look that one up too. Reagan cut taxes; Obama raised them. Ask any FOX "News" talking head and they'll confirm that to you.
  • Mr_O
rockstar666, Not to rock your boat, but do you recall just how many involved in the Benghazi disaster have been hidden away by this administration and not allowed to testify? Seems that would make it more difficult "to find anything" when the rest are dead or named clinton and obama. Just asking!
