According to stats released by facebook, if you're still using LOL, you are embarrassingly outdated. While 50% of all posts involve some response of humor, less than 2 percent are "LOL"
You should be using "ha ha" or "he he" or a smiley emoji.

To paraphrase a highly regarded Tuscl cultural commentator, Dougster, a smiley emoji or 'he he' is just too fucking gay for this old oilman.
Our internet communications will, of course, reflect this fact! I am simply ahead of the curve! ;)
I remember using "Ha Ha" back in the 80's and 90's on emails instead of "lol".
I guess it's true, we just rehash things. What's old is new and what's new becomes old quick...
As for emoticons - yes, gay as fuck. I was sitting behind someone on a plane the other day and this woman's texts contained more emoticons than words.. and she was in her 40s! I was thinking wtf! Oh don't tell me that is out of date too!!!
LOL: I didn't use it when it was cool. Maybe I'll start now.
