According to stats released by facebook, if you're still using LOL, you are embarrassingly outdated. While 50% of all posts involve some response of humor, less than 2 percent are "LOL"
You should be using "ha ha" or "he he" or a smiley emoji.

In the future all things will be divided into the categories "brilliant" and "non-brilliant" (or "not brilliant") and the only allowable punctuation will be "!" and "?"! The only allowable emoticons will be ":)", ";)", and ":("!

As for emoticons - yes, gay as fuck. I was sitting behind someone on a plane the other day and this woman's texts contained more emoticons than words.. and she was in her 40s! I was thinking wtf! Oh don't tell me that is out of date too!!!
