If you're still using "LOL" in texts, on Facebook, or on TUSCL, you are behind the times.

Using LOL to respond to something funny is now passe'

According to stats released by facebook, if you're still using LOL, you are embarrassingly outdated. While 50% of all posts involve some response of humor, less than 2 percent are "LOL"

You should be using "ha ha" or "he he" or a smiley emoji.

In the future all things will be divided into the categories "brilliant" and "non-brilliant" (or "not brilliant") and the only allowable punctuation will be "!" and "?"! The only allowable emoticons will be ":)", ";)", and ":("!

Our internet communications will, of course, reflect this fact! I am simply ahead of the curve! ;)

I remember using "Ha Ha" back in the 80's and 90's on emails instead of "lol".

I guess it's true, we just rehash things. What's old is new and what's new becomes old quick...

^^^ that's because people run out of ideas and just have to recycle the old. Just like all these kids wearing the same shit I did in the 80s today. Great, a constant reminder of how stupid I looked when I was a kid.

As for emoticons - yes, gay as fuck. I was sitting behind someone on a plane the other day and this woman's texts contained more emoticons than words.. and she was in her 40s! I was thinking wtf! Oh don't tell me that is out of date too!!!
